This only works for skeletons, since there are no baby skellys it can be fixed by placing either a magmablock or soul sand UNDER the fencepost (magma is usually better)

Since Basalt and Stone can be automatically produced and moved, you could completely or almost completely automate this (at least in terms of the regular sculk blocks) by setting up a stone or basalt generator that moves the sculk out into a piston block belt storage system once there’s enough sculk and then replaces the floor. The piston belt things could potentially even move the sculk above the player and then have it blown up in a blast chamber so the exp falls onto the player (if sculk drops exp when blown up, that is)

Just built this and wanted to comment, if you want to collect the skeleton drops as well put a minecart on the same block as a trapdoor (standard put the minecart on a block with a rail then break the block so it lands on a hopper, finally put the trapdoor level with the floor) then you can put the dripstone on the trapdoor and all the drops will be gathered! Can also remove the dripstone for a standard XP farm that also produces sculk! Great farm!

You could use a temporary dirt block to plant the kelp on in place of the soul sand. Once the entire column is still water, you can add back the soul sand.

Made this. Wanted MOAR sensors. If you let the entire "controlled" farm floor become Sculk instead of a convertible block, then just let the farm run while you afk, you get a tonne more sensors and shriekers
As soon as I was done raiding a thingy this uploaded thanks wattles anf also a better idea for a steady supply of blocks is a stone gen and you just sit under it so the xp fgoes to you
Nice sculky tutorial! One nitpick: you say that this farm will generate shriekers and catalysts, but it generates shriekers and sensors. The only way to get catalysts is to import them from the Deep Dark. Either naturally generated in the environment or as loot drops from The Warden. Which, I hear, is farmable... I made my own sculk farm the first day 1.19 came out. Mob farm up in the air, long drop, stone generator providing a steady supply of convertable blocks. It produces like mad! Sculk vein spread was a bit of a problem, but I blocked them with buttons. Maybe I'll see if slabs would help the design more.
i do have a question, technically if i only am interested in getting sensors do i need to remove the blocks that have been sculked after mob died or i can just keep them and just wait for sculk sensor to show up?

We added this to a guardian farm.......wow, does it work. (The killing mechanism is pointed dripstone) 140 sensors, 19 shriekers, and chests full of blocks and vein.
That is really cool and also easy to add to an existing fall damage farm.... the only question is can you push skulk blocks with a piston or do they break off like moss? Also do you get extra xp by collecting it through skulk blocks? The reason for the random questions is that I'm wondering if you could have some type of stone generator/moss farm setup as the floor? If the skulk blocks break off, like moss, when pushed by a piston, you could do some long AFK sessions and end up with a store of thousands of skulk blocks to either use for builds or experience when things are getting desperate. I'm going to be have some fun doing some testing of my own tomorrow 😁👍👍👍👍👍
Yeah you can push them with pistons one of the coolest xp farms I’ve seen is an enderman farm with a stone generator underneath that has a piston line to push the blocks into a huge cube of skulk which then can be easily mined for xp when needed. Best afk xp farm out there atm :) can’t remember who made it tho someone on hermit craft I think. :)
Do note that in hard mode you may have to make the bubble elevator higher. Because skeletons and zombies can spawn with armor, and chances are their boots spawn with feather falling, possible preventing death.
yo I noticed a problem I've been having is that sometimes a baby zombie on a chicken will get stuck, leading to sculk vines building up in the elevator and making it unusable. any fix?
If you place a piece of glass on top of the slab which you placed on top of the spawner (so 2 blocks above spawner) and remove the slab, then you get 1 extra spawn point back on top of the spawner. The glass in their head space knocks the mob off the spawner right away. This means you only lose one spawn location not 2 with the slab.
Great design! I have the perfect spot, I randomly found a skeleton spawner at Y 91 yesterday, it'll be great to make this farm and not be way down underground. I'll definitely be adding a stone generator under the floor too!
So, every time a skelly drops and dies, i get the bubbly effects from it, but the catalyst doesnt spread skulk whatsoever, any ideas? Edit: removed the spike and placed a hole for water, when i manually kill one it works, so why not with the dripstone?
I'm having the exact same problem, I've done it exactly as in the video (spacing where the catalyst is, where the dripstone is, same materials etc) but cannot get it to work. Zombies and zombie villagers who happen to wander past the room I'm working in are cordially invited in before being slaughtered, but the skellys falling on the dripstone just aren't converting to skulk despite the catalyst having the little soul come out the top. I'm on Bedrock, not sure if that's why.

nuh uh you just build cobble generator like in skyblock, then turn all of that cobble into moss, you need just one moss block and lots of bonemeal from skeleton farm and cobble, then gather all of the moss and transport into the sculk xp farm
ditch the slab, put the dripstone directly on top of a hopper, on top of a chest.. collect flesh and sell to a villager (which I forced down to negative whatever the hell level it was) which is pretty handy to have right there 😁
This would be great for early game I built one using two Enderman spawning platforms and a stone generator that goes to a couple cubemakers it works well
12:07 just wondering, we managed to actually get both a sensor and shrieker on two separate occasions, within about 10 minutes. Could the farm potentially spawn both at the same time/eventually have both? I would hate to afk and accidentally summon Mr. Warden from any sounds around the farm 😂
No, the only shriekers or sensors etc that can spawn teh warden are those generated by the game. So if you find a shrieker out in a natural deep dark biome, that will spawn him. but one generated by a catalyst, whether from a farm or even if it had grown from the catalyst IN a deep dark biome, it still wouldnt spawn the warden :)
I made a really simple Minecraft food farm you put nine hoppers in a square and then you put the newly added you as a boat on top of those nine hoppers and then it dispenses nine items into E chopper and then if you put a furnace below you can cook nine items at once or store nine items at once
This farm works well as a zombie farm before I put the dripstone and sculk catalyst in but after I put them in a bunch of glow squids start spawning which stop zombie from going up the bubble elevator. Is there any way to prevent that?
Baby zombie on chicken dies before doing the fall so it makes the catalyst go off in the elevator and make vines that trap the other zombies from going. It's a problem
love the farm wattles but just ideal couldnt u impervise a auto stone genarator to replace the stone that get changes to skulk u know like the auto bonemeal farms are also trap doors on the bottom of the slad were the dripstone is would stop babyzombie getting out if they didnt die
Hey all, Just tried this ( neewbie attempt in 2024) and found a few issues and had to abandon the whole project... couldnt get the water to flow perfectly (not the biggest issue) the soul sand block kept stopping working - no bubbles at all, and the sculk even destroyed it once(?) and kelp did not want to be placed on the soul sand block at all. and the worst of all... the sculk generated its own sensor right on top of the soul sand block and not long after that it generated a shrieker in the 'xp' room. that was the point i was like, yeah nah, im out lol. btw, am doing this on Bedrock PS5 native edition, so dont know if this is why its not as clear cut as in the video?? was fun making it and it did work for about 5 mins, then the skeletons just backlogged by the soul sand block because of it not working and it just goes to pot from there on.
so what this means is that i have to redesign the collection system of my mob farm D:. it was so pretty before, but i cant not do it. its like 25 platforms and i dont need two mob farms
I was wondering about this. Doesn't it take the mob xp to create the sculk blocks? I'm assuming the trade is better than just killing the mobs... or is it?
love your videos. Can you do a skulk sensor automatic door. Me and my friends can't seem to get it to work. it keeps feedbacking off it's self. I've used wool to try and stop it, but nothing seems to work.
Curious question wouldn't it be good to set up a hopper setup like maybe under a slab at the drip point to collect all the loot? Put a treasure chest there to collect it outside the block area?
It technically saves experience. You can use this to go out and explore/die and come back to a reliable and faster source of experience. That being said, later game, you have some very fast methods of obtaining exp and drops, so the benefits are diminishing.
Does the Exp from sculk blocks equal the actual amount dropped by the mobs when killed manually? Also does manually killing them spread the sculk blocks?
If you are on Bedrock, I was having the same issue. I removed the dripstone and tried hitting the mobs manually and the sculk spread. I then decided to lift the water elevator up to a total of 30, now the skeletons die on impact and the sculk spreads. Good luck, hope that helps.
It's not working for me on bedrock any advice? Edit: if you built it in creative to test it like me it won't work because the pointed dripstone block interrupts the link I went into survival to place it and worked

Can we a get a best (bedrock) farms for 1.19 vid ? Plzzzz
This would be great for early game I built one using two Enderman spawning platforms and a stone generator that goes to a couple cubemakers it works well
12:25 you can use netherack or soul sand and put fire on it instead of using slabs. thats just how i made my farm.
12:07 just wondering, we managed to actually get both a sensor and shrieker on two separate occasions, within about 10 minutes. Could the farm potentially spawn both at the same time/eventually have both? I would hate to afk and accidentally summon Mr. Warden from any sounds around the farm 😂
technically yes actually. i never even thought of that great point
Can scull blocks only spread to blocks next to air? Or can the blocks be completely buried and it spread fine?
I made a really simple Minecraft food farm you put nine hoppers in a square and then you put the newly added you as a boat on top of those nine hoppers and then it dispenses nine items into E chopper and then if you put a furnace below you can cook nine items at once or store nine items at once
Just wanted to tell you that you said you could grow catalysts instead of sensors. Loved the build!
Will this still work with a spider spawner?
will stone generator work on replacing the floor blocks after u get the sculks
4:14 NO WAY HE FOUND DIAMONDS!!
This farm works well as a zombie farm before I put the dripstone and sculk catalyst in but after I put them in a bunch of glow squids start spawning which stop zombie from going up the bubble elevator. Is there any way to prevent that?
is there any way of stopping or reducing sensors and shriekers spawning to avoid spaening warden
Wattles, when the mobs die, so to get their loot, could you put a hopper or will it stop the whole farm
If it help anyone, you can put ice down were the mobs travel so they get out quicker
Wait... it works on stone? Cuz we can generate stone.
Sticky piston able to turn it on/off by moving that block?
Baby zombie on chicken dies before doing the fall so it makes the catalyst go off in the elevator and make vines that trap the other zombies from going. It's a problem
love the farm wattles but just ideal couldnt u impervise a auto stone genarator to replace the stone that get changes to skulk u know like the auto bonemeal farms are also trap doors on the bottom of the slad were the dripstone is would stop babyzombie getting out if they didnt die
Hey all, Just tried this ( neewbie attempt in 2024) and found a few issues and had to abandon the whole project...
couldnt get the water to flow perfectly (not the biggest issue)
the soul sand block kept stopping working - no bubbles at all, and the sculk even destroyed it once(?) and kelp did not want to be placed on the soul sand block at all.
and the worst of all...
the sculk generated its own sensor right on top of the soul sand block and not long after that it generated a shrieker in the 'xp' room.
that was the point i was like, yeah nah, im out lol.
btw, am doing this on Bedrock PS5 native edition, so dont know if this is why its not as clear cut as in the video??
was fun making it and it did work for about 5 mins, then the skeletons just backlogged by the soul sand block because of it not working and it just goes to pot from there on.
so what this means is that i have to redesign the collection system of my mob farm D:. it was so pretty before, but i cant not do it. its like 25 platforms and i dont need two mob farms
Another trick for java is ice to make the bubble column...when you are ready, break the ice turning it into water
Imagine doing this with a pre 1.18 world with a spawner above Y=0, and just letting it convert the entire lower levels of the world.
what abt the skulk will it replace or smth
How does remove one block makes it break I wanna understand the mechanics behind that
Sir, have you used your cactus farm recently?
Is it possible to not to get the shrieker? I don't want to summon warden in my farm.
The deepslate stalagtite stops it from working on bedrock, you need to drop them from higher
Curious question wouldn't it be good to set up a hopper setup like maybe under a slab at the drip point to collect all the loot? Put a treasure chest there to collect it outside the block area?
I'd rather have the items destroyed. I'm letting it despawn now, but yeah there's a lot :P
@@viincanity that's My point if it's a skeleton archer spawner then enchanted items and bones... for bone meal etc... could be useful?
first comment, wats up
hi not much u?!
What is the advantage of this over a normal mob farm? it seems like extra work for the same result.
Also does manually killing them spread the sculk blocks?
yes, the more xp the mob gives, the further skulk spreads. yes, killing the mobs manually spreads the blocks.
I built the farm but the xp blocks don’t spawn can someone help me
If you are on Bedrock, I was having the same issue.
Do you actually make a video every day?
Can you place dripstone on a hopper so you can get the drops? Or would you have to use a hopper minecart?
Hoppers would work aslongs the rates was to hight a minecart hopper would just Increase pickup speed.
Lit 🔥
I like using gravel for it as I always get loads of it when digging for debris
Just curious if any has had this problem...for the 3rd time in 2 years...last time being today. While playing today we had a small power outage while playing and when I went to reload my world it said data corrupted. Meaning I once again lost a world. Wich was the best I've ever had might I add. Passed anger at this point. Kinda lost all interest in playing my favorite game in one instance. Thanks for another awesome Video wattles
Adding an auto-collection feature to this? Can it be done reliably?
