I’m really enjoying your fishery reviews - honest & accurate. I’m from the area & know a lot of the fisheries you review & your comments are very fair. Looking forward to more of your videos👌🏻👍🏻🎣
Thanks Ken! Great that you are from the area ! Yes I would never intentionally mislead anyone. I’m just hoping people get a couple of tips from them and get to see the fishery and how it fishes and looks! Thanks again for watching 👌🏻
Those mirrors are beautiful. Ive been fishing across the pond in the Hudson River. I think we have mirrors here but i've not run into any yet. Our carp seem to be longer and skinnier, maybe because they fight the tide and current. I enjoy your videos. You inspire me with your obvious enthusiasm. Nice job with the reviews and videos.
Is the Hudson River New York area ? I love hearing about carp fishing in America as I thing it’s up and coming. They are always a great hard fighting fish. I bet you do have mirrors but they probably won’t be as common, more genetic mutations. Thank you for watching ! Id love to fish America at some point in the future for bass and cats 🎣
Thanks for the response.. i find it hard to believe that carp fishing is not more prevelent here as they fight so hard, but it is definitely up and coming, but not so much in the downstate New York area yet. Keep up the good work.@@WestysAngling
Great Videos, like the honesty and no frills approach. I have fished for many years and always found myself to be competitive, win at all costs etc, catch everything in the Lake or go home fed up. Since watching you and your dad, I have adopted a much more relaxed approach and am enjoying my fishing much more. I currently fish at Chester Lakes, Chester. No too far from you really. 6 Lakes, £10 a day two rods etc. Camping, caravans or overnight Bivvy, Toilets, showers, bar and restaurant, nice place to fish, you should try it. Regards Les Brooks
I love that you are now enjoying fishing more rather than trying to absolutely bag up every session ! We don’t really mind if we aren’t catching every two minutes we just enjoy being outside 🎣👌🏻
Another really enjoyable video, can’t beat going fishing with your dad, don’t get to go as much with mine anymore since moving away.
It’s what it’s all about Luke ! And it gets him from under my Mam’s feet for a few hours haha
Good video. Margin fishing is brilliant. I've had some cracking carp and tench from the margins. 🎣🎣
I fished Wrightington a couple of days ago in the 2nd peg to your right. I fish this peg regularly and the margin is always a winner. Also if you chuck out maybe 2 rod lengths out there seems to be a channel that the carp patrol up and down. I had over 30 carp in the last session all on 8mm plain pellet.
😊A great informative and enjoyable video good to see you fishing with your dad, look forward to your next😊video.
Thanks for the nice comment Keith ! Glad you enjoyed
Plenty fish for you & yer dad ..great vid buddy ..All the best cheers Chris & Sam
Thanks guys !!! All the best 👌🏻
I sometimes fish the feeder using a "Back Lead" - say a couple of SSG's, 2 or 3 foot above the feeder to pin the line to the deck. You can always add or take them off without stripping down. That way you can have the Rod a bit higher in the rest.
Hi. I fished Wrightington this morning from the same peg that you did in the video. I even copied your tactics down to the same bait, and wow, what a result.
1x10 ib common carp
2x 9ib common carp
1x 5ib Mirror
2x Bream
More importantly, 1 Samsung A50 mobile kicked in the pond in all the excitement. Manage to find it under the peg with the landing net an hour later. It's still working too.😊
The methods work David ! 🎣 thank you for watching the videos 👌🏻🎬 glad you got your phone back 😂
@WestysAngling Thank you for taking the time to reply. It's really good to get tips I can use at places I know. Keep up the good work.👍
Great video mate wish Scotland have more places to fish like this , we don't have that many up here , enjoy ur videos 👍👍 keep them coming
Thanks Ian ! Yes there are a good choice of lakes in the Lancashire area !
Its great here . The small horseshoe lake has got some big carp in mid doubles in
Great place
We have fished it twice not done well either time ! But I know there are some defiant fish in it Neil . What peg do you normally fish on it ?
Went to Limberick after seeing by our video. Same peg as your dad. Had a great day. Cheers
That’s awesome Paul ! Glad you had a good day !
wow what a venue, cracking fishing lads
Definitely recommend Jason ! Thanks for commenting 👍🏻👌🏻
Great video once again westy think I need to take a trip to the tackle shop and get some different coloured wafters ha ha ha as mine are doing the trick lately
Haha I should really branch out and try different flavours… but I have too much success on the pink 😂
Will definitely give wrightington as well 👍👍👍. Good videos 👍👍👍
Yes Paul ! Thanks for the nice comment buddy 👍🏻👌🏻
Great vid as normal also nice to see Father and son out fishing. I have the same experience with wafters Most seem to fall on washed out pinks and Banoffee ; putting a yellow on is like pouring hand sanitizer over your hook bait lol.
😂😂😂😂 I’m pinning this comment ! Very true Len !
Love the channel
Makes me wonder if pink sweetcorn would be good !
I've noticed that with the wafters, been going to hillside fishery near Burnley quite a bit and a lot of people do well on the corn on their snake lake , and have noticed yellow wafters do quite well compared to others like red and pink, but it tends to get you skimmers and the very few big ide, roach and tench, think over the last 3 visits its pulled me out about 60 fish , so I do think colours can play a big part where as years ago i though smells were more important but at the minute i have to say nothing wrong have your own fave colour, good ol reliable think as it gets colder things might change but who knows, thanks westys for the great content and keep it up
This is very true Connor ! I think colours over smells is definitely a great comment 👌🏻 I fully agree ! I have fished hillside for the cats which lake do you recommend, I hear pads is doing well 👍🏻
@@WestysAngling I believe pads is still doing well not fished it myself seen quite a few posts about it so will be looking at going on it next year
@@connorgunningham3907 may see you around buddy 👌🏻👍🏻
Washed out pink ones mate, always catch on them. Just put down a 10mm pack today but opted for the 10mm krill sinkers, pink and white dual colour sinkers. Ill let you know how they get on 🤞
Yes Rob ! Getting on the washed out pick 10mm 👌🏻👍🏻 yes let me know how they do ! Tight lines bud thanks for commenting
Ive been watching your videos love them

Great video once again
Thanks Michael!
Yet again another good video
Thanks for commenting Clive
I am Liking the mix colour chocolate orange with more orange than brown on them . I was just wondering whereabouts you’re from as your accent is similar to mine greater Manchester area . Obviously don’t expect you to put it on there . Great video pal .
Hi Simon ! Me and my dad have great success on the chocolate orange too pal. I live in moston but I’m from Chorley way originally 👌🏻 thanks for commenting
@@WestysAngling thanks pal for time to reply 👍🏻
Nice! Good info too! Just searched this place on TH-cam as planning on going tomorrow and this popped up! First time carp fishing tomorrow (usually a sea man). I’m close to Limbrick too. Which do you think I should try as a first timer? Thanks
I really recommend the place hope you do well buddy get in that peg ! 👌🏻wrightington over limbrick !
@@WestysAngling Nice one pal. Just did 4 hours this morning, had about 10 or so common/mirrors and a bream. Didn’t get a minute 🤣 Fished on peg 27 a few down from where you was as it was taken. Really enjoyed it. Thanks again 👌🏻
i always fish with my rod tip slighty higher.
i was packing up after a blank session to move pond and left my rod in over back of my chair pointing up .found i got a bite within minutes so i cast back out with rod only on front rest as i was about to set up back rest. got another quick bite so i have always fished this setup ever since . should i change if it is working for me ?
If it’s working for you Greg definitely not ! No right or wrong way to fish 👌🏻🎣
Do you know of any other big perch commercial waters ?. Am looking to do some targeted perch fishing in these winter months and even thinking about the canals also like Leeds and Liverpool with micro jigs .
I’m only just getting into predator fishing myself Adam, so I need to do some exploring in that respect but I will document it on the channel if I find somewhere. High heyes is a commercial that has perch to about 3lb in , I plan to explore canals like Leeds -Liverpool and the river Irwell etc
@@WestysAngling Ahhh nice one will be all over them videos! And never tried high heyes so will note that down cheers 👍
Bradshaw fisheries Bolton have some monster perch 👍🎣
@jsharples5366 which lake ? 🎣
@@WestysAngling used to be the 1st one from carpark not sure of number , give them a ring and they'll sort you 👍
Can I please ask you on your vids I’ve seen you appear to handle fish with your hands dry thought it was a no no
I mean the fish themselves are pretty wet Alan 😂
You talk too much Get on with fishing
Leave me to the TH-cam bit Alex 👌🏻 what I’m doing is clearly working 😂
