I’m pretty sure the new Mazda6 is coming here. The old one is sitting on a decade old chassis at this point. It’s just been cancelled for the US, but I’m willing to bet it will still come here. It’s a shame, I don’t want to drive a SUV! I want the sleek coupe-like lines of a traditional sedan, even if it’s a larger one like the 6 when the time comes to carry family around.
@@User-cb4jm Given they want to target the 3, C, A4/5, IS, Giulia, I imagine it will come to Australia and America. If they reposition it as a more premium offering I imagine it will be able to sell more than it ever has.
Can’t wait
For an engine type infamous for being a gas guzzler, it’s curious that Mazda are bring back the rotary to help save fuel.
Apparently much more efficient when used as a generator.
It’s laughable that Mazda are going bigger engines. Bigger will no doubt equal more fuel. In Australia at least we are Queuing up for proper hybrids are electrics for a reason.
Although I’m sure they will be beautiful cars, I can’t see them running hit sales like the RAV4 hybrids.
Let's see if they go down the PHEV route, I guess
what about the mazda cx 30 ? any new updates ? will they get AWD as well?
They have released some slight updates to it and it is definitely available in AWD 👍
@@luker1431 cheers man. am i available to read about the adjustments or is it not public yet?
Yes very intresting
I was 1 month of distance to get the cx8…… kicking the board and looking to other brands as I cant wait longer. Good for mazda , not much for me .
CX-XC best version to come
True
Would be nice to see a mint green silver paint work and sandy colour interior
Will this be the moment Mazda chooses to move beyond Soul Red???
@@chasingcars it’s been around for a while. Saw a old CX5 blue very nice colour 2012 model???
Interested in the CX-60, but will NEVER buy a Mazda diesel again after experiencing their self destructing 2.2 litre model.
What happened with the engine
@@lovre93 The DPF regeneration process dilutes the engine oil with diesel fuel. The oil then loses it's lubrication properties. The camshaft becomes scored due to insufficient lubrication and the engine fails. There is no solution other than to replace the engine every 100000 km which is not economically viable.
@@MrBenHaynes mein mazda 6 does it really often, and I heard about that problem but I check my oil regularly and hope it will be ok that way. What year was your model 6?
@@lovre93 2012 model Mazda CX-5. Same motor as used in the Mazda 6. The best solution to mitigate the problem is to change your oil every 5000 km, but this is tedious. If you notice the oil level on your dipstick is rising, that's because it's being diluted with diesel. Mazda's solution was to issue a new dipstick with a raised "X" mark (the point at which you MUST change your oil), but this is not an engineering solution and resulted in MANY blown motors.
@@MrBenHaynes my mazda 6 is a 2018 model, the redesign. Hope they made some more elaborate fixes to that well known problem
First time hearing ‘diesel hybrid’.. sounds a bit raw.. I probably wait for few more years when it’s becomes more stable or increase in Popularity
48v mild hybrid so you probably won’t even notice it, apart from the reduced turbo lag
I wanna wait now haha… I wanna see what this is like to drive first
I want to see what they all look like...
Me too. Keep in mind, though, the first one (CX-60) won’t launch in Australia for about 12 months.
I think Mazda is too slow in their planned release of this new vehicles. The segment they play in is really viscious now and many companies have released nice products. If they expect people to wait years for theirs most people would have already bought other brands and they may be left behind.
breath of fresh air.. I am so bored of looking at the CX-5
I think Mazda are reading the room there. CX-5 is well loved but it’s best to innovate while you’re ahead
The only well designed suv the cx50 is not coming to Australia
Yeah WTF
So confused with these names. Why not have same models worldwide?? They're a small manufacturer.
50 = America only
60 / 70 = Small RWD
80 / 90 = Big RWD
Wonder whether the Mazda 2 and 3 will stagger on given that Mazda's new addiction to oversized cars.
Very interesting point. Mazda 3 I think yes - still selling well enough. Mazda 2 is in some trouble with its higher price point. That said, the CX-3 is tiny - and it’s still selling very well.
@@chasingcars Surely 'City Cars' will make comeback, albeit, given all the 'tech' at a much higher price. [ps. I like in a v affluent area, & I hear on the 'grapevine', that shopping and parking are big issues, esp for 'the fair sex. (apology for being sexist, but you'll get my drift.)]
Lots of affluent, inner city areas have tighter and tighter streets with bike lanes going in and not much parking. Not really a gendered thing at all.
Is it time to revive Eunos as Mazda premium sub-brand? Seriously, otherwise mazda marketing will have a big headache to educate customer what is premium and what is "ordinary".
Quite a lot of value & effort been put in as RWD and newly developed inline engine, most of consumers might just not appreciate it.
Just get along with Genesis, put those new-gen cars with a premium badge maybe help.
CX-929
@@chasingcars Yeah, 929 was expensive and rare on street, even harder to sell with Mazda badge.(mazda was not popular that time,) You see more Eunos500 and 800 (with miller cycle engine?)on street, both were very nice car back then.
Give me a 5-seater, X5 size and I’m in.
That will be in the mix. CX-70: the two row wide-body model.
@@chasingcars
Yeah baby!
What about a 4x4.? Take on the MUX
Give customer too many selection is not a good idea.
To quote Mazda's Australian communications boss - their data shows you can never have enough SUVs. Mazda says it has seen minimal cannibalisation so far…
I'm sad because they're ditching the AWD. Is this true? I don't want RWD.
He mentioned in the video that AWD will be standard on upper spec models. Also this AWD system might me rear wheel bias which would be fun unlike most AWD systems which are front wheel bias.
@@giantblob7075 good to know thank you. I'm waiting for CX9 next generation. I just love Mazda it has authentic Japanese DNA and the feel and finish feel right and complete. :)
Came for CX-50 info, got nothing. Lol
Nothing aside from how big it is, what factory it is built in, what platform it sits on, that it will probably share engines with Mazda 3 and CX-30, confirmation that it will be sold only in America and not come to Australia. Interesting definition of nothing.
bring back real names for real soul!
I'm in the market for a new car early 2023.
6 cylinder and rear wheel drive?
Take my money! 💰💵
RWD+six is a good recipe. Amazing that it’s being launched in the era of electrification.
Agreed, bold and strategic move. I'm all for the early announcement, you did a great job 👍
