    In this video I am looking at 3 USB power adapters. All 100 watts. One is the clear winner, but I didn’t just want to say it in the video for some reason… Bent against being nice in this one. In reality, the good one is the same performance as the Baseus 100W wall adapter. Anyway, watch to find out which one I don’t like for one reason, and why the others I give a pass for being what they are.

    I am really thankful you did a review of a Nomadiq charger. Too bad the voltage drops once you go full throttle otherwise it would have been a really good choice!

      Not a problem. Actually all the devices in this video were suggestions. Some took longer than others. Yeah, because it’s going to struggle on the actual USB side I can’t give the win even though it’s actually very close. They need to adjust that voltage up a bit and it’d be good to go. It’s really way beyond the other two adapters in this video.

    Interesting that you reviewed the Nomadiq unit. We bought half a dozen for our office earlier this year and they've been absolute workhorses for our staff. Charges MacBook Pro's, Dell XPS, Lenovo and all of our iOS/Android phones without any weird voltage issues. Thanks for the review though...interesting!

      Nice! It is good to hear it works with a lot of devices. I think it's one adjustment away from being a great charger, it'll actually gain a little efficiency if they boost the voltage a bit.

    I am very impressed with your Power Adapter tests. I have not seen anyone else who has gone so deeply and thoroughly in their reviews. For example was "power factor correction" an unknown concept to me, before I took part in your tests, very instructive! Finally one question: do you have any plans to do a review on the "AOHi Magcube 140W USB C Charger" with PD3.1? It looks promising on the specs and with it's compact design, but how does is it perform in reality?

      Yeah, I have the 100W Rocoren which was debatable for this video, it didn't make it because it is very different. It is 30w max on one port so lots of low power ports. Very different than the other 100w products. I also have some voltme chargers to review.

Also disappointed that no upstart has disrupted the space from the clutches of anker. The failure rate of the Anker 717 is extremely high. That makes me apprehensive about their entire high-wattage lineup.

    I bought the IDMIX 100W but in a different colour, white. It cost me about USD 18.75 and I have been using it to charge my laptop, mobile phone and Apple Watch since February this year. Pretty solid adapter overall, nothing interesting, nothing to complain about. There are accessories like its guts-clone brother Shargeek that support global travel, but you have to pay extra bucks.

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, the sale deal makes more sense on something like this... That basically covers the extra electricity cost over the lifespan of the product versus a more expensive Anker. The energy is still wasted but money wins.

    Thank you for the video! Couple questions. Does the USB PD mean that the power is more consistent. I am looking for a laptop charger that can output a more consistent 100W to match my gaming laptop power draw. The main plug is a 200w barrel plug but offers 100W PD type c charging. Do you see any issues with battery lifespan when charging and using the laptop at the same time, assuming that most if not all the power is being delivered by the type c charging. Thanks again love to hear what you have to say.

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A laptop battery is pretty large so charging at 100 watts is probably not going to be much of an issue in terms of battery life. What sometimes happens with larger power consuming laptops is they will use some battery and the USB PD at the same time to keep the performance level high. USB PD doesn't mean the power is more consistent, it is a standard for delivering certain amounts of power to devices from power adapters and the negotiation required for that to happen. The standard does have voltage levels and limits for those. One thing about a lot of the 100 watt class USB power adapters is they aren't really made to do 100 watts all day and all night. They tend to over heat. If you really need 100 watts all the time I'd recommend sizing up the power supply a little. 150+ watts total capability.

I noticed that Shargeek and Hyacide have similar charging bricks and they both make a similar looking battery bank that's transparent and allowed you to see the cells and were also some of the first ones I've seen with an multi-color screen before the Anker 737

    I bought KM003C and Shargeek S100P last week and just found out that the spec sheet isn't always straightforward.
    USB C1: Fixed: 5.00V 9.00V 12.00V 15.00V 20.00V
    USB C2: Fixed: 5.00V 9.00V 12.00V 15.00V 20.00V PPS:3.30-11.00V
    USB C3: Fixed: 5.00V 9.00V 12.00V
    The manual says says C1/C2 output but in reality to utilize the full capacity i can only charge my 65W laptop on C1 and 25W Samsung phone on C2 and not vice versa. Still good though I think Anker 737 does best at this class

    Off topic since you might not be able to answer this if I commented on your older videos. I'm planning to get the Anker 736 Adapter to be paired with Anker 737 24000 MaH powerbank for my Steamdeck since it said to be the best of the best. I got confused on how or what is the proper way to charge the powerbank. Do I need to drain it completely then charge it to 100% or instead, do not charge it below 20% and do not charge it all the way to 100%%? Hopefuly I get a response because so far it seems you know a lot about these stuff. I apologize in advance if it might be a stupid question. Thanks!

    • @AllThingsOnePlace
      @AllThingsOnePlace  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For any power bank, if you limit the charge to about 80% of full and don’t discharge below 10% or so you can theoretically extend the life of the batteries. They will always degrade a little every time you charge cycle them but yeah on an expensive power bank like that getting more would be nice. I don’t think there is anyway to do that except set a timer or something to remind you to unplug it after a certain time. Any new comments go to the studio app on any video so I usually will see them if they’re first posts. After that, no idea what happens, haha.

      @@BienTambling Yeah, 10% on the low end so you at least get 70% of the cell capacity. Once on a while when you need all the energy, fully charging isn't a problem. Keeping it fully charged all the time is generally worse for the battery though.
