John, why do you, who couldn’t be any more Scottish if you tried, and who weaves a Scottish narrative into just about every video you make, feel the need to talk money in US dollars? Clemence is an Edinburgh based company. Their prices are all in pounds which you do talk about in the video but why the reference to the watch being under $1k at the start of the video? I’m sorry, I’m not trolling but the amount of pandering that goes on towards the US amongst UK watch reviewers is sickening. If it’s not Trump this and Trump that in the news, it’s a gradual move to using more and more American terms. Yes, you probably have a sizeable US following but are they not smart enough to do the currency conversion in their ain heids?

I feel like I might be the only one who has been a little bit disappointed with my Munro. Firstly, I should say I want to love the watch and it proportions are great, the articulation is great and it fits my wrist well, and the Highland Amber is a great colour for the long dark Finnish days. However, I did have some issues with the screws in the bracelet (might still reach out to Clemence regarding those) being very difficult to remove (one is actually stuck but I was able to work around it). The clasp is a bit of a hair puller but the most annoying issue is the vertical rehaut as I always seem to have a shadow over the 10 - | - 12 - | - 1 markers, which impacts legibility. Don't really see it in John's video but it could just be a consequence of how I normally position my wrist when checking the time.

It's in interesting watches' collection, John. Thanks for showing it. I already subscribed to your channel a while ago. I always press on the thumb up. Keep up the good work. I have a quartz Pulsar that I like a lot. Take care . Health for 2025 and the rest with follow. Cheers from Montreal.

John, I see watches pull to the outside of your wrist. They do the same thing to me. They tell me it's because of the shape of my wrist bone. I think I want the Amber Munro. But there are so many watches and so little money.

Excellent review and I can see why you love this brand so much. The ridge line designed dial wouldn't normally be my thing, but something about how it's executed here, I just find very attractive. The black dial with a brown leather strap is just a given. Classic, stylish, excellent surfaces. Very nice indeed.

Like you I still really love my v1 version and I wear it more than any of my other watches. I have also been looking at getting a salmon/copper dial watch for the last few months funnily enough so this seems like it should be an easy decision. However, while I really like the look of this I might hesitate given the overall design similarities with what I've got. That said I might waver yet... What I'd really like to see is one of their Photic divers at first hand, especially the collab with Horologium. I got into Clemence after it had sold out - dammit!

As a man of 60, legibility is my most important consideration. Actually - firstly it's the size and shape of the case, then the dial. I've made the mistake of underestimating the size by even a millimeter and those watches sit in case month after month. The watch you've reviewed has a lot of very appealing features. I particularly like the way the lugs are tapered and curve, and the drilled ends are a very nice feature. (As a bit of trivia: I have a very old Rolex and they only drilled one side of the lug before they started making divers watches. It's a quirky detail I always look for on other watches.) Another thing I always appreciate on a watch is a nice big crown so my old fingers can grip it and move it without trouble. Not Fiddly. The font and handset is - if not unique - very attractive and suits the style of this "explorer/ field" watch. I don't worry about bracelets or straps because a) It keeps the price down on the initial purchase and b) Part of the fun of a collection is having some nice aftermarket stuff to swap from watch to watch. (I have a thing for lizard skin and metal rally bracelets. And I like the old style Spiedel "Flex O Link" on a couple vintage watches I have. I have one of those on my 34mm. Rollie and I feel like Clark gable when I wear it!)

Which strap do you recommend? I mean the metal strap.

I watched a few of your earlier videos recently and I was a bit distressed to hear about your experiences with this Steeldive model. Mainly on the basis of my own excellent experiences with that brand. However, I should add that I've never bought a "Willard" model. I did handle one in a pawn shop recently but I didn't have my glasses on. I happen to be wearing the Steeldive take on a "65 ORIS" and for the three years I've had it it's done me good service. It even drew a compliment when I was at a reception yesterday. I also have their "1939 Panerai" homage but the best one is their "1955 Fifty Fathoms." Not only is the fit and finish very very nice, whatever NH35 movement they put in it keeps time with the best of my more expensive watches. It's usually good for )1 sec per day over weeks of wear. Also a watch that has drawn some compliments on its looks.

Great collection John the wolbrook is my favourite but you have some cool stuff I’m going to get my dad’s seiko 5 out and get some prices for a hardlex replacement as I need to start wearing it
