Since Stellantis took over Ram and Dodge, they have been in a downward spiral in terms of listening to customers wants. These companies once had the most exciting lineup of offerings but are following in the footsteps of Nissan by not refreshing vehicles and killing off the more desirable options. They need to kick Peugeot executives the hell out of the American market!!!!!

What I'd agree with you on is that every company has outliers. There are folks who want big V8's and whatever else, but are those people the bulk of the buyers? The problem is someone like me won't care if it sounds like a minivan. Six cylinder turbos are also not very fuel efficient in real world usage. Their complexity and potentially expensive repairs mean it would likely end up in a junkyard sooner than a V8 truck. One thing I know for sure is the EPA doesn't care what I think!

People who may like "old school" or "big engines with lots of noise" and they won't carry over to the new line up. Ford had the right idea when selling their Ford GT…have buyers sign a contract to not sell it for two years…along with that thought…should’ve had pre-orders with non-refundable deposits to eliminate the dreamers and allowed direct ordering…they would have sold 2-3X as many by bypassing dealers. All specialty cars and trucks needed to be ordered directly from the manufacturer to eliminate all of the gouging that has become so commonplace….dealers could still sell bread and butter models etc. Manufacturers have shot themselves in the foot repeatedly over this situation. They sure as hell won’t be any gouging on electric vehicles when they try to become mainstream….hope those greedy dealers end up with lots filled with dust collectors!

Before all hell broke loose mid to late 2019 with the chip shortage, Raptors sat on dealer lots with $10,000 + discounts. The "Straight 6" is only a 3-liter (180 cubic inches) engine, with twin turbos. The ratings (per advanced info) is 400 hp standard and 500 hp optional. It will have virtually no torque or horsepower at low rpms, and all the power will only be at the top end. So we'll have to buzz the crap out of the engine to get any power, which does nothing at all for the normal operating range of the engine. In my opinion the engine is as a result of some Vice President in charge of something at Chrysler who said, "make this work." Well, you can make anything work with enough boost pressure, but on the street, when sitting at a stop light, and the light turns green and the driver hits the throttle, what will happen is the vehicle will do a nose dive from a depressed throttle and no rpms and consequently no boost. Further, the info so far is that the engine will have CAST crank and pistons, combined with 20 pounds boost from the turbo, once the engine gets into its revs. My prediction is that the presence of CAST crank and pistons, combined with 20 pounds of turbo boost, will result in gobs and scads of blown engines and consequent warranty claims. Aside from installation in pickup trucks, the engine is slated for initial installation in the Grand Wagoneer and Grand Cherokee. Its what happens when you put bean counters in charge, rather than car guys that know what they're doing.

Nathan how can you say that the RAM TRX beat the the at it's own game when the Raptor created the game in the first place and also we are talking about a V8 vs a V6 and it seems like the TRX became pretty quiet when the Raptor R came along

“Toyotas has already proven that you can do a high performance hybrid” you clearly meant Ford has proven that with Toyota following as always.

To my knowledge, the TRX never beat the EcoBoost Raptor on an off-road race course.

Once you passed over 80000 for the Trx just left me completely out! More important things to keep… home, services and my economy highlander and a dodge grand caravan. Sign of the times.

I really hope this doesn’t mean Ford will discontinue the Raptor R. It’s a perfect scenario because they don’t have the competition anymore.

      I doubt they will
Remember that ford and GM are the only ones with v8s still
Ford will probably keep the raptor R so that its the only super truck left

@@oscara.9265I'm pretty sure the TRX is the reason why Ford came out with a V8 raptor 😂 where was the V8 in the previous raptors for the last 10 years Ford raptor owners were begging for a V8 stop praising a company that screwed over their customers for the last 10 years 😂 Ram gave what their customers wanted Ford Didn't until the TRX came out

They're probably turning TRX into a EV. I'd like to see a Hybrid, but it seems they would've just added a hybrid as an option to the already existing truck.

They are going the route of some sort of twin turbo v6 hybrid situation…similar to Toyota and ford. Trx is beautiful but at 8mpg it’s just not practical at all.
