You blessed people in no way owed us this, but, it's refreshing for "celebrities" to be so open and honest about their lives. I appreciate you Derek and the wonderful family that you have created. Keep up the good work and God bless.
Well said! What keeps me interested in this channel is that the whole family is involved….vice grip garage, vice grip lodge and little grip garage. Fantabulous!!
Agree 👍 and I think people need to hear the real world decisions, the overheads/costs and the dedication/sacrifice it truly takes to be successful. Success in time for family and rhe truly important and dedication to build something financially. It takes time. Not every TH-camr is a millionaire and nothing happens over night. Well done team. Wish you all the best
As a native Tennessean born and raised in Nashville we are thrilled your family decided to now call this home. Y’all are a bright light in a dark world and I’m so glad to have discovered your channel and tv show. It’s one of the highlights of my week. This is TH-cam gold..when you invite fans behind the scenes and share a little bit of your personal life people can’t help but love the VG channels even more! Seeing your guys success is so awesome and it couldn’t have happened to a more a deserving and hardworking family. ..Jeff
If you can still make your wife laugh uncontrollably just by looking at them you are doing good in life. NEVER and I mean never change Derek and Jessica. I was subbed long before you became big but somehow I knew you were going to shoot off and be able to have a career out of it. By far my favorite channel and family to watch on TH-cam. Can't wait to see more from Jessica, little grip garage and maybe from Bradley if he makes a channel for his rockets or whatever he wants to do. I'm disabled and can't support financially but by golly I will watch every video with ads because you guys deserve it. Thank you guys for your dedication and for the content and genuinely hope you guys are making content for a long time. Or at least till Derek gets his hand stuck in a muffler trying to change a battery.
I too was subbed before big and after catching up on some videos I couldn't understand why VGG wasn't bigger. And coming from a non gear head I'm truly glad I stumbled on VGG.
@@chucks_88 I actually found him while searching for red green show and he reminds me a lot of red green, almost wonder if that's one of his inspirations. Also not gear head but it's always interesting to watch revivals. He's got that perfect balance of comedy and teaching which really draws a fella in.
I can only imagine the amount of laughter you would experience being around Derek for an extended period of time. This dude is just naturally hilarious.
I didn't think i could respect you guys more. I was wrong. The fact the numbers crunched in the right direction is the icing on the cake. You are family first, good hearted, respectful people. I love you guys. DANG IT!!!........Somebody snuck in here and started cutting onions.
the move from Minnesota to Tennessee made sense and your shop is doing well and your channel is doing well which I am happy for you, I like your channel I like the content it's good clean family content, I hope the Lord continues to bless you and your family
Watching you interact with Jessica, allowing her to talk without interruption speaks volumes about the respect you have for her and is just one more reason I continue to watch your channel. And we can't forget funny - you are definitely funny (the beginning, "already in a vapor lock?" hahhah). I'd wish you best of luck but I don't think you need any. You've got the formula. Success is yours. Rock on.
@@925CCARY I never though of it that way. Derek and red kind of resemble each other. It would be funny if Derek had " uncle red " stop by on a short video or something. Remember if the women don't find you handsome, they will find you handy!
The past 2 years have been unbelievably sad. Through it all, your content blessed us immeasurably. A literal escape from certain realities that at times, were just too much to bear. You guys always put family first. We are so proud of you!
Glad things are working out for you. I'm 58 years old and a "little" behind in technology. Yours is the first subscription I ever made on TH-cam. "Lightning hoses" is what hooked me. Lol. Anyway, don't forget to stop and smell the roses sometimes. We'll still be here. ~ Bear
@@toxicity4818 You must be very young. Back during the Winter Olympics in 1994 in Lillehammer Nancy Kerrigan was the “golden girl” expected to win gold in women’s figure skating. Tonya Harding was her chief rival, and surprisingly came from a trailer trash background. Tonya’s husband Jeff Gilooly and maybe another guy and most likely Tonya conspired to physically “take Nancy out” of the competition by attacking her during a practice or preliminary session. The method? Dude hit her in the knee with a small sledgehammer! This was the biggest news story in the world at the time. And in the US it was in the news for months.
@@mattskustomkreations Oh wow, thanks for the explanation. I didn't even think to google it, I had figured the TH just stood for something and he was just throwing a name out there, lol. Yeah, I'm 26, wasn't around to experience that.
@@toxicity4818 it was all anyone could talk about, had all the elements of a made-for-TV movie… which WAS made btw. Never saw it. She also had a ‘leaked’ honeymoon night video tape. Classy.
There are many of us, my self not included (!) who really don’t know the amount of time it takes you to do all of this. Many years ago I bought a hardware store. The first thing people asked me: are you going to take more vacation time? Uh, well, if I want to be broke, sure!! So just running a business is hours weekly. For you, add to the mix of responding to emails and posts, finding and fixing the absolute gorgeous vehicles you find, and swooping in before someone from Barret-Jackson gets there, and the videoing and editing. Thank you so much. I only found this channel recently and it came at a perfect time. My wife, who works, and I who is disabled have been taking care of her parents. In July we lost her mom and her dad isn’t much further behind. I came home from another soul crushing visit to the home where he is now, and found you. I laughed so hard! And I needed that! Finally, I notched you, like myself is a fan of tilt wheel (and not this ridiculous loosen move the wheel and tighten type) Anyway, 40 years ago when I met my wife, I had a 75 Caprice and she liked driving it more than her then new 83 Mustang without tilt. She would always leave the seat forward and the wheel part way down…. Veto So after asking her repeatedly (1 or 2 times anyway) I went out to the car while she was closing, moved the power seat as far forward and as high as it would go, and dropped the wheel. To this day, she gets out and flips the wheel up, gets in and drops it to drive, like a normal person!! Seriously, thank you. Btw, we live in Kingsport. Come on over anytime. You can look over my 76 Mark IV, 78 Thunderbird, 04 Grand Marquis and 18 Sierra truck
The family vibe is the best thing about your channel. Family is important and I am glad that you guys have found a way to make it work. Keep up the great work you guys do
I am blown away and humbled by the fact that the majority of the reasons you moved was for the benefit of VGG. You guys are great. Every episode you make us feel like we're a part of your life and welcoming us to come along for the ride.Thank You for all you do. Happy International Womens Day, Jess!!!
@@hemidart7 yes, but they worked their butts off to get it there. Go back to day one, and watch goofy Derrick learning how to do this. I'm quite impressed with his progress, and so proud of him for including his family and fans.
After watching this I sat down with the wifey and had her watch and we're looking at our future as well. You two are a true inspiration on what's important in life when you work together for all the right reasons. Much love, good luck and success in the future. One of the last life lessons my dad shared with me before he passed two years ago was " As long as you have your health everything else can be fixed"
Visit Franklin Tn just 20 miles south of Nashville and you never want to leave. I'm a Tennessee native and grew up in Nashville, but Franklin is a much better environment for most people. Most of us only go to Nashville for a game or concert everything else is available in Franklin. I'm a realtor so I get to talk to lots of people from other states. Most come to visit and never leave.
That Mrs Vice Grip is a keeper. Supportive, intelligent, thoughtful, good sense of humor. I hope to have a family half as nice some day. Congratulations on the move and the success! Thanks for all the laughs!
No job is worth sacrificing your family. The fact that you ranked your family first is all the fans need to appreciate how genuine and authentic you both are. Thanks for being so vulnerable and transparent about your personal lives. It just goes to show your big hearts and your appreciation for your fans. I cannot wait to see the next video. Keep them coming.
You gotta love how these two interact...they are talking as much to each other as they are to us. It's adorable. Don't tell anyone I said that word. And it's awesome that they would take the time to tell us why they moved. Like someone else said, they didn't have to do that, but that's just the type of people they are. Be sure to give 'em a like, they're definitely worth it.
I'll be honest, I'm happy you guys were able to move where you wanted. My wife and I have noticed several times over the past few months that it appeared you "Derek" had a heavy load removed from your back. Your attitude in your videos have returned to the snappy lighthearted productions we loved when we got hooked on a guy a few years ago! Thanks, guys, for continuing to keep us entertained!
You can definitely see the love and passion in Derek and Jessica's face!! they really do care about their fans! Some of the other TH-camrs need to take a step back and do the same
I find it incredibly heartwarming that any entire family uprooted to move to a place where they could have a good family life and make as much content for us as possible. Thank you guys so much.
relatively new viewer and I'm watching older content. I just wanna say Derek has a guys dream life for sure. awesome family, land, business. quite literally living the American dream. Hope to have a family like his one day. Derek is a role model for sure.
Y'all are arguably the best content creators on TH-cam. The way you include your family and friends, and do hands on things in hopes to teach people is exactly what most of America is missing. Y'all are a diamond in the rough. God Bless you and your family!
I could always tell just from Derek’s demeanor, but this video confirmed that family values, love of cars and enjoyment of turning wrenches is at the heart of VGG! Not your typical TH-camr folks! Much love and prayers for your future success!
I remember when you used to work in your driveway in the neighborhood thinking how out of place it was. It's been great to follow your journey and it's cool to see you're still growing.
When you talked about raising the kids on open land where they can play with the toys (go karts, mini bikes, etc.....), I was nodding my head saying yep, and having outdoor weather almost year round beautiful
Derek, I think you have such a jewel of a wife that helps and supports your dream. Look forward to more awesome content on Vice Grip Garage. Happy for you and your family for enjoying the change.
I seriously loved this. People have pride issues when it comes to admitting these kinds of things. Gained even more respect for your channel. Keep it up, brother. Your hard work has inspired more than you could imagine
My brother and I really enjoy watching what your mechanics and humor you bring. We can't wait for new roadworthy rescues. We are glued to the TV when you come on and glad you moved to Tennessee to give you more time for fun, family and antics. We hope your still showing and rescuing cars when your in your 80ies. God bless from Kentucky.
A coupla years back, I was finishing my basement in Stillwater MN during a polar vortex. -53 low temps. You could visibly see the progression of frost forming on the inside of our newly installed casements. The house went on the market three months later, and the wife, kids & I were on the road to TN two days after we closed :). Its so much better here!
Derek, my wife and I have followed your exploits for ...well gosh a few years now and absolutely love the content that you and your family have put on here, we just moved from ABQ, to Pampa, Texas and love it, the people are so much nicer and I don't have to carry my gun all the time here..thank God! But I want to say thank you, having watched so much I feel like your a family member that I enjoy hanging out with. Best wishes for you guys ❤❤❤
My wife and I left Michigan for many of the same reasons, the biggest being the weather. It was Tennessee or Texas that we were looking at and Texas won out, we've been here for almost 13 years and have never regretted leaving the north. Enjoy your new home and no snotsickles
Born and raised in Detroit.. and I'm so tired of the salt and wind. I don't blame you one bit. I really want to buy a car that isn't immediately riddled with rust.
I can’t imagine how much work goes in to these channels so it’s heartwarming to hear you’ve made the change not only for the weather and the costs but because of the whole families quality of life. What a warm, genuine good ol’ fashioned lovely couple you guys are and what an amazing upbringing your boys are having. All the best from the U.K. Jon
You saved my life you have no idea what I was going through with this stay home pandemic.I watched your videos and it was like I was fixing cars with you.God bless you and your family stay safe.
I had 6 surgeries last year and watched VGG on my laptop in my rooms. I even started referring to myself as "a guy" which none of the doctors/nurses understood. I would tell the "A guy could use some pain medicine" and they looked at me like I had a toad's head. VGG made time pass by quickly; a good thing at that point in my life.
Out all the reasons you mentioned on why you moved, the most important thing that struck me was when you said you wanted to produce a show that will educate a person. Hollyweird has nothing to see worth anything. I never watch TV. My entertainment is youtube. I'm 73 and still learn stuff from you. You guys do a great job. Thanks a bunch.
I'm in my 30s and I think the exact same. The drive to educate others even in some silly way is invaluable. Hollyweird at least used to tell us (decades ago) relatable stories, some involving true life lessons through the lens of others and things you could ponder and take with you... Now it's all but gone, vapid nonsense.
When you grew up on country air, and with plenty of green around you, even if you leave for a while, you’re never really “gone”. My Dad passed away in December, and I wound up moving back home to my grandparents place, an hour away from the city, where Dad had been living, and I FORGOT how nice rural life is - driving an old Ford truck up and down country roads on pleasant evenings or killing time in a country junkyard pulling parts? You can’t beat that. Happy for you!
Sorry about your loss. There’s nothing like rural life and beach town life. I moved from a beach town to the city and man I miss home so much. Been looking at finding ways to get back there eventually. Downside is my parents want to retire from the beach and move to rural. Growing up is insanely tough sometimes. Anyway. Keep on truckin friend. And enjoy those rural roads when you can.
This is awesome. When a guy gets to see the family more and get more done. That’s a win win. I’m sure your channel is going to continue being just awesome!
You know the internet and TH-cam has a LOT wrong with it but seeing folks like this have success is worth watching it. I have a son and law and we are always talking about your content. We live in Arkansas. You can have all the cars you want....on blocks if you want. These folks should have a million subscribers. I hope they get filthy rich off this channel. And as one final note, the rural lifestyle is absolutely the best. Especially in this day and age. This whole restriction on property use is getting ridiculous and I think there will eventually be a back lash over it.
I miss knowing you guys were just a few miles away from me in Wisconsin, but I get why you moved and am happy for you all. Remember that God has blessed you, I pray for you.
Congrats on a well thought out decision. Centralization, weather, no state income tax, relatively cheap acreage, lower cost of living and an anticipated reduction in work hours sounds like a winning combination for the family life. Be careful on the last one- it takes a change in mindset to reduce the number of hours devoted to the work thing. If a guy doesn’t prioritize the family hours, there is always more work to just suck up the time! Derek, the last sentence was me using some of your words to explain what I did way too much of while my kids were growing up. We don’t get that time back to try again.
You two deserve everything and more that comes your way, you both are so real down to earth folks, that entertain us and bring smiles to our faces, the true measure of a couple is there children if they have them, and your young men are stellar individuals that shine kinda like some of that fancy chrome stuff
I just realized you are one of the greatest strait faced comedians ever! That obviously a big part of your charm. I hope that you all have continued success!
It appears that your move to Tennessee was most definitely for all of the right reasons. I lived in New Hampshire for the majority of my life and moved to Kentucky last Spring for many of the same reasons as yourselves. My wife was originally from Florida and spent the last 32 years with me in New Hampshire dealing with the cold and snow, lots and lots of snow. We miss our friends from New Hampshire but are rapidly making new friends here in Kentucky. There is so much history here, and natural beauty is everywhere, plus the cost of living is so much better than up North, but most importantly, there is so much less snow. Vice Grip Garage has been the best quality entertainment I can find on the TH-cam Channel. Thank you for providing that level of wholesome, down to earth and inspiring programming. I get lots of nods here while I'm wearing my VGG hats, so it appears that you have quite a following here in Kentucky.
I've criss-crossed the country as first a rig welder and now an inspector. I don't think you could have made a better choice. Also, I found the people in Tennessee to be so friendly and helpful. Love all your channels, you guys are real people, and I'm looking forward to meeting you all one day!
The most likable people on my iPad. Also, I love how Derek knows everything, and when all goes to crap he doesn’t get angry. Thanks for the awesome videos
WE LOVE YOU AND THE FAMILY HERE ON VGG!!!!!! You guys didn’t owe us an explanation as to why you moved, but I can say I’m so thankful it has granted you guys so much more!!!! You work so hard and you deserve a break. The content is amazing
Derek and Jessica, don't ever feel pressured to get content out. I'm glad you made the right choice to spend more time with family, but I wouldn't be a good fan if I didn't say I'd feel really bad if you took away precious time with the kiddos. I moved to where I moved to from the cold midwest to the desert now, for the same reason. I can run dot-legal drag slicks in the middle of winter and not have a concern in the world of black ice.
You guys are worth a zillion to me. For a women I've learned so much and grateful because I'm now interested in the outs of a vehicle now that I'm older. I love seeing the whole family involved including your friends.
Quite possibly the most wholesome channel on youtube. A true inspiration for fellow parents. And people in general. You guys are really amazing. My wife and I watch everything. And so does our 18 month old. Honestly I feel at times like Derrick and i are kindred spirits. If more people were like you i think America just might be a better place. Hopefully we get the opportunity to meet someday. Living in indiana currently i cant wait to get back to Tampa bay. And maybe see you at the track. Keep doing what you do. And what you reap will continue to be what you have sewn. And remember. Mind open, heart enlarged, soul receptive. Mahalo my friends
I don’t do mechanical work , I do wooden toys for children and watching you indeed motivates me to do more in my shop. Thank you for all you do and keep up the good work.
Love your content, from someone who has lived & breathed cars all of my working life and having a grown up family let me tell you, you are making the absolute best decision here, make as much time for your kids as you can because in the blink of an eye they're gone and even though that in it's self becomes a delight with grandchildren etc it's easy to regreat not spending time & enjoying family life.
Family time alone is reason enough, if you ask me. Love the content you put out Derek Jessa. I haven't met you all yet (maybe one day coming from MT), but this is exactly why you're one of my favorite channels.
I wish you could heart videos on this platform. A like just doesn't seem good enough. You guys are the most raw, pure, attention grabbing, and entertaining folks on TH-cam. I'm glad everything is working out for you in TN, you deserve every bit of the growth you've gained on TH-cam. Keep up the fantastic work and I'll see you in the next video!
As someone who originally lived in Wis and now lives in TN, these reasons all track. I was living in Upstate NY at the time, and the cost of living was even more than WI and the weather was about the same. With the better cost of living, weather, centrally located for doing my business, TN looked very nice to move to. I keep thinking about moving back to WI for family, but then I look at the cost and snow and remember why I'm in TN. So, no, I am not surprised at all. Welcome to TN!
Yeah I'm from Ann arbor, and live north of Knoxville. Lol the no snow is probably top of the list 🤣 Yeah property taxes are a joke and the cola is nice
I’m not surprised he didn’t say anything about that garbage Democratic governor because he’d probably get demonetized by TH-cam but that’s the main reason Wisconsin sucks. Of corse there’s a tax on everything democrats love their taxes but swear they are for the middle class. Crazy how the middle class suffers the most under democratic leadership and yet still people vote for them.
Just recently accepted a job and am moving my family from Iowa to Huntsville Alabama and you guys helped make that possible! I have been thinking it for awhile and decided to make the leap!
You guys did a great job in hiding that struggle I never knew you were so spread out up north. Definitely glad things are better for you now!!! Love the channel!!!! Best on you tube
I actually breathed a sigh of relief for you guys when you moved to TN and got a shop on your property. I always thought “wow it has to be a pain to drive 2 hours a day to get to the shop and home. Good on ya. Been a fan since the 307 build.
Lived in Tennessee for 25 years, loved every minute of my time there. Always enjoy your interesting vocabulary and approach to repair challenges. You remind me of an uncle of mine who could take apart, fix, reassemble almost anything mechanical, Best of luck going forward.
I regret not being trained to fix vehicles, let alone having the strength to do so, and/or the money to do so, in my life. However, if I did drive, then at least I would have the common sense to choose the right people to fix the vehicle.
I've only known about VGG for the past couple months wend a band mate introduced me to the channel, but I think the family aspect is the most important one, and I see it on the channel. I can see that you love your family Derek and being away from them is hard. To be in an area where you can do more work in less time so you can spend more time with your family is important. You've not only inspired me to work on my vehicle projects, but to strive to be a better father and husband.
Congratulations on a really great series of programs. Your droll delivery, your wonderful off the cuff comments, your immense knowledge of matters mechanical have kept me in awe for the last year or so. I am glad that you have made a move that will allow you to continue to do great things and also to not have to freeze in winter. I am in Australia and a lot of the vehicles you are working on were never available here. But several of the Mopar vehicles reminded me of my father's VC Chrysler Valiant which I learned to drive on. That Torque Flite transmission was a ripper behind the 225 Slant Six. My mother drove a Morris Minor for many years. 803cc of raw power. When we bought the Valiant she decided it was too powerful for her and she would continue to drive the Morris. One day I was driving the Morris and she had to go somewhere so she drove the Valiant. She never drove the Morris again. She loved to burn people off at the lights. She said " I just push the pedal and they are all left behind." Mike
What a great story! Not many of those cars on the road here in NZ either but it's still great to watch this channel. I do remember admiring those Valiant Chargers when I was a kid, and the old Falcons. Glad I'm not driving one now though, with petrol at $3 per litre & predicted to hit $4 by Christmas...
Being from northern Minnesota myself it was great to have a "local" guy making so much great content but i can totally relate to the tax burdens in the state and the weather! 😆keep up the great work!
What tax burdens? In Minnesota, we tax the wealthy to reinvest in our state's excellent eduation system. We currently have a budget surplus that we will plow back into help for small businesses. Minnesota consistently is rated among the top 3 best states in which to live and work. Your slight about our tax system is misinformed at best.
I agree with all of your reasons. I spent 3 days in Minnetonka in February and holy moly, brutal freaking cold and snow and I’m from a state that has cold winters. Your relocation has definitely helped the channels grow exponentially and seems to have helped your “home life” improve too. Thank you both for all you do.
Hey guys, I'm so glad you moved honestly. Only a few hours from me. The hospitality of Tennessee is unmatched. Love the content you two and the boys put out. Thanks for all the hard work. Welcome y'all!
You both exude this wholesome energy that is absolutely delightful, God bless you both and thank you so much for sharing so much of your lives with all of us!
I never once asked myself why you would move. Honestly it's none of my business. I felt like you did exactly what was best for your family. I applaud what you've done. It's only your own choice where you live and what you do. Much love to you and your family.
So happy to see you, your family thriving and succeeding! Couldn’t happen to better people! Love the content and always look Forward to the next episode! Thank you for working so hard !
I had a friend from Minnesota I met when I was living in The Phoenix area. He was from Brainerd I think, and he had a similar sense of humor and he was so fun to hang out with. I guess when you’re stuck inside and there’s feet of snow, you gotta make the best of it.
Its pretty apparent how meant to be you guys are. Its pretty cool to see that you guys are friends and true partners. Its really cool that you make each other laugh, its very important for your boys to see that too! Thanks for sharing your lives!
Hi Derick, Jessica, every single point you you made about the move makes perfect sense. if it makes life better for you and your family that is all that matters. Great to see Jessica laughing at Derick been Derick. I appreciate all your hard work keeping us guys and gals entertained.
Hi Derek and Jessica, You allways put a smile on my and my wifes faces. I get what you both are saying it took me too many years to see that family is so important. I love your video’s and am so amazed there‘s a person in this world who can talk Non-Stop 😂. From all people i see on you tube and car programs you would be the ones i‘d love to meet and say hi to. Greetings from the Netherlands Steven and Charlotte ❤

Derek and Jessica sure seem like decent, hard working, honest folks who have managed to create an entertaining and enlightening channel! That's just a guess. VGG is a special gift to all of us! My 1967 and 1968 Chevy Vans love the weather here in AZ ...mostly.
i think i speak for others as well as myself when i ask that you thank your children and wife for us, for them sharing you with the world. your comment about not seeing them as much hit home and i can relate to not seeing my father alot as a child and what it meant when i did spent time with with him. i know your boys and wife are sacrificing a lot of time without you for the show you provide and i just hope yall know it means alot to some if not all of us. greatly appreciative for knowledge
Well you know being this open, honest, and answering fans questions will only only...only make you have hecka lot more fans and the ones that are already fans love you guys even more. Stay the course and Thanks for all y'all do from way down here in Texas! 👍
Amen to that. Another state starting with "T" is the only other, better place they could've went. Boy do them wrenches get lava hot out in the sun though, but burning "CRAFTSMAN" from a combination wrench into your palm is a badge of honor. hehehe
Whatever makes y'alls lives more enjoyable and convenient while bringing the family even closer, which in turn brings us more content. That's a win win all the way around my friend!
Appreciate the transparency on how hard ya work.. a lot of people might say “a million subscribers, must be nice” without tipping a hat to endless hours and dollars invested for years with a hope and a prayer that it pays off some day
Outstanding, proud of y'all, I can really relate to kids growing up in the country vs the city, just a drive down some old country back road see a 7,8,9, 10 year old cutting grass on a riding lawnmower or tractor knowing that kid is going to be well rounded in all things in life....Best thing my father ever did was move us to a small town. I'm sure the boys will thank you later on in life.
We welcome you to Tennessee! In fact, from watching your channel now from the time you began. I feel confident in saying. Tennessee is better with you and your beautiful family in it. May God bless you and family. Keep up the awesome content. And as always, looking forward to the next video.
Jessica at the start laughing uncontrollably at Derek, 'Are you vapor locking already!' Priceless! 😂
Idk why that caught me off guard, but I was cracking up at that line. It's why I watch.
That's the love language the two of them have in common, cute as the dickens.
I thought that was the cutest moment.
Derek said, “I didn’t even say anything.”
Probably tooted, which is why she had to leave
Put a clothes pin on her Derek, (if you don't know ask your grandpa

This is TH-cam gold..when you invite fans behind the scenes and share a little bit of your personal life people can’t help but love the VG channels even more! Seeing your guys success is so awesome and it couldn’t have happened to a more a deserving and hardworking family. ..Jeff
Very happy for you and the family Derek. Warmer weather and having some land can definitely do something for a fella or fellette. God bless you all!!!
This is a collab that needs to happen! Troy, I’ve been watching you for what feels like almost a decade. You and Derek would get along great!
Big fan of both channels.
🤙🤙🤙
Eating a T-Roy cooks potato soup while watching some VGG content. Surprised to see you here.
Derek I’m surprised you didn’t mention the allure of southern cooking!!!
@@rogerbloxham5381 I very unfortunately hadn't heard of T-ROY COOKS until right now. I'm checking it out. I musta been living under a rock.
Same here
I feel the same!
I too was subbed before big and after catching up on some videos I couldn't understand why VGG wasn't bigger. And coming from a non gear head I'm truly glad I stumbled on VGG.
Yeah, that line about "Vapour Locking" I lost it almost as much as Jessica....
@@chucks_88 I actually found him while searching for red green show and he reminds me a lot of red green, almost wonder if that's one of his inspirations. Also not gear head but it's always interesting to watch revivals. He's got that perfect balance of comedy and teaching which really draws a fella in.
I absolutely can not get enough of your videos. Glad you are in Tennessee.
I can only imagine the amount of laughter you would experience being around Derek for an extended period of time. This dude is just naturally hilarious.
The US of A needs more people like Derrick and Jessica. God bless you and thank you for the top quality content!
That's the truth !!
Absolutely!
95% of the people in the US are like the folks. Especially in Tn, NC,SC
Rock on.
She'll kick his ass and he knows it! LOL!! j/k

She respects his grind.

He had me at calling sledgehammers “Tonya Hardings”. 😅
I have yet to figure out what tonya harding stands for 😂
@@toxicity4818 You must be very young.

Finally, I notched you, like myself is a fan of tilt wheel (and not this ridiculous loosen move the wheel and tighten type)
Anyway, 40 years ago when I met my wife, I had a 75 Caprice and she liked driving it more than her then new 83 Mustang without tilt. She would always leave the seat forward and the wheel part way down…. Veto
So after asking her repeatedly (1 or 2 times anyway) I went out to the car while she was closing, moved the power seat as far forward and as high as it would go, and dropped the wheel.

It's people like you, Derrick, and your wife and kids that make me proud to be an American.

I randomly came across this TH-cam channel and completely fell in love this is my favorite channel of all, I can’t get enough, thanks for all you do!
When you talked about raising the kids on open land where they can play with the toys (go karts, mini bikes, etc.....), I was nodding my head saying yep, and having outdoor weather almost year round beautiful

Sorry to hear about that. Keep breathing that good country air.
Just looking up at all the stars at night is amazing. Rural people can see a thousand times more stars at night. Wow!
I live and grew up in East Tennessee. We love that you all chose to live in Tennessee. Time with family is so important. You made the right decision.
Sounds like you’ve made the perfect decision, family and home life should always come first. Hope you guys are settling in and enjoying life .
The love you guys have is just so rare to see. And the commitment to the family is incredible. All the luck!
You two deserve everything and more that comes your way, you both are so real down to earth folks, that entertain us and bring smiles to our faces, the true measure of a couple is there children if they have them, and your young men are stellar individuals that shine kinda like some of that fancy chrome stuff
fancy chrome stuff. LOL Yep, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Well said, they have some great young men.
Thanks Derrick and Jessica for taking the time to tell us all what you need to do for family togetherness, much appreciated 🙏🙏😎
I've criss-crossed the country as first a rig welder and now an inspector. I don't think you could have made a better choice. Also, I found the people in Tennessee to be so friendly and helpful. Love all your channels, you guys are real people, and I'm looking forward to meeting you all one day!

Lol the no snow is probably top of the list 🤣
Yeah property taxes are a joke and the cola is nice
You remind me of an uncle of mine who could take apart, fix, reassemble almost anything mechanical,
Best of luck going forward.
Your show and channel is the only car show my wife will watch with me. Your style, personality and sense of humor is wonderful. Thank you!
Hey guys, I'm so glad you moved honestly. Only a few hours from me. The hospitality of Tennessee is unmatched. Love the content you two and the boys put out. Thanks for all the hard work. Welcome y'all!

I’m glad I found this channel, can’t help but love these two.
Love the content and always look

These 2 were meant to be together I can tell they have a great relationship and their kids are great kids too. That says a lot about them.

Derek and Jessica sure seem like decent, hard working, honest folks who have managed to create an entertaining and enlightening channel! That's just a guess. VGG is a special gift to all of us! My 1967 and 1968 Chevy Vans love the weather here in AZ ...mostly.
Great family style content in a world of non family stuff. Thank you guys for this. Keep it up!!
i think i speak for others as well as myself when i ask that you thank your children and wife for us, for them sharing you with the world. your comment about not seeing them as much hit home and i can relate to not seeing my father alot as a child and what it meant when i did spent time with with him. i know your boys and wife are sacrificing a lot of time without you for the show you provide and i just hope yall know it means alot to some if not all of us. greatly appreciative for knowledge
Boy do them wrenches get lava hot out in the sun though, but burning "CRAFTSMAN" from a combination wrench into your palm is a badge of honor. hehehe
Love your channel. I was a mechanic for 16 years of my life, had my own garage once. Wish you all the best in TN.
