There is one last and important little thing missing. After dripping, the oil is refilled in 250ml increments until it starts to flow again. About 800ml more is added.
Yes, they still haven't corrected this. The oil will drain from the main chamber. leaving the primary chamber too low. You need to top up again until oil starts to drip meaning that the primary chamber is also full. I refit the level plug and add 50ml to allow for any leakage on 10 year old transmission which is still working perfectly!
I believe that after filling the transmission until the oil runs out of the level plug, the level is correct. If you follow the procedure and run the transmission again there WILL be leakage if you remove the level plug again (which they do!) This will leave the level too low? Therefore, you need to top it up in 250ml intervals until oil just starts to leak from the level plug again. Only then is the level correct? Check the Ford manual and/or see lots of other videos on the same topic?
Hi so after getting the gearbox service from ford i noticed when i checked under the transmission when i removed the cover theres leaking could this be down to them over filling not fully letting the extra oil pour out
Hi, its difficult to answer your question because we want to give answers that the community can rely on. If there has been a greater loss of oil, you should try to refill at least the amount that has been released. Sometimes while loosening our adaption at a transmission flush, we lose some oil. But only a very small amount so that we don't need to refill in this case. In the end we don't really know how much ml of your oil has dripped out of the system so there will be no "yes its okay to drive". But as you have seen in our lines above you might relate to our example for the removal of an adapter. We hope to have helped. Regards, Team VAICO
Hello, I'm owner of Mondeo Estate 2.0 diesel MK5 with automatic transmission. 207.000 km. Sometimes, after starting vehicle on display is warning yellow message AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LIMITED FUNCTION with sign of termometer (it occurs several times per month without any logical cause). After that there is no function of Reverse (camera is on but no move in reverse, even press gas pedal it doesn't respond); if switch in D, vehicle moves but in safety mode with difficult of changing gears. After I turn off vehicle then switch on again, everything is ok and works smooth. In Ford service in Serbia/Belgrade where I maintain my vehicle, they said it's up to EGR valve which is changed new this September. But, still have this problem. Could you tell me what could be a problem? Best regards and HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Zoran
Hello @martinke1969, thanks for your question and description of the problem. It's always difficult to decide where the problem is coming from, when it is not possible to further examine the vehicle. Has your automatic transmission ever been serviced? How is the mileage of the car? We have had several people telling about similar problems, where the shifting behaviour has not been normal. It could be possible that the old oil and abrasion can cause the transmission to stop working properly. Also the oil filter is a really important part in the oil cycle. The filter can also dissolve without maintenance and clog the transmission. So we suggest having the automatic transmission checked. Regards, Team VAICO
@@VAICO ok, thanks for answer. After I purchased vehicle, service dod auotmatic transmission service. August 2021. On 176.000 km. Now is 207.000 km. I will see with them to check everything about transmission. Happy holidays.
Help @happysembh7213, we deliver the kit with 6 liters transmission fluid. This quantity should be sufficient for the transmission. Regards, Team VAICO

Hello Doug S,
we will check and get back to you!
Thank you and best regards,

@@VAICOWill wait to hear from you. Thanks.
The procedure Doug outlines is correct. After starting, let the excess oil drip out. Then it's refilled before it starts leaking again.
Hi, for the C-max 2016 2.0 tdci is it the same procedure? Is it 7.2l of gearbox oil necessary?
