Remember you can also dampen the sensor's clicking by water logging them! This create a smoother experience in general when using contraptions and doesn't affect their capability
Waterlogging every single sculk sensor (not just the one in the trap) will make all these contraptions even cooler! As for the favourite one, mine is probably the nether portal (the hidden stairway is a close second). Not even because of the contraption itself, but because of the portal's very neat design. Definetely gonna use it somewhere!
A cool Sculk Sensor contraption I made was an Allay Pinger. It uses trap doors to repeatedly activate a sculk sensor that pings a note block so Allays stay linked to it. Yeah, you could probably do the same thing with regular Redstone, but with the Sculk Sensors it really makes it a 1.19 build
Kudos to you, that secret staircase is the first one I’ve seen which uses stairs that blend into the wall, that technique is legitimately innovative and unique.
It's been in the game for literal years. I remember seeing numerous "mechanical house" videos back in the day, and every single house had at least one of these hidden stairs.
Hear me out: To activate the portal in the Ancient City, you need to use the wireless sculk mechanism; there are already the lanterns activated only by sound, but in order to activate the portal, you will need to use a loud, long and powerful sound, which would be the goat horn
That makes some sense, but I think there should be more of a price to pay to open the portal. If whatever is behind the portal is worth it even in the late game, then there should be a way to verify that the player who is opening the portal is in fact late game. It would be a little weird if you could just spawn in, find a goat horn+ancientcity and immediately get access to all that loot.
Maybe use the horns all in one and echo shards like what banana man said but maybe instead of those normal horns use the (not in game anymore or not in game PERIOD yet was mentioned) the copper goat horns?
@@craftminer49er I think it should fit the theme more. Sure, a shulker shell does instnatly make it late game, but doesnt make much sense. Why a shulker shell? it should be more related to the deep dark/ sounds imo.
Hello, I am not new to Minecraft and I am very old-school with it. I love to play on peaceful survival. I love to gather the resources that i need. Anyway long story short you have showed me many things and I thank you for it. Please keep up the good videos and sorry for a long comment.
I wish I had more interest in redstone builds. I think they are interesting, and can be very useful. I'm fine using droppers, dispensers, observers and the easily understood mechanics of those, but once I see a comparator or multiple repeaters it triggers something in my brain that says NOPE! That's why I love most of the things you've built. Not too complicated for my brain.😆
If you dont like the length of the redstone pulse you can add a pulse extender You can also use a calibrated sensor along with a comparator and a lectern so that the sensor reacts only to certain actions (walking, eating, etc.) You can also waterlog them so that they dont make any noise, they do however become a bit problematic since most redstone components break when they come in contact with water
I can't remember if the sculk sensors also detect piston movements with blocks, but if they do it sounds cool to have it so in the first design if you had the first sensor also push a block up top which in order lit up the entire hall and then they turned off in order too before walking too far ahead.
Tip: Calibrated sculk sensors filter what kind of sound it should listen to. Make it listen to sheep inside your house. Then have the secret room only open when you have a sheep in your bedroom.
When dropping onto a slime block it's a better idea to hold space bar, instead of crouching. Crouching will make you not bounce but you will take fall damage, but with the space bar you don't get hurt
not sure if it's bedrock, or if Im doing it wrong, but the piston jump one...the piston constantly cycles because its movement sets off the skulk sensor..anyone else have this issue?
I'm building a secret entrance to my mine/underbase storage system using sculk sensors I am really looking for a way to extend the time of the signal so something like the staircase you show here can stay open a lil longer giving enough time to get through it easily... might just go with a t flip flop but that requires manually turning it off and idk what im doing with redstone hahaha
The staircase just Instantly became Mind-blowing and now I have an idea 💡 hear this A lava pit tunnel or pit with a straight drop maybe a 3x3 or a 4x4 but for flash I'll build it in a 6x6 and I'm wondering if it works with mobs? I have so many ideas 💡
A tip for waterlogging, you may get dripping of water through the tunnel/room, to solve this, do a lamp, then redstone dust on top the a sculk sensor on top of the dust, waterlogging the sculk senser doesn't flow water right below, it will do the sides however. then put wool between the sensors as usual,
I really hope the sculk sensor doesn’t face the same problem as the target block, as in it sounds really cool at first but in reality it’s far less practical than just traditional redstone.
This just made me soooo excited and looks as if these Sculk sensors replaced daylight censor? And I just so happen to find a place to snag these. Want a incredible seed for ps4? Scooter
its somehow possiblel extened sculk sensor power? for now its to short I would like to have like 10s of power and then powering off something like that _:)
I am probably editting this later in the video if if mentions it somewhere, but I imagine a contraption could be done that pings one dispenser or the othen when the sensor turns on and off, effectively killing the portal when you get away
The automatic doors are gonna be cool, I have a long hallway full of storage chests in my base and at the end of it has like a big ice cream cone library type thing going on with extra chests in it and I was trying to think of a doorway that was cooler than just dark oak or mangrove so now I'm thinking I'll just use tinted glass like I have on the rest of my base so you can still see inside of it but when you walk up to go through it it opens all futuristically on its own
My favorite by far is the trap, but it's completely useless to me cause I don't play on realms or servers, but I always liked a portal that could be activated/deactivated easily!
I love the lighting system and I want to use it but I'm not sure how I'll keep all the mobs from spawning. I love the idea of running into the forest as it lights up around you while you run. Any ideas?
Would it work if instead of the dispenser you add a shulker and piston so that is closed when not powered so that when it activates when you get close the water goes away then add a delay so that the water goes away then light the portal?
Originally came here because I saw that cool nether portal design. But after all, this is a useful way to use sculk, but funny thing is I almost reconsidered watching this video because I misread the title as 5 must have sculk farms. Don’t ask how I misread it as that.
What if someone doesnt want to see the dispensers on the other side? how could it work with sticky pistons placing them in contact to work and then pull them back?
have you found & built anything with sculk sensors yet?! what did you build?
Not yet. I haven’t had time
