What I want you to understand is just how much this song, your voice, the beat did for me as a native NYC girl experiencing a very rough life/teen in the 90’s. There are no words for how you helped elevate me EVERY time I hear this song.
Now as a 46 year old lady, I realize I was singing to GOD all along.
I haven’t heard it in a long while.
Suffering from a now (temporarily) debilitating disease, laying in my bed today/early evening feeling pretty down; stumbled across 3 seconds of your song while surfing on instagram.
I instantly recognized it, decided to search for it here on TH-cam. I played your 1998 4 minute version and 💥!!! Very same instant elevating effect. Sick and all, only 9 days out of surgery and I still managed to hang/belt it out with you for the entire 4 minutes. 😂 Despite all my adversity, my soul still manages to overflow with love.
Contributions to the world like your song is often what most of us need as reminders of who we are, how far we have come and how much road we have ahead.
