Hello to I hope you see this comment but remember when you did the best defenses in the nfl and the best offense in the nfl and see how they finished in the past ten years I think you should also make a college football video about it the best offenses and defenses in college football and compare
One cool fact about Logan Thomas about the Bills TD clip you showed was that he caught that ball from Tyrod Taylor who was the QB at VT before him and also threw a TD pass to him in college when Logan played a little TE his freshman year. Was a very cool moment for Virginia tech fans
John Franklin III recorded one regular season appearance and despite being a QB in college, and listed as a CB in the NFL, he had one carry for eleven yards!
KTO left out Gteg Ward JR, college Qb at Houston and a WR for 3 seasons with the Eagles. He actually led the Eagles in receptions in 2020 and also caught 10 career touchdowns, which is more than quite a few people that are mentioned in this video.
Little bit of obscure trivia here. Joe Webb was a gunner when he played ST for Carolina but was also listed as a QB. That means his 21 career tackles is most by a QB all time. Carson Palmer is second at 20.
I feel like Kordell Stewart should have been mentioned in this video somewhere. He was always officially listed as a QB but he was used a lot as a receiver too.
13:07 Tony Dungy was the starting QB for the University of Minnesota (2x Team MVP) before getting 9 INTs and 4 fumble recoveries as a DB during his 3-year NFL career.
Small addition, not miffed he was left out but Zach Miller from Nebraska at Omaha. He played TE and was mostly a backup, and always injured at that. Even when he did become a starter for the Bears in like his 8th season, he still got injured and it was career ending. Still, he did have a long career all things considered.
I know it doesn't fall under the premise of this video, but it's worth noting that Charlie Ward won the Heisman Trophy as a quarterback at FSU, then had a long career in the NBA as a point guard.
I was totally gonna make that same comment! Hmm...I don't even know if there's enough examples to do it, but maybe there could be a video made about college football players who played another sport professionally? Like there was Rick Leach, who was the starting QB for Michigan for 4 years in the 70s, but then had a 10-year career in MLB as an outfielder and first baseman.
Antonio Gates. Elway threatened to go to the Yankees if Baltimore didn't trade him. Danny Ainge was a pro prospect in football, baseball, and basketball. Back in the day it was super common. Guys would go to whatever sport seemed most likely to immediately pay them.
@@Ben-zr4ho Oh yeah, I forgot about that about Elway, good call. Another one I remember, since I'm a Michigan fan, is Drew Henson. Left Michigan after his junior year to sign with the Yankees, but couldn't make it after a few years, then actually made it to the NFL for a few years after that. It seemed like he had all the talent in the world as a QB in college, I wonder what would have happened if he had had a good senior year at U of M and then went into the NFL draft.
I'd like to shout out another early 2000s college QB who didn't end up playing very long in the pros, but was one of the most athletic players I've ever seen: Woody Dantzler. Clemsons QB before they were cool. Played runningback and returned kicks for the Cowboys, I know he was on the first Dallas hard knocks. Very very versatile player. Looks like he played for the 2003 Falcons. Scored a td. Returned a few kicks for Dallas in 02. And that was it. He would have killed in todays nfl. Honestly im shocked that he wasnt mentioned.
Kendall Hinton: QB for Wake Forest, signed as an undrafted free agent wide receiver on the Broncos' practice squad. Played 1 game as the Broncos' quarterback when Jeff Driskell, Drew Lock, and Brett Rypien all got COVID, throwing 1/9 for 13 yards with 2 interceptions. He played on the Broncos' active roster as a wide receiver for 2021 and 2022 before being waived in 2023.
Hope we get a Taysom Hill mention. Still played QB but was an elite Gadget guy and the purest of pure football players. Played on every side of the ball possible basically. Multiple offensive positions, return man, gunner on punts and kicks, ect. Edit: Why wouldn’t he get a mention? Lol. One of my all time favorite Saints.
I was hoping Jack Colletto of the Oregon State Beavers was going to be the next Taysom Hill. He did "everything" in college, but went updrafted to the 49ers and then the Steelers and has just vanished.
I played against Ronald Curry and Michael Vick in high school. Honestly, Curry was better. Had Curry gone to UVA, he would have been way better. But, he wanted to play basketball and football, so he chose UNC at the last minute
@@TheFirst_No_L i played against marcedes lewis in football and basketball. He was a far better basketball player. I also played against maurice jones drew.... he played safety and running back... i felt he was a better safett

Nic Marshall played several years in the CFL as a corner. There were 2 thinks that were going to happen every single game, he would get a pick and take it to the house or get badly scorched, he also was the worst tackler I’ve ever seen play pro ball.
How Joe Webb never succeeded as a wide receiver or tight end I’ll never know. Especially tight end, in the modern pass heavy NFL where guys like Bowers are playing well he probably would have been very good with his size and athleticism.
As a Vikings fan i watched the whole thing. His issue was not physical. He seemed to not be in the right place on his routes and when he was his hands were not fantastic. He did start a playoff game at quarterback, we got destroyed and he didn’t look good but he still did it.
@@itsmychannelthats part of why i say tight end because not only is it a better physical fit but i think the routes are typically less complex and often safer and checkdown-y, would allow him to develop better hands over time
I knew one of my teammates who had a similar story to some of those guys. When he was middle school, he played a lot of positions. He played quarterback, receiver, cornerback, kick and punt returner, and kicker as well. But when he reached high school his freshman year, he became the starting quarterback that year but he would played receiver for a quite a few plays. But by his sophomore year, he then was officially the starting wide receiver and corner. The same thing could be said for his junior year but when his senior year hit, he then started playing quarterback again when the starter’s lung had collapsed. But after all that, he was still playing reviver and corner.
Fun Fact: Back then, where Marlin Briscoe played in college, Omaha was known as the University of Omaha. By the year where he entered the AFL Draft in 1968, that university was renamed (and has been ever since), as the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Athletically its nickname is called the Mavericks. Technically, the school has been rebranded athletically back to its original name as the "Omaha Mavericks" (formerly the "Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks"). P.S.: I'm surprised that I haven't seen Jordan Lynch on this list. He was a QB for Northern Illinois (NIU), but later began in the NFL as a RB, if my memory serves correctly.
There are some guys who were college quarterbacks who switched to different positions. There are: Brian Mitchell, Tyree Jackson, Marcus Vick, Woodrow Dantzler, Denard Robinson, Greg Ward, Antwaan Randle-El, Julian Edelman, Brad Smith, Quinton Flowers, Josh Cribbs, Ronald Curry, Joe Webb, Armanti Edwards, Terrelle Pryor, Ken Riley, Michael Robinson, Eric Crouch, Logan Thomas, and many more
I’m glad you mentioned Logan Thomas that’s actually my cousin and I remember living through when he was at Virginia Tech he was like a local legend he actually played tight end in highschool originally and wanted to at Tech but Beamer said no, he also played Safety in highschool the best safety I’ve ever seen 6’6 running down coming for your head was scary man
College will do this too for HS athletes. The WI Badgers did this for 2 players that I recall, Alec James and Alec Ingold (Went to my highschool!). James would move to DE of all places and was outstanding despite being in a 3-4 set. Ingold was initially going to be a LB, but then moved to FB where he is today in the NFL.
What I'd love to see would be a guy who played QB in college that gets drafted to be an offensive lineman in the NFL. Also, Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch was also drafted by the Rams as a safety. I guess it didn't make it on here because he didn't survive cuts and make the Rams roster?
With how the game has evolved, I can't help but wonder how some of these guys would've done if they were allowed to play QB in the NFL. Also: Bill handing a guy film on a QB and saying "don't say he's a QB" shows he has an eye for talent
These players adapted to new roles and found success in the NFL despite starting their college careers as quarterbacks. It’s like the NFL Draft does this every single year, so they wanna see if you can make it on the NFL level. Some of them are good at it and others aren’t good as well as they think.
I almost commented about him but 1) he switched from QB in college, which a lot of players do and 2) he never actually played a game in the NFL. But still, his switch from QB to an actually pretty good MLB is commendable. I'm glad I got to witness it in real time. Go 'Clones!

800th like of the video. Love the channel. If the League were not about ego and money, only, we would have QBs retool more often. Imagine Cam Newton playing goal line wild cat quarterback. Amongst others.
Halfway through I was wondering if this was a Taysom Hill video. Was not disappointed. Does anyone else try and guess what the beat drop at the end will be?
Yes 😂
Isaiah Stanback played QB at Washington. He could throw the ball 75 yards (link at bottom) but he was drafted and played WR in the NFL.

Bruh you can’t forget Mike Rob went to back to back Super Bowls with the Seahawks and actually won one
Matt Jones was a freak beast. I lost my voice many times at ol Donald W watching him.
