The Lord of the Rings Trilogy was a great choice for No. 1. Casting is key, of course. Things would have been quite different if they stuck with Stuart Townsend as Aragorn. What inspired casting to get Viggo Mortensen as a last-minute replacement. Thank goodness his son loved the books, which Viggo had not read, and convinced him to take the part.
No matter what, The Lord of the Rings is the best movie franchise. They’ve built friendships, they’ve built 11 Oscars, and they gave us the Hobbit Trilogy. Thank you, Peter Jackson and J.R.R. Tolkien.
They should of just said the MCU then it would be higher up ..I don't understand they only picked one movie yet other films they added the whole franchise

The fact Clue is not even mentioned is straight up bollocks. That cast single handedly made that movie work, considering it's a movie based on a boardgame.
They missed X-Men: Days of Future Past Crazy Cast: Hugh Jackman James McAvoy Michael Fassbender Jennifer Lawrence Halle Berry Sir Patrick Stewart Sir Ian McKellen Anna Paquin Ellen Paige Peter Dinklage And so many more the list goes on. Great film too!
The Departed, Avengers- EndGame, LOTR, Pulp Fiction, Apocalypse Now and wait for it... guilty pleasures , This Christmas, Expendables, Best Man and the Preditor.
Endgame will always have my gratitude for making Mr. and Mrs. Popcorn know what it was like for us comic book fans to see all these characters together on the page in a crossover event.
I put same comment. Lmao expendables are movies that were made to have top actors together lol. If anything it should be number 1 regardless of not being really good movies. Instead of “gay of the rings” those movies had only a few recognized names. It’s all watchmojos opinion at the end anyway. Some times they make good videos and sometimes everything is wrong like this one
True Romance is hard to beat: Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Gary Oldman, Michael Rapaport, Christopher Walken, Brad Pitt, James Gandolfini, Bronson Pinchot, Samuel L. Jackson, Saul Rubinek, Chris Penn, Tom Sizemore, and Val Kilmer.
I loved most of these movies. Even the classics ones! my grandfather watched those. And I'm so glad Knives Out was also mentioned! It's a breath of fresh air among the movies released lately.
Endgame technically has most stars in a movie but some of them went non speaking or as cameos. Also, Brie's chemistry with the others is clunky and she didn't even interact a lot. The Player also has lots of star cameos.
They definitely knew if they just said the MCU as a whole this video would probably get backlash cause I guess that's cheating when it has over 20 films vs the rest stop as a trilogy

"Public News Team is taking a break from its pledge drive to kick some ass. No commercials! No mercy!" "There were horses, and a man on fire, and I killed a guy with a trident."

I love Goodfellas but I actually think The Departed has the best ensemble cast. They all play off each other well. And they really bring something to each of their characters making them their own and interesting.
Knives Out should have been in top 10 atleast. And Infinity war should have been in top 5. The performances of Downey, Brolin, Hemsworth, Olsen, Bettany etc were fabulous.
Which ensemble cast is your fav!?
Avengers as in all the avengers films
goodfellas
Infinity War.
The Emoji Movie, no 🧢
Idk
The Departed- DiCaprio, Walhberg, and Damon would have been enough but adding Jack Nicholson, Alec Baldwin, Anthony Anderson and Vera Farmiga takes it over the top.
Wow you mentioned Anthony Anderson and not a cinema legend like Martin Sheen? what a shame
I agree.
i still need to watch that
Solid cast, not earth shaking
Miguel Rivas better addition than goodfellas
The Dark Knight trilogy:
Christian Bale
Heath Ledger
Michael Caine
Gary Oldman
Morgan Freeman
Maggie Gyllenhaal
Aaron Eckhart
Cillian Murphy
Tom Hardy
Anne Hathaway
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Ben Mendelsohn
Marion Cotillard
Liam Nesson
Ken Watanabe
Katie Holmes
Tom Wilkinson
Rutger Hauer
Linus Roache
Matthew Modine
Now this must have been surely at least in top 3
Damn right
i feel like they applied a "one movie per director" rule, so Inception was the Nolan movie they picked, but I agree with you, i haven't seen that trilogy yet, so I wasn't expecting it, but it totally makes sense
@Funk O'Matic nah gonna watch the 3, i require completion
Preach it man
Radu Moldovanu trilogy is not movie , this is a movie list not trilogy or franchise .
Sean Connery was originally cast as Gandolf but he turned it down. His loss as the contract would have made him over 350 million dollars.
by the way Ragnar Lothbrok>Aragorn
B C also DDL as Aragorn
No matter what, The Lord of the Rings is the best movie franchise. They’ve built friendships, they’ve built 11 Oscars, and they gave us the Hobbit Trilogy.
Thank you, Peter Jackson and J.R.R. Tolkien.
I would have picked Endgame over Infinity War since it featured more of the returning characters from the past than it's predecessor.
They should of just said the MCU then it would be higher up ..I don't understand they only picked one movie yet other films they added the whole franchise
Infinity War is a way better movie
But based on the criteria at the start of the video, I would say Infinity ar fits better
I thought it would be the o.g. Avengers.
I agree. While I love Infinity War, I prefer the final battle in Endgame as that was the first and last time all the characters fought together.
The Expendables, have ya'll seen those movies?
They pretty much put together every major action stars ever.
Exactly that what i was thinking too
i love The Expendables Films
ah that's right. they missed one. they also forgot about the cannonball run movies.
Those movies had living legends! From Sylvester Stallone to Bruce Willis to Arnold Schwarzenegger just to name a few!
I was too shocked not to see it in the list
The cast from X-men: Days of Future Past has been forgotten. Huh
THE DARK KNIGHT HAS BEEN FORGOTTEN

One of my favorite movies! Favorite board game too!
Too right you are. That cast was LOADED. I would also consider all of Mel Brooks' movies.
There's no way "Ocean's" trilogy has a better ensemble cast than "The Godfather"franchise
I agree The Godfather should be in the top 3... WatchMojo just continues to suck
@Funk O'Matic Yeah you're right ✌️
No,ocean trilogy probably the greatest ensemble cast after the grand Budapest hotel
Oh i agree the godfather should be in top 3 and the godfather part 2 should be in the top 20
Exactly. The Godfather has more acting nominations than any other on this list.

Hugh Jackman
James McAvoy
Michael Fassbender

You can’t have a top 20 ensemble cast list without JFK, Platoon, The Player or True Romance in it
How could you not include Avengers Endgame after the amazing end credits of the cast you've ever seen?!

Dune 2020: Allow us to introduce ourselves
John C. Reilly seems to be in a lot of ensemble cast movies.
Yet hes not really a big actor
Endgame technically has most stars in a movie but some of them went non speaking or as cameos. Also, Brie's chemistry with the others is clunky and she didn't even interact a lot.
The Player also has lots of star cameos.
Infinity War was more of a Marvel ensemble. Endgame featured the original 6 Avengers plus cameos from MCU characters
They definitely knew if they just said the MCU as a whole this video would probably get backlash cause I guess that's cheating when it has over 20 films vs the rest stop as a trilogy
