Dude that was epic, nice way to test the suspension. Love it in slow mo! Your content is always interesting. Most channels it's just the usual riding around, gets somewhat boring.
A friend of mine had a UDR for a while. We are racing on a backyard track. The UDR has no chance against any 8 scale buggy or truggy. Unfortunately it`s just not nimble eneugh. He was spinning out and flipping all the time. The suspension looked cool while when jumping, but that was basically it. Not saying you can`t have fun with it, but it`s home is not the racetrack.
No doubt about that. It’s just a nice beach and gravel basher. I’m a 1/8 class buggy and truggy guy myself and I’ll still gladly take one of these to fart around with.

That's an amazing suspension for a toy car! One thing, obviously it is a very soft suspension in order to be so compliant- are the springs progressive, or constant spring rate?
@techspac3 As far as i understand, progressive springs get stiffer the more compressed they become wheras constant springs have roughly the same amount of compliance through out the entire suspension travel. I'd guess the UDR comes stock with Constant rate springs but idk
Its stock setup in the rear. I am planning to redo the whoops part of the video soon as i noticed from feedback that i need to speed it up a little bit🚀
Agree it can't compete with Buggies and Truggies but it wasn't designed for racing competitions nor did they intend to make a hobby grade truck per se. What it is intended for is racing purists from the 1:1 world that want scale realism and general cool factor. It checks most if not all the check boxes for that. I have an Associated RC8B4e and I also have the UDR. What's cool about the UDR is taking it to real Trophy Truck races and because of it's design and durability I can run it anywhere without a track. It draws a crowd nearly every time I run it. You just can't do that with"Hobby grade) buggies and truggies. I love both types equally well because I use them each for what they were intended for. You wouldn't buy a Honda Civic to tow a travel trailer but that doesn't mean it's inferior somehow.

It has the most realistic suspension. I have the Losi Super Baja Rey Desert Truck it is the same way on the bumps. It's a 1/6th scale. Fun to watch the suspension work. We race them here in Texas on a big 1/5th scale offroad track. So much much more fun than open-wheel buggies and truggies because you can rub each other without flipping over with the desert trucks closed wheels.
Sounds like heaps of fun. What color Baja Rey do you have? The suspension looks very satisfying in slow mo and normal speed but more appreciation for it in slow mo. Thanks for the watch mate
The Losi Baja Rey and Super Baja Rey are built the same. I have the SBR and to me it's even better. The extra size makes it look more epic. It's no basher but it does break less than my buddies UDR. I picked it up last Father's day sale for the price of the UDR.
