I purchased that last watch, the AD2028, a couple months ago and it's fantastic. If they came out with a dark blue or a black dial I'd gladly buy another!

And guys, remember that some sellers use multiple listings on their stores. As an example, I have three different listings of a Boderry watch from the official store in my cart. All similarly priced today. And when the sale starts, one will not change price at all, while two will, and one of those will drop 10 dollar more than the other. It's worth the time and effort if you want the absolute best prices. 😅

I got sucked in to looking at GIOI watches today, and they have a pretty great Patek 5712 homage, the sterile dial one specifically. No idea what kind of movement it runs though, or what the quality is like.
Is that the proxima you mentioned?

I think I'll go san martin gmt and just be happy with that. It's tough because I could spend a grand on ali and still not get everything I want, but I'm trying to also save for a grail.

@johnswatchjoint nice, I feel like as a collector, I need a version of the 1963 in my collection. Haha, I just put a tissot small seconds with an Eta 2825-2 in my Amazon cart because it's only $268!
My finance minister at the house is going to kill me when she sees two new watches show up (the San martin is what I'm leaning towards for the second watch).
I think after those, I'll wait and get the chronograph.

9:50 Slightly OT, but I wonder why there are ETA 2824 movements popping up on AliX in early 2024. I think I came across another recent Chinese homage offering the ETA-option, but I'm not sure what brand it was. I guess some wholesaler must've stumbled upon a hidden ETA-cache or something?
It's not new. Some other brands have offered this option for quite a while :)
@@johnswatchjointWell, then I guess someone in China (or in Switzerland) is still sitting on a supply of ETA 2824s, because AFAIK, ETA has stopped supplying those to non-swatch-group companies.

I'm really thinking about that bronze Ixdao, I've been on the lookout for a bronze watch for so long : do you think we got better deals if we set Aliexpress on US dollars currency?
I know it sounds weird but I've witnessed higher prices in Euros somehow, with the VAT included on both currencies, as if there's no conversion or something, but I could be wrong.

Great vid as always. Totally agree with IXDAO Bronze watch as I love it. Funnily enough it's my partner's 40th birthday this week and I currently juggling between hotel, restaurant and concert reservations and trying to get the sale codes to work. Anyone else having issues as I enter the code but it doesn't apply (no error message)? Tried several including the €5, 10 and 20.
Unfortunately they are limited and get taken up fast!!! 😔

Edit: Codes are now working for me so if others had issues this morning then try again. Finally decided to get the Seestern Doxa Sub 300T homage for €115, bargain. Also if anyone needs half links for the IXDAO Engineer then they are on sale but only a few left.
The AD2028 probably isn't selling because it has a 19mm lug width? I find that to be a major dealbreaker.
Don't know why as they supply it on a bracelet and 19mm straps are commonplace now. :)

Aah...that is easy.....zero! I may be being disingenuous but as reviewers we have no way of getting that info and I certainly have no way of testing it. That is why you will always hear me and other reviewers saying claimed or alleged water resistance. Most dive watches will suffice for most of us going for a swim in the pool or a shallow swim in the sea but most subscribers admit they are used for desk diving. Sorry 😐
@@johnswatchjoint I was looking at either a Seestern or SM 62mas, just for snorkeling 🤿, max 5m depth. Do you like the SM or Seestern the most?
The Seestern is by far the better watch and was the best watch on AliExpress up until a few months ago imo :)
