      Yes, but the injuries owl attacks cause are not similar to those the wife had. And also she was in the house! I find that theory absolutely bonkers.

    We lived as near neighbors with barred owls nesting for 19 years with no difficulty. They're desperate to gain a territory and protect it. Loss of habitat is placing great pressure on apex predators. Try to think of the snakes, rats and mice they devour when they cause frustrations for their human neighbors.

    We live in Sammamish Washington in a wooded area anh have for 36 years.We've heard owls,seen owls but never had any issues until a couple weeks ago.My wife was walking down to our mail box at dusk one evening and got attaked twice.The first attack she got hit so hard it nearly knocked her to the ground and stunned her,the second not as bad but still very traumatic for her.

    It's kind of freaky anytime any type of bird starts dive bombing you because it's so out of the ordinary, but I've never heard of a single instance where an owl drew blood on someone. The attacks are essentially bluffs, but they're done to scare you out of the area and the owls essentially just push down on your head. When it comes to Magpie's they do it when anyone gets in the vicinity of their nest, I wouldn't be surprised inf this was the owl's reasoning as well.

    • @robertschris82
      @robertschris82 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If they were to strike you directly with their talons, you could actually bleed lol.

    Talk to wildlife rehabbers this owl might be rehabbed. It was trying to land on them. See if any owls were recently released? An attack involves talons and beaks. Not just talons. Landing on someone involves just talons.
