Phew, this took longer than expected. I wanted to use "Moon" for the Turn A segment, but that got the video blocked.
For the people wondering why *insert old Gundam* isn't on the list, I kept some obvious picks (I'm looking at you IBO), for a possible second part.
Well the list will have atleast a cop out all IBO Gundams part
Kakarot197 I love Exia and Mk ii. For me personally I think the MK II is such an underrated Gundam given what it was able to accomplish in both Zeta and ZZ Gundam.
Where is AGE-1 Flat? Hahaha. Well, i always like Strike because of it's Striker Pack system, making it can be used for any situation. Btw i'm thinking will u talk about the upcoming SD Gundam G Generation Crossrays game? I'm interested with your opinion about that game

Well the gusion was originally a brewers suit that fought tekkedan a couple times. Captured by the turbines and rebuilt as the rebake and given to tekkeden. Then was upgraded to full city in season 2

We have never seen what Repair II looks like.
Its kinda nice to see mobile suits just keep getting repaired as time goes on instead of a completely new MS. Grump is another good one.

The fact that tallgeese is very capable to keep up with the gundams despite being the grandpa Mobile Suit in AC is really worth mentioning, not only that but the reason zechs ditched it out wasn't because the machine felt outdated but rather how damaged it was from being stored dissasembled for decades to the point that truly repair and restore the tallgeese was just shy of making a new one, proof of that is that Tallgeese II and III only had updated thrusters, weapons and modified armor plates, the rest of the suit were made to Tallgeese original specs.
Yes, I expected the Tallgeese 1 to be on the list. There were other Gundams which rose to overcome it, along with an almost-as-old Zero, but at the time it was deployed it was seriously like watching Gran Torino busting up the new gangsters
It was only the grandpa to the first 5 gundams and the epyon since the plans for wing zero were made shortly after tallgeese was first made

Well it follows the philosopy that War brings upon extreme technological advances. In the current IBO timeline, it is a period of relative peace with just small isolated conflicts.so technology kinda staggered.

Turn A Gundam is still the most powerful Gundam I know of till this day. But I still think it’s design is ugly. And Wingzero will always be my favorite Gundam of all time.

One I was sure you'd mention is the Gundam Age 1. It saw combat for around 50 years and was still able to kick ass at the end with the Glansa equipment. It was still around in a museum even after it's pilot was long gone.
Well the Federation did mass produced the Age 1.

This is the best thing about gundam. The designs all age *so* damn well.
Tallgeese still has the cleanest lines and best look out of any of them, that centurion comb with the clean white paintjob.
Additionally, after the Exia's GN Drive was destroyed in the battle with the 0 Gundam, Celestial Being continued to use it. Without a GN Drive, it was equipped with a GN Battery tank similar to what the 0 Gundam was sporting before Ribbons Almark grabbed one of the Drives from 00 and planted it in the 0 Gundam. Because of this, the Exia was no longer suitable for close range combat, since it no longer had a large enough particle supply to keep up in that type of battle. That's why the Exia Repair III has a GN Long Rifle on the left arm. The Exia R3 was used alongside the CB Flag as Setsuna's go to mobile suits between the events of S2's finale and the beginning of the movie.
Then It become the Graham Gundam. Which seems like a close range MS again. Exia R4.....still use even after the ELS conflict

@@danialhuzri they haven't mentioned what the Exia R4's power source is. But considering the return of its CQC role and having a pilot proficient in that fighting style, I can guess CB got enough resources to create the new GN drive model used on the 00 QuanT to power Graham's new machine
I think by the time of the movie, GN condenser tech has improved to a point were it can operate at the same performance as a GN drive, but with a time-limit.
@@josephmcsticc164 It also helped that between the end of S2 and the Movie, the UN gained access to true GN drives, which further improved their tech, and allowed mass production of the drives themselves.
The Cow in Turn A is so great they released it in MG 1/100 form with the added Turn A Gundam as a bonus.
That Exia return in season 2 was epic and unforgettable
Don't forget the Exia R3 and the upcoming Exia R4. I know some people may take this as more milking of Setsuna's suits but damn. The Exia is timeless Mobile Suit and I love it to pieces.

People often forgot how good Kira as a pilot was due to overwhelmingly strong Freedom/Strike Freedom.
Not only he had to contend with experienced pilots he also had to fight aces/red coats on his first year on war.

That and the Tallgeese were my favorites in the series.
Regarding Wing Zero, the video said that it tended to overwhelm its pilots with information, but it neglected to mention that also some of it reacted to the pilot's thoughts, so anyone whose actions and thoughts weren't aligned were literally fighting against the system

Exia is always powerful, it gets repaired 4th time, that's how strong exia's base is. what makes it lost to new mobile suit in first season is the lack of Setsuna's skill, he's still immature and had few combat hour.

I'd say that the AGE-1 from Gundam Age was still capable of kicking ass. Plus, it lasted almost 50 years of combat, and only around the end started showing its age.
Zudah, because a grunt suit as old as the Zaku 1 once upgraded was able to tangle with gundams. Talk about Zero to Heero
Remember that in the show it was not even upgraded just re-branded, they didn't fix anything on it and still kicked ass

I would say the Zudah with a pilot that could get the most out of it, could in theory tangle with a gundam (not amuro) with a good chance of winning or stalemate it.

Turn A had the weirdest shape, but was one of my fav due to how powerful it was as well as its mysterious power.
I have a hard time finding any media on the Turn A series :( from what I've read it sounds like an interesting era in the Gundam franchise. I do still like how in the Wing series the Zero is explained right off the bat that it was a Gundam that was older than the original 5, rather than burying that fact late or being too subtle.
We all know that the 0 gundam had a "draw" over the exia out of respect for the rx 78

@@akaneriyun4774 To me, In pilot battle, Setsuna won while Ribbon lost since he's dead. In gundam battle however, both gundam got destroyed equally bad so it looks like a draw between the gundams.
You know you forgot one more side version of the Strike: the Perfect Strike seen in the SEED remaster.

The Strike Rouge did not have that red/pink color due to the more powerful battery. When Kira borrows it to get to the Strike Freedom Gundam, his first move was to reprogram the phase-shift armour's colors to his own colors. Only the fligth pack remained pink because it had no phase shift armour.

The Strike Gundam and the Duel Gundam was probably the few designs from Gundam SEED that were nicely made instead of the mostly over saturated designs like the Freedom or Destiny, Strike should have been used through the full run of SEED
You may missed something. The oldest out of 5 original gundam in Seed is Duel, and it also one of two originals which curbstomped two newest gundam survive at the end of Seed without significant damage. The Assault Shroud "upgrade" basically just jury rigged Duel with extra thruster, plate armors, a shoulder gun with no significant impact on battlefield rather than just an extra hand to blow its opponent face in close combat, and also kinda forgotten puny missile launcher.
Also, from the latest official footage from Sunrise, Turn A (the all white dark history version) now probably about a million years old and still piloted by a same entity! As Lalah Sune described, Turn A is lying dormant somewhere on earth and awaken every hundred thousand years just to reset every humanity has ever reach in that time span (UC, AC, CE, etc.) back to stone age.

Can we bring up the fact that both Turn-A and X are likely semi-sentient? After being abandoned by their pilots the two despite their critical damage are seen still trying to overpower each other. Old or not if the extra material for Turn-A is canon then the two machines at their prime were truly terrifying machines with technology reaching levels of sci-fi series like Star trek or Star Wars.
Perhaps for the best neither side had the knowledge to bring out their potentials, accidentally turning on the moonlight butterfly was bad enough.
The Moonlight Butterfly that wiped out all technology on the Earth and Moon (unless deep in mountain bases, underwater bases, and/or specially treated with nano-machines) was only 20% of its full power.
At 100%, it can cover everything from Earth to Jupiter.

Considering that Devil Gundam literally operates on it own, it's practically a child play to create sentient MS at that point for those that made the Turn X units especially since it was mass produced grunt ms. So yeah it's very likely they both sentient somewhat.

The Exia was then rebuilt again as the Rebuild 3 for 00V Senki. THEN rebuilt AGAIN in Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Festival 10 "Re:vision" as the Rebuild 4! this time with Graham Aker piloting it.
So ya, It has existed for pretty much the entire AD Saga
For me it was the Gundams piloted by the G-boys in Gundam Wing as that's the first Gundam series that I ever watched. So I'm happy that you got Wing Zero in there. Scary but awesome.

Honestly only because of the Zero system. A machine that can predict the future is incredibly powerful. You could install the zero system on a Leo and it would be godly. Still I think Zero looks amazing, the neo-bird mode never really came back in future gundam series but the transformations were awesome.

I've always loved all the Gundam Development Project (0083) Gundams , especially GP-01fb Zephyranthes Full-vernier, GP03S Stamen/Dendrobium, and the one that gets forgotten: The GP04G Gerbera. Who knows what mobile suits might have been developed if all the research and development hadn't been erased? And we know the Stamen survived, even if it was damaged.

The Exia is still alive in its R3 form. And its now being piloted by Graham Aker who somehow survived smashing into a planet and became half ELS in the process. He calls it the Graham Gundam.

If I was going to make a list base on the lore/physical/psychological impact these machine had on the series, it would be:
1: Turn A Gundam (2000 yrs +) - Because of the Moonlight Butterfly (reset humanity's technology.)
2: Any surviving Gundam Frame from IBO with an Alaya Vijnana pilot (300 yrs+/-) - (A machine designed to kill humanity killing machines on an extinction level. )
3: Age 1 Normal/variants (50-100 yrs) - Only because it was able to still go toe to toe against two 50 years more advanced machine at the start for the Asemu arc, but required modernization to remain relevant near the end of the series. (The Vagan took how many year looking for this machine to steal its technology? Here's a hint, where would I store vintage classic car.)
(4 is still a toss up for me)
4A. Gundam X (15 yrs) - Satellite Cannon, enough said. If you can win a fight without pulling the trigger, I am speechless. (But that buff only work on Jamil - Gundam X ep 22)
4B. Wing Gundam Zero (15 yrs +/-). Already explained in the video. (IT'S A GUNDAM)
5. Gundam Exia (5 yrs +) - Already explained in the video going from R1-R4 and it will not die. (Tis only a flesh wound).
Runner Up - Strike Gundam - Explained Already in the video.
But we all know real winner is the Corin Nander Red Kapool with the Rocket Punch.
No ZZ Gundam it as its pilot was still kissing during late UC with Crossbone and Victory
Gundam Barbatos also fits the bill and probably reach the top of this list in it's original form in kicking ass.
Well it only needs a suitable pilot to kick ass it even destroyed 2 grazes easily he could have destroyed the entire platoon if they did not retreat
Exia was such an awesome suit that even after getting severely damaged it would have one final battle with the main villain and it was awesome!

That was during the first war when it's performance was only exceeded by a grand total of 6 machines, it was still more powerful than the grunt suits and nowhere outdated as it literally had just been modified at that point by Morgenroete to use all 3 striker packs concurrently, that wasn't in the original spec due to power constraints.

Codename1 1 and the original strike was destroyed at the end of the first bloody valentine war, it’s the rouge that appeared in destiny
Wait, the Strike Rouge was red because of the settings of the OS to better accommodate Cagalli and her inferior piloting skills. When Kira took the Strike Rouge, he changed the OS settings to his specifications which alter the look of the Gundam's PS armor.
Phase shift armor settings determine color, not the Operating System. Kira altered the color settings out of nostalgia.
PS armor settings fall under the umbrella of the OS settings. Its pretty intertwined.
san changing the colors has nothing to do with adjusting the operating system. You can alter the colors without changing anything else. This is readily available information if you bother to look. The colors also have something to do with the strength of the phase shift armor, though that part is vague.
@@skeith1543 It's determined by the voltage iirc. Murdock asks about the voltage settings in the ep Kira get's the Strike Freedom, and he tells him to use the same settings as the Strike.
Also, Phase-Shift Armor became kind of outmoded by the second half of the First Bloody Valentine War due to the widespread proliferation of MS-scale beam weaponry amongst all three of the major factions, as the original intent of Phase-Shift Armor was to render a machine that has it immune to the weaponry of ZAFT's GINN, whose arsenal was almost purely kinetic in nature. Prior to ZAFT's assault on Heliopolis and the capture of four of the five G-Weapons, the only beam weapon they had available for their MS was the "Barrus Kai" Heavy Ion Cannon, which was classified as anti-ship/anti-fortification equipment and, as such, seldom deployed. The capture of the four G-Weapons lead to the delaying of the GuAIZ's deployment and the testbed development of the CGUE DEEP Arms in order to make the most of the newly acquired tech. This is to contrast the Earth Alliance, who obviously had this tech from the start for use with their Dagger-series Mobile Suits and ORB, who yoinked the tech from the Earth Alliance around the same time as the G-Weapon Project for their own Astray Project.
By the time of Phantom Pain's assault on Armory One and the subsequent onset of the Second Bloody Valentine War, the only projectile weaponry still used by Mobile Suits are CIWS, Missiles, the occasional Bazooka and/or Railgun, and the Recoilless Cannons of the Doppelhorn Striker. If Kira did more than simply alter the color of the Strike Rouge's Phase Shift armor when he took the machine up into space to bail out the Eternal and acquire Strike Freedom, I'd imagine he lowered the protection value back to the level of the original strike in order to have as much energy as possible for the energy weapons as Phase-Shift armor would be hard-pressed to stop a beam of sufficient power. Add in that part of the Strike Rouge's stronger battery comes from an Energy Extender that enhances the machine's overall energy efficiency, and lowering the amount of energy consumed by the armor would've significantly increased Strike Rouge's overall combat endurance in Kira's hands.

Say what you will about Seed, Strike Gundam is one of my favorite Gundams ever. It's pure adaptability combined with Some even better packs (Lightning Striker, Gunbarrel Pack, ISWP), Makes it one of the most dangerous MS ever made.

From Seed, I would have to go Buster Gundam. It is what a mid/long range Gundam should be and it could fit very well in the UC with next to no modifications.

@@valsioncustom The Duel is pretty good, although I find it as a slightly more focused version of the Strike. Kinda due so to its more generic style till it gets its Assault Shroud. Personally, the Duel should of at least had a stronger melee focus like Exia.
Yeah, I came up with a custom design using the Mk. II as a base, mainly for its movable frame! I wanted the manoeuvrability, but counteracted its weak armour by incorporating the GN Shield/bubble that is the signature of Seravii, it sporting two GN Drives a la 00, but uprated its weapons with Freedom's hip-mounted railguns and twin GN Swords! It also has NO Beam Sabres, it doesn't need them, but it does have insane mid- to long-range capabilities!

Actually, the Wing Gundam Zero is only about equal to latter half Universal Century, like Gundam F91 tech. (The ZERO System is basically a combination of the old EXAM System from Blue Destiny, and the bio-computer of F91.)
It only *seems* OP in the AC universe because a vast majority of other mobile suits are either outdated or easy-to-adapt-to mobile doll units.

Wing Gundam Zero's reactor output is only 3,732 kW (nothing contradicts this as far as I can find), but the Griepe, yes, has 18,945 kW.
Colonies in Gundam Wing are practically tin cans though as it seemed like every other big weapon was capable of destroying them in one shot, even a secondary beam cannon on Barge.
The Gundam F91 is 4,250 kW and its VSBRs at slower speeds easily rival Wing Gundam Zero's buster rifle size and, like I said, the ZERO System is basically half the EXAM System from Blue Destiny (in terms of making the mobile suit go berserk) and half the F91's bio-computer (feeding combat data directly into the pilot's brain).
I have always loved it in Gundam stories when they bust out an older machine showing that it is not always the new shiny machine that will grant you victory but who is in the pilot seat.
I think the best kind of Gundam isn’t a gimmicky one except for screwing with targeting and corrupting missile guidance. Rather, one that is basically a super soldier: hard to kill, precise, with high speed and mobility and agility combined with high-penetration weaponry. It doesn’t have to be able to wipe out armies in one shot. It just needs to be functionally unstoppable.
Dude all of the ibo gundams were 300 years old and they were able to beat all of the latest models from gjallerhorn like it was nothing.
because gjallarhorn manufactured 'economy' versions of the valkyrja, which in turn were 'economy' version of the legendary 72 gundam frames. remember, only the 72 gundam frames are the mobile suits in PD that had 2 reactors, the rest only had 1.
Don't blame you on the gundam Mk 2, despite more so of a throwaway for its time, it was still a pretty awesome mobile suit and the design to it was pretty cool looking, similar to the Barbatos lupus it had that kind of bulky but slim look to it which was great. Lastly the real grade kit for it is a fantastic model to build and great overall.
As for personal favorite......I can't help but continue to say the wing zero is still my all time favorite mobile suit and gundam especially the Proto zero. A lot of it has to come down to design, there's just something about it that always catches my eye ore than most like its a perfect mixture of a war bot and a super robot I guess.
A note, the GN-X was delivered alongside the 30 GN-Tau drives.
