How does link beat giant dragons, spiders, demons and stuff but then he lost to a plumber...
But this is no ordinary plumber

I agree with you but not the logic... It's like saying.. How does Mario beat a dragon-turtle along thousands of enemies but got wrecked (momentarily at least) by a forest Boi.
How is Bowser strong enough to survive falling in lava multiple times, getting sucked into a black hole, etc, and still loses to a fat plumber?
He has power ups like 50 of them

Luigi owns Mario in the actual SSB games. He's got that super uppercut. Whereas Mario just knocks out coins, Luigi's version of the attack send an opponent flying. And if they have a decent damage on them (like 50% or more) then they are gone bye bye. You should have had Luigi beat Mario in your video here. Because that's how it would have turned out in an actual SSB tournament.
especially in ssbm he had the powerful karate chop and spin move

Luigi also traveled the world to save his brother in "Mario's Missing." It was more like a study aid than an actual game, but it was somewhat entertaining.

Personally, I love Mario and Legend of Zelda just as much as each other, but I'm surprised that people can't accept that Mario is more well-known, more liked, and he is the face of nintendo.
Mario has great games, but the legend of zelda series is a great adventure and just pulls me in whatever game it is. I find mario boring sometimes. But it's true that he is the face of nintendo

Its strange cuz I can never service links final smash but I always survive Mario's final smash also I had that same reaction when I came up to the master hand except I didn't say "give met back my shrooms" instead I said "go die in a hole and stop using steroids" but the first time I tried to fight him I couldn't then again I was only five plus I was jigglypuff so no wonder

WARNING! OPINION ON THE LOOSE!!! ok, link could carry some heavy items, but mario withstood 7 times earth gravity in his planet/world. also, mario DOES HAVE time control and has basic intelligence. Super Mario rpg. also, Link gets all the powers from items, while Mario is strong and fast himself. Nintendo stated mario is mach 1. for saving the world, in mario galaxy 1 & 2 Mario saved the entire (mario) universe. I do accept link and mario being alike, both are great heroes tho. :) also, enemies fought cannot compare who is stronger. Mario can solo most LoZ enemies with 1 hand, he will have trouble with bosses though. also, Mario doesn't need training, and if u don't know, say Mario 2 to Mario 3. Mario woke up from his dream and heard the princess being kidnapped. and immediately Mario used his jumping, smashing like, 3 layers of bricks with no effort, keep in mind it's still powerful gravity on the planet. and also, Mario ran 8 worlds in 2 minutes. so say if link went to mario world, he'll get crushed by the extreme gravity already. Link did fight gods using his items, but mario fought god-level enemies with luigi. it's hard to say which is stronger, either armed or having a team. so don't give me an excuse here. but again, debating only makes both of us butthurt, so let's call it a draw.

+IceBlade1000 No Mario is better, First of all 1.Link does not solve more puzzles than mario, Many of the links are different, 2.the puzzles link does are so easy a baby can do them. 3.Mario is PHYSICALLY stronger than Link he can lift a castle, a super huge bowser, and break thinks harder than steal with his bare hands, he's WAY more agile than link and has fought a variety of opponents some who are more intelligent than him, links master sword only really hurts evil people. 4.Mario is still overall more popular even with the haters. 5.I Like link alot, but face the facts, he just hasn't gone out on many unreal adventures as mario, alot of mario's adventuring requires him to jump platforms that no normal person should be able to so that implies his overall ability is just unhuman and that really applies to the general mushroom kingdom, so he himself is just inhuman, able to survive space, survive hits from meteors and attacks that could outright destroy a normal person, he gets squashed by giant spikes but only goes smaller meaning he survives completely lethal attacks, if link falls into lava in he either dies or is Respawned in a area, Mario simply gets burned survives and falls into the same place he was before, even without Powerup's he can still life a castle in small form meaning the mushroom Powerup simply makes his insane power even greater, he possibly even holds back out of kindness. Link's natural strength is no more than an average person being hurt by the weakest enemies so he's not really proving to be someone supernatural in strength and he requires "power gauntlets" and apparel to be stronger, and also Mario has completed puzzles way more difficult than link, and he's just multi talented.

I'm saying if they got into a fight with nobody controlling them Link has much more combat experience than Mario. Especially if it is Twilight Princess Link. Just think about it like that.
Cutscenes!? Mario has hardly ANY cutscenes, and like you said, he makes mistakes. Link on the other hand has a cutscene of him stabbing Ganon in beast form in the head in OoT and him stabbing Ganandorf in his weak spot in Twilight Princess.
Even so, the game doesn't revolve around the player, it revolves around Link or Mario since either games give you hardly any speaking choices besides yes or no. Sure in Zelda you can change your name, but it still ends up being the same story about Link. Not you. Also Mario is always called Mario. If it was meant to revolve around the player it would be an RPG not (For Mario) 2D platformer, 3D platformer, or adventure/collection, and (for Zelda) Adventure, Action, Puzzle. Either way sure you can be technical and say that you are the one with the controller, but it still would be the same if it was a book or movie. A story revolving around the character. Not you, So saying they HAVE to be controlled is a stretch.
