I'm not sure how much has changed over the past decade, but Hondata is (was?) definitely the way to go for Hondas. I was an early adopter of Cobb's venture into Honda tuning with my 07 Si and... I moved over to Hondata pretty quickly! Not to talk poorly of Cobb -- nowadays I'm a Subaru guy with an AccessPort -- it just wasn't a good experience. Of course, this only applies to the OTS tunes, which were much more experimental at the time. The product itself was fine.

The Flashpro had a chip storage issue and they swapped to FlashPro Minis. I picked mine up this year in person with the jailbreak tour. They've been actively doing upgrades regularly still with DE5's burple and pop they added to FL5 and just recently updated for the FK8 for those people who want it. A lot of custom tuners still working on the platform. Also the turn out has been crazy at every tour spot. Had around 20-25 FL5/Fk8s for the tour where I am.

I have the ‘24 DE5 & would like an accessport if it provided me with an oil temperature estimate like what the CTR has from the factory. Not having a factory oil temperature estimate is the only thing I don’t like about my ITS. Power wise I don’t feel like the car needs any more, and I also don’t like the idea of needing to get my ECU “jail broken” so I can utilize the accesport. On previous cars I’ve owned the accessport was always “plug n play” right out of the box. Cobb is solid company and congratulations on what you have turned your CTR in to. I really enjoy your content and reviews.

Everything you said about the Cobb tune was similar to my experience with the ET tune.
    (more power - lower down & 4k +, & a much more streetable car)
From my limited exposure - it almost seem that doing any kind of "reputable" tune should be a slam dunk for this type of car - for more power or to simply optimize your car's drivability.

I’ve yet to see a stick shift FWD car with good launch control. All you did was spin and wheel hop. Why do they even offer it?

Hopefully the OTS tunes for Honda aren’t nearly as bad as the ones for Wrx.

I mean they would have to prove that the tuning you did caused the issue you are having with your car. So it can. But some dealers also don’t care especially if you have your car tuned and are using parts from a aftermarket company that has a partnership with the brand like how AMS and Infiniti/Nissan have a partnership. At least that’s what some peoples experience has been

Its not just the HP. The drivability of it overall is greatly improved. It seems high at first but its totally worth it once you experience it.

I recommend not running ANY cobb tune. They are known to cause all sorts of engine damage. Go with a more reputable tuner specific to honda.
