      🤗💯❤️ that’s frickin awesome! I have a 10 week old Shepweiler and he’s a tank on four paws but so wants to learn and listen (outside of sudden bursts of zoomies 😳)… my pitty is an amazing mentor however.
      I honestly am not a food motivated trainer though, I have always had success with enjoyed engagement and knowing when to stop. Probably because of training whilst training with livestock.

    I think my GSD has ADD because even though it was easy to potty and crate train him, he is very high strong and sit and PAW is the only thing I'm able to get out of him. He walks well on the leash and doesn't pull, but his attention span right now is that all the goldfish.

      Dont ever teach your dog «paw». Why would you want your dog pawing someone for treats or praise?

    • @RiRyn27
      @RiRyn27 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@MagnusFXT I think more conventionally paw is essentially shake/give me your paw.

      If you would have kept your puppy in a room with zero items other than you and treats or you and toy he would learn that the only fun is you. It makes puppy’s not crest bad habits like running around the house chewing or tugging on everything aka “low attention span”

    • @MagnusFXT
      @MagnusFXT ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@RiRyn27 yeah, but why would you teach a dog that command. Reactive dogs will offer up behaviors for rewards. Do you really want your dog to start pawing strangers in hopes that they give him treats. Nah. Choose different commands. Think about what you’re teaching him.

    • @xapriliztheshizzlex
      @xapriliztheshizzlex ปีที่แล้ว +22

      @@MagnusFXT must be personal to your experience. I've had 7 dogs in my lifetime, 6 different breeds (husky, shepherd, rottweiler, shih tzu, malamute, terrier) & none of them ever gave their "paw" without being asked and never pawed at anyone.

      What about just a very short training time of say, 3-5 minutes x 8 per day? I usually have my puppies with me all day so the training really doesn't stop so to speak. But for the sit, watch, down etc some people I have seen personally go on and on until the pup gets bored and loses attention and then loses the attention all together.

    Saw your videos and got excited about training a dog. Yesterday I bought a 12 week old GSD and I'm learning to train him. Something happened where he's fearful in general unfortunately and his food drive is slowly getting better. But these videos have been extremely helpful, day 1 of training and he's already sitting, laying, and staying based off hand gestures. His strengths seem to be coming and heeling.

    My German Shepherd is a little over a year old… I rescued her from people who were clearly not able to take care of five puppies and two adult German shepherds, they were running wild in the neighborhood and I offered them $50 for one of the puppies and they said yes so I took her home. She was three months old when I got her, she was wild no training at all. Very rambunctious able to focus. She still has a jumping habit which is absolutely dangerous. she is broken. My foot tripped me cut me with her nails when I opened the door and she raced out running over my foot thank God it was the back door and she was only going potty, but she has so much undisciplined behavior to correct she jumps up on you she does not stay. It’s almost as if she can’t like her body won’t let her do it. She’s so much of a child she is getting better but man she is a handful if you do not discipline her and make her do it over and over and over and over and over again she just doesn’t get it, I guess this is because she was three months old when I got her almost 4 months and did not have any training. We are way behind unfortunately but she’s trying she can sit. She can lay down ,she can stay a little bit she’s getting better…😂 but the jumping up on me is really hard to deal with. I kick her in the chest with my knee. if I catch it, the thing is she does it without being aware of when she’s going to do it it’s like she won’t do it once and then she’ll run right back 10 minutes later and jump up on you. It’s like you can’t figure out when she’s gonna do it and then she jumps from behind like she’ll come up from behind and jump on me. It’s crazy I’m only 5 foot and I weigh 112 pounds and she knock me on my butt. She has knocked me on my butt actually several times I wish I could fix it.

    Lol, my GSD is at ten weeks... Looks like I have work to do! She really has no attention span right now and is not food/ trear motivated. She doesn't really listen much, shes more sight focused as well. I do a little work with her but just letting her play and be a puppy as well. She is resistant to the leash unless I take my older dog together on walks she stays in cadence with her. She is really young but this is a great starting point! Thanks again!

My last one was aggressive with dogs and people .. I'm doing my best to try and make this dog okay with both because I want to train him to be a diabetic service animal. Well see how it goes. My last one had an extremely high drive.. this one doesn't seem to have that. But he's already barking at other dogs. . He's 2 months old.

    my 10 week old is nowhere near this level. Mine spends all day biting everything, including me! He has sit, but I can't get him to engage that long and he is not picking up the down command

    My Vet said that my 5 year old Working Line was most likely poisoned, we think it was our neighbor but can't prove it. My God, what is wrong with people? Why, because he barked when he sensed danger? Jet was such a joy and was like a Son to us. Forgive them Father, they no not what they do.

      I got a medium size for my 8 week old and just removed prongs and then you can add them back as they grow larger if you still need it by then

      Yes, study this man's training techniques. Above all, it's your consistency that is going to make or break your puppy's behavior.

      @@ahmedmm786 okok. Thanks for update. I currently have a 8 weeks old German shepherd. You might have a working line dog. Exercise is key to limit those behavior. I let my puppy work for her food. She in process of crate training. She doesn't whine in crate. I broke that day 1. Good luck to you sir. I bought my puppy a maze mat and let her find her food too. It help the mental part of the dog too.
