This deck is so good. I have been playing it on the Standard event and it has destroyed Risen reef decks, control decks, any type of decks really with a really good win to lose ratio so far.
It's really impressive and fun to play.

yup love mono black have build one similar because i hate the cavaliers they seem too powerful
If you follow his coverts twitter you will see he posts decks almost a week before he makes a video on them. I’m not sure why he doesn’t push his twitter account but he posts some cool stuff.
Thanks for taking the time to explain why some cards do not add value (dread presence), i was struggling to get my mono black to really run smoothly and I think it was cards like dread presence and regisaur messing up the chain! Thanks a lot again, a lesson learned!

This deck is extremely powerful for the Standard 2020 event. The only change I made was adding two blast zones
@@justsomeguywithnoeyes7303 I have not found that to be the case. There's a wide variety of decks that I've faced. In any event, 2 Blast zones can be a good answer to flash.
@@justsomeguywithnoeyes7303 I also barely saw any, mostly mono-R cavalcade, and one 4c land destruction that converted me for a while (and was pretty successful).

After nearly a hundred matches I swapped Dreadhorde Invasion for Spawn of Mayhem. I guess it's role here was to be a sac meat and maybe a pressure tool against control, but I rarely happened to sacrifice the army token for Plaguecrafter or Cavalier, and only once it grew to 6/6. More often it was just eating my life and causing a losses because of it.
But overall this deck is amazing) Thank you so much)

add another 4drop or ramp tools, as your only vulnerability is if you don't get a heraldic banner
or a murderous rider, it's a must-have
LVD did play a slightly different mid-range black deck featuring Cav, the curve on this one is a bit better, though.

I dont think it was a streamer per se. I was playing a version of this I built on my own, I have seen lots of versions of this on and off as well with almost these same cards for a while. The banners and the flying knights that gravedig are what i also put in my version of this to run the 2020 event. its just kinda one of those obvious decks. I expect it to get crazier versions when eldrain hits.
Yeah, I consider my face getting in the way of a Rotting Regisaur more of a "technical issue" as well.

I'm 15-3 with this deck. Lots of long pauses after the third reanimated Fenlurker arrives.
@@chrisw8681 lol oh ya fenlurker has been mvp I usually use the rat first and they discard lands then use fenlurker so they exile the good stuff when they have 2-3 cards left

If you don't have 4 copies of knight of the ebon legion then you can run a couple kaya's ghost form and a couple dreadmalkin. Not perfect because the knight is so good but Kaya's ghostform stacks with your 1/1 discard creatures and it can make the difference with massacre girl as they return to the battlefield before she resolves all her -1/1's meaning they die again and you get an additional aoe -1/1

Yep this deck rocks and when murderous rider is released it will have even better removal and lifelink. I'd probably cut 1 Dav and 1 Lilianna for 2 blood for bones.
Super solid deck right there. Just a bit short on Mythic's for the Liliana but I think I got everything listed. Will definitely build this. Thanks CGB. This made my boring Monday spicy.

LVD did play this, but your version is different, and dare to say, much better? He's usually enamored with Dread Presence, and I agree that it's too often a does-nothing card, you're basically casting a black Hill Giant hoping for future developments.
Hey CGB, can you start doing videos previewing cards in Eldraine, and going more in depth on things you might be able to do with them/decks they might work with? DC
I just dont have all 4 cavs, instead of them i put black God so also decent efect when enter + liliana = 2x draw for one token. I drop to 23 mana and put one more invasion. Rly good and fun deck. Just got some problems with mone red depends on cards draw.

CGB I love you and the content you bring. Have you considered ashiok in the 3 slot, it shuts of shapeshift and prevents gates deck from searching AND exiles graveyards? Cut a banner and a rat maybe?
Scapeshift and this deck don't play in the same Standard format.
I think because this deck is a new standard deck, and Scapeshift won't be a problem in the upcoming standard, Ashiok probably isn't necessary in the main board. Still a great sideboard option tho
Still my favorite deck, and it's still competitive too.
Please please please tell me how u would update this list now that eldraine has fully released. Murderous rider, rankle, witch's vengence, and castle lochtwain seem good for it. If u have a good sideboard idea to I'd love you even more! Also im interested in drill bits and/or blightbeetle possibly making the list. But all i want is your thoughts on how to make this deck as great as it can be because its the only deck i run on mtga lol. PS i like Ugin better than Lili in this build but maybe u can convince me otherwise

Mono Black and no Dread Presense? Also, I think you should run some midnight reapers. Both those cards can really pull you ahead in a lot of different situations.

If I don't want to craft 1x Knight, 2x Cav, and 2x Liliana for this, what substitutions might work?
I would go for 1x disfigure, 2x dread presence and 2x Ugins if you have it.
Couple blood for bones would help reanimate the cav

So got this deck out and faced all kind of decks with crazy draws. Ended up 0-8. Feels bad.
Deck is absolutely great, very good mix of aggression and sustainability, I'm shocked you managed to win the game where rakdos opponent topdecked everything they needed and you were running dry, but Cavalier of Night is really strong, paired with Liliana it's downright ugly. I wonder how the new cards in TOE will shape this, mainly Murderous Rider (which takes the spot of Plaguecrafter I think)
The thing about Murderous Rider is that when it dies it goes to the bottom of your library instead of the grave yard. Cavalier would not be able to resurrect it get the ETB that Plagecrafter brings.
Blacklance Paragon also looks looks good.

I only use regisaur with blood for bones. Let's me put big mana creatures in graveyard then swap them on turn 4

so i was wondering could you make me a cat oven deck? ping the crap out of enemy.. there are many cards that are so good but plaguecrafter over murderous rider? tough call.. and foreboding fruit.. card draw.. your deck has no card draw.. more value if you could get say ayara, or midnight reaper..

I dont mean to ask a stupid question, but i think i need to in this case. When decks are called "midrange" what does that mean?
There are aggro decks, wich try to win as fast as possible by immediately attaking. There are control decks that win by stalling the game as long as possible.
Midrange decks are in the middle between those two.

I feel bad for black if this is the best deck black can have. I currently have a ~20% win rate with this deck in ranked 2020...

Well, all of the cards will still be legal. Who knows how it will play in the new format, but I am going to give it a go in the first couple of weeks.

Set the deck type to "standard 2020" - can be done by clicking on the deck icon at the top of the card list while editing the deck
You can add them if you edit your deck while in the Standard 2020 event deck selection
Or you can type in your search bar: SET:ELD
And you can find them there.
Can anyone tell me how to find the eldraine cards from the brawl event? I can't seem to find Order of Midnight and the banner
You have to go into the Standard 2020 event and build the deck from there. It's the only place they show up.

One adjustment tho: I took out a few swamps and added Blast Zones, a fair few decks in the meta rely a lot of 1-drops and that land just slam dunks on 'em

There's event called 2020 Standard that allow you to play with some of Eldraine cards.
If you played the Eldraine brawl event a couple of weeks ago, the prize for each win (up to 6 max) was a playset of a particular card from the new set. You can then use them in the "Standard 2020" game mode/event.
Once u go black u don’t go back.
Is this for post rotation?
Yes mostly, throne of Eldraine will add some cards of course

That 3rd game could have easily been cut, the only reason you kept it in was for the plugs, which you've been overdoing a lot lately. Super lame
He would have done the plugs anyway. It's part of keeping up monetization... So that he can keep giving us content. So instead of just throwing it in there he got to be snarky and make fun of red mages. I see no issues.
