Was just about to search your channel to put something chill on before bed. And bam, I see you upload this bad boy 10 seconds ago. Thank you kindly good sir.
This was a fun video. GSC isn't usually a faction I get excited about, but when I was writing gaming lore for FFG 40k RPG, I created a terrible menace of one, to stalk the Koronus Expanse; the Cult of the Scattered Seedlings. They basically started when a charist captain's ship encountered a Space Hulk that had popped into the deep Expanse. Aboard this wreck were several Chameleonic Genestealers, and one of them got aboard the ship, once it's crew decided to run away. It started to turn the crew, and they eventually developed into a cult, but unlike most, it specifically didn't go and find a world to taint, instead electing to maintain its focus on the ship, and then slowly infiltrate another Cham GS into a population, and sail away. Basically, the cult seems to believe that the myriad warp storms that surround the Koronus Expanse will block its beacon call, so it is seeding threats indirectly throughout the region, hoping to create a number of beacons to combine, and call the Hive Mind. The way they operate, though, even if one of their groups, or infiltrators, is discovered, they are several steps separated from the ship, meaning that it is highly unlikely that anything will be linked back to them, and without the dedicated Imperial bureaucracy, they can avoid a lot of attention.
I really like this! More reason as to why I love the 40k Community and have been so captivated by it for 10 years now. So much free thinking creativity!
Thank you. Your story sounds interesting, I'd love to hear more about it. I really enjoy all GSC content, something about their scale within the whole setting is really compelling to me.
An Inquisitor telling his colleagues that there´s all fine and no more investigations should be performed? That should have caused an alert immideately...probably in the form of forhead smashing a red button.
There were a few connections to be made with irl themes and stories within these three tales! Although, I'll eventually do a sequel to this video and go over the Genestealer cult which does in fact exist upon Terra!
Thank you! Those two are certainly on my list, along with the other Necron characters. In fact, I wasn't sure of what the next Necron vid would be, so I'll do some reading on them and try to put something together soon!
Here’s a scary thought: tyrannid orks, or more specifically, tyrannid bioforms that have learned to make conscious use of the greenskin’s reality-warping psychic abilities. If the entire gestalt Hive Mind focuses on a single idea, and the greenskin’s power of belief is utilized, the hive fleets would be truly unstoppable. Perhaps they will focus on being immune to laser fire, thereby making the Militarum entirely useless, or worse, RESTORED by lasers. Perhaps they will focus on all Astartes turning against humanity, robbing the Imperium of its greatest weapon, and it will be a corruptive influence that not even the Grey Knights can resist for it is not born of Chaos. Worse still, what if they focus on the thought that all creature of the galaxy mutated into mindless piles of biomass? No resistance, just food waiting to be devoured.
I wonder if the Genestealers and Nurgle will ever meet to talk and decide to just go halfsies on the galaxy "You guys eat this half, we will eat that half."
But Nurgle doesn't really devour--he brings as much cancerous growth as he does decay. Between Nurgle and the Tyranids, the long term advantage is overwhelmingly in Nurgle's favor. The Tyranids can't *afford* to ignore Nurgle.
No way.. Nurgle loves life.. and he loves you.. becuase you are mortal. Its all about life and decay. The tyranits only devour life and let nothing back to start again. Absolut enemys
Brilliant video - learned some new 40k stuff i didn't know before - no idea that death watch and the mechanius had this history with different genestealer cults. Loving the narrator and actually prefer it over the previous incarnation - well tuned amd truely 'assended' now 😊
Yes, yes! Scholars Lore has insulted our glorious Imperium and blasphemed our god Emperor! He must be brought to the Inquisition for a thorough interrogation.
31:26 this is a bizarre choice, much like in the matrix considering we only produce enough energy to keep an LED running for a few days, or maybe enough to boil an egg?
Harvesting people for energy has to be the most inneficient way ever. Not to mention waiting for future uprisings (which could take years). I wager one primitive dam would generate more power than billions of corpses (like, killing those poor souls probably costs more energy than it gives back). At least in The Matrix they veiled it a bit better by keeping the humans alive and harvesting the heat (which still would not be enough energy, you know otherwise humans could generate enough energy with their own body heat to go without eating). I must say the suspension of disbelief is not kept, at least for me, with this one.
The naration of these videos are something I can only describe as "Esoteric Cybernatic Literature" Shakespear got nothing on Warhammer! and I can think of no other Warhammer channel to do it better than Scholar's Lore!
18:35 I love how this channel has a wide range of normative judgements in the literary tone. Maybe this range of differing opinions (from imperial to heretical) represents different authors, or it is merely the same author expertly crafting their persona to please the intended audience. Regardless of the matter, the timestamp at 18:35 showcases that no matter the normative judgement being made- the author is undoubtedly a human from the 41st millennium. Because to a human living in the grim dark future, heretic or not- human life is cheap. But splicing _xenos_ DNA is beyond perverse. It would be perverse to us as well but that wouldn’t be the phrase that initially shocks us. ANY person from this era upon hearing that a researcher used the human lab rats produced by a eugenics program to test the effects of splicing non-human genes would say “wait did that just say eugenics!? And human test subjects!?” rather than 18:35 “things took a _dark_ turn”, the 41st century denizen doesn’t even say “darker”, just “dark”.
4:10 when you said "but without further a due, it is time for us to learn" I was ready for you to follow with "about raid shadow legend" or something like that. That saying is overused on youtube.
10:32 Umm - Ultra Marines do not use black armor ... Death Watch are Black, or maybe the Grey Nights ... but that chapter doesn't normally deal with such mundane threats .

Bloated stagnant carcass of the once might Imperium? I'm reporting Scholar's Lore to the local inquisitor. 🧧

I love the twisted helix cult, cool stuff !
24:31 ok now I'm fully convinced planet Earth is heavily infested with Genestealer cults 😰
That would make so many things make sence:)
Also scary that they can function in the direct light of the Astronomicon as I´d expect this to overwhelm their hive mind.
Wasn't there a story a few years ago where the Custodes rooted out a genestealer cult on Terra itself?
There were a few connections to be made with irl themes and stories within these three tales!
