Sometimes, because you've been paying attention to everything going on around you, you may have that extra second you need to avoid as much damage as possible - even if you still get hit. Sometimes - there's nothing you can do. Watch some of those car crash videos - people at stop lights, patiently waiting, getting demolished when another car or truck is out of control and takes out an entire line of cars, or the entire front row at the light - there's nothing you can do.
The point of these tips is to help you avoid as many accidents as possible. The majority of accidents are stupid. Turning into someone is a stupid accident. Turning in front of someone is a stupid accident. Getting into an accident because people want to have a territorial battle on the roads is a stupid accident.
It doesn't mean you can avoid everything, simply because you cannot control other people. However, the more you are aware of what is going on around you, the more patient you are on the road, the more space you leave between you and the other car in front of you, the more caution you take while driving in inclement weather (fog, snow, ice, rain), the more likely you're going to avoid an accident.

@@illzzu yeah that's a good point, did look into it after I made that comment, obviously some roads are better than others but also I did not know that in america this is how that worked. Because in general where I live if you go by the safest option that's the better thing to do (so perfectly legal and fine to go on the side if thats available) but we also have that if you have to share well cycles will be considered to take up one car space.

He is reported as having screeched to a halt behind the other car before pulling out and nearly hitting the pedestrians. He was said to have apologised, claiming that he was being chased, before he sped off.
No news on charges, but it is likely that he'll be told that he's "a very naughty boy" in a stern voice. He may get away with a lighter sentence though, if he's lucky.
On the (co.uk) "rate-driver" site, his license plate currently has 1,412 thumbs down (likely all related to the viral video), granting him the honour of #1 worst ranked driver in June 2020. SJWs can rest now, knowing that at least the real/next owner of the car will have a very strange time being abused and spat at every time he pops down the shops in his strangely-inexpensive second-hand car.
In other news, climbing from tenth place back in April to scoop second place this month is the license plate of a driver who ploughed his speeding Audi into a girl while she was riding her horse. He reportedly shouted at and abused the child while her horse lay dying. He has 68 thumbs-down this month.

Where the hell have you ever seen such a thing? In about a decade of watching car crash compilation I have never ever seen anything like that.
Idk mate, I kind of disagree? I think the channels that host the dash cam compilations should just include context for the video if provided, not include the full story from the individual. Not to minimize the effort that they put in to make the compilations, but they are quite literally doing much less work than other content creators that film their own content and edit etc. the very least they can do (aside from crediting video owners) is edit a response to make it clear what was going on or even leave it out entirely and provide a small personal comment for context.

@@kreneesimo I don't differ too much there; I think having the comments are often good to keep things grounded so it doesn't just become disaster porn. Most other channels offer that though so it's nice to have one that focuses only on the videos. But I'm also just amused by the seemingly unnecessary details I often see in the comments

I think honestly he was in shock that not only did he not notice her coming towards him, then he miraculously look at his car and moved in such a way that less Then even a second and he would have been crushed from the waist down and probably would hsve died from internal bleesding. I believe him to be in shock and he may develop PTSD from this. Get an order of protection against that chick at least. He may end up killing her in self-defense or she will kill him first and then kill herself. She's a complete nut. And he would have to be to stay with her.
