I cannot believe that its 3 months since the last Aliexpress Sale. The 11.11 sale in 2023.

part of the watch reviewer zeitgeist, and probably used a bit too liberally at times....but its essentially a watch that can go "from the office to the beach to the backyard BBQ" i.e. can be suitable for all occasions....which in and of itself seems a bit of a w&*k these days given the shift in societal norms, but that's another topic ;-)
It's the mythological watch that can do it all. Once you think you've found it you then realise you don't have a watch for some kind of hobby or activity you don't even do yet, and then inevitably many more watch purchases will follow.

Some people have found success adopting a strategy of buying a singular 36mm explorer style watch and then repeating the magic spell "this 36mm is the perfect sized watch for my 8in wrist" several times a day on reddit and other public forums to warn off any further watch purchases. purchased the PD 1717 in blue recently and love it, only paid £53 after the tax was added for delivery to the UK and arrived in less than a week. Brilliant!!!

Great list John. The Addiesdive pilot style watch was the first Ali Express watch I ever bought. It's great. I went for green on a very nice matching Nato. One thing though, mine just has Addies on the dial, no dive. I had a choice of either and as it isn't a dive watch, I went for "Addies". It's a pity that they don't continue to offer the option for non dive watches.

I've had the Addiesdive MY-H2 flieger for a couple of years and it's still one of my favorite watches. It really is a do it all, where anywhere, style of watch. I've gotten a lot of compliments from it whether I wear it on a metal strap or leather. And I must say it does go well with a dark brown leather strap. Still keeps perfect time and the lume on the watch I received is absolutely stellar. All in all, excellent review of some fantastic watches. Great video John!

Good list. I have four of those watches or something VERY similar. Not sure I'm as hot on the Ironwatch as you are but I've had great luck with Cronos. Also not sure I love the Proxima. Other than those two, I could live with any watch on the list and do live with four of them!

I used to own one of these Addiesdive Flieger watches, the blue sunburst with the steel bracelet. It was so good! The only thing I wasn't very fond of was the lume on hands on indices, even in daylight condition they had a strong greenish tint that didn't go well with the blue in my eyes. This is why I replaced it, with a similar watch from Cronos!
I did like mine but for me it was just a tad large on my wrist but it was excellent ;)
Great list! Maybe folks are tired of this one, but I think the 1963 is still one of the best looking and best value watches on AE. History behind it, nicely decorated Swiss-designed mechanical movement, column wheel chronograph, sapphire front and back, amazing finish quality and QC for the money (I have the Red Star version), surprisingly decent leather strap, wears well and works well, all for less than $200 USD. And it's one Chinese watch that's too proud to pretend it's from somewhere else. It's almost embarrassing how often I reach for it.
It is good and I will be reviewing the Proxima version shortly but I wouldn't class it as a Gada. The movement really can't be used on a daily basis and it shouldn't go near water. That SeaGull movement may be beautiful but it's for occasional wear...trust me a lot of failed movements :)
Gada indeed I can't wait to see you review some of these they look amazing especially that wav dial on those proximas and that baltany too it looks like they've gotten rid of the polished center links we got on the first one.

the s434v2 has a dome sapphire too, slightly domed but not flat, the s435 is boxed

It's a weird one. Seemingly two years old but I don't care. It's a stunner. Another vid will drop in a few days...my favourite bargains....
The Addiesdive pilot watch is my favorite of the bunch. I like a pilot watch on a bracelet and they can be hard to find.
I built my own Tandorio Murph.
14:30 I just did a lume paintjob on the Tandorio murph dial and hands. Lume was almost nonexistant.
I appreciate Tandorio offering their parts to create your own build!
They are great for those starting out modding for sure 😊

I used to love the brand but they have really done nothing since the Willard homage. I have looked at it but Escapement Time have better offerings and the new Tandorio looked more interesting with its multiple choices and sapphire. Thanks for sharing 😊
Nice one John, have to say I got the black dialled Addiesdive pilot years ago as a No logo option for around 90 quid back then, I've always thought it had to be one of the best bang for buck watches out there, OMG!, the price now 46 quid!!!, it's a no brainer get one if you haven't already!

I see Berny have released an automatic version of this titanium watch in a 40mm now. With the pilot triangle at 12. Not gonna lie...i am very tempted since the 36mm was a tad too small. Also has the option of no logo.

Yes the Ironwatch looks lovely, a dressy GADA. But is it 3x as good as the AD2030? Also i wish they'd do a straight black dial version, neither the AD2030 or this Ironwatch has that covered.
Addiesdive AD2112 would suit you...but remember the Iron watch has a brilliant Miyota 9015 ;)

We know that you know that pagani has issues with their bracelets, clasps, and lume. The pd1717 is no exception. At >$60 it is a good option for a GADA base platform. If it was a bit thinner it would be evn better. Chuck the bracelet and put it on a strap.
But if you go on moaning about this pagani like you did the pd1723, .. well, that would just be silly.

Thanks for the half insult. What's my job? I review hundreds of watches. I know what's good and what's bad. What's bad about PD...They have proved they CAN but they just DON'T. They could be so good but they are a frustration. The.1723 was a brilliant watch badly let down by their laziness to address common issues. As a reviewer I must address it. It's my job ;)
I bought the PD1717 with the green dial around Christmas of last year. It is a very nice watch for the money but the lume is not good.
So tempted by the Thorn but availability might save me a few pennies.
I don't think there will be any re issues so if you scout around you may nab the last of them. ;)
Cronos is probably the manufacturer of ironwatch watches. That's why they can just sell these on their own page
There is a video review of the Iron watch available. The reviewer raises a very interesting point, which I have to say has dissuaded me....

It starts up.on the 18th. Sales are pretty unpredictable and hard to.compare.

When does the sale typically start John?
The warm up is the 15th to the 17th. The Anniversary Sale starts on the 18th and not the end of the month as most believe because of incorrect fliers out there. I will clarify in my next sales related vid :)

I believe Ironwatch belongs to a guy who was at one point affiliated with San Martin, both founders have been friends at some point but then each one did their own thing, along those lines.
They had this Air king, i think a milsub homage and something else… eventually they disappeared. I would think, this is just "nos".

There was a chap who was brilliant and his camera work was excellent...Chris Reviews I think it was. He actually reached out to me when I started and offered encouragement. A really nice guy. I believe he just didn't have the time to continue. A real shame as He was one of the guys that inspired me to take the leap. :)

I hate Pagani; their customer service is non-existent! I’ve contact the Ali store from which I bought, Pagani,& Pagani. Not one has responded; not so much as a GFY! Pathetic! If you buy one you’d better hope you don’t need assistance

If you want a Murph homage, the Milifortic (sister brand of Baltany) has one and so far it looks the best out of all the options available right now. I hope it's on sale so I can get one.
