The glow ring on the tray tab is a great idea. I rarely use the lavatory on planes because I usually choose a window seat. But if I really have to go, it'd be nice to be able to find my way back to my seat easily.
I travel with a tiny fabric pouch which contains a few flight essentials: 2 wipes, 2 disposable eye drops, a contact lens case (since I only wear one lens, the other space is for fresh solution), a disposable prepasted toothbrush or finger teeth cleaner, my tinted lip balm, and earbuds. I just take this little pouch out during my flight and put it in the pocket in front of me. I also use a wallet on a string (daily, not just for travel). Barely fits a phone, credit cards and a passport. It's really just an oversized wallet, but a couple of airlines have treated it as third bag just because of the strap. So I now hide it under a jacket and make sure my jacket or sweater has large enough pockets to fit it should it be discovered (I once made Delta apologize and issue compensation for treating it like a third bag). I also travel with what my son calls my "old lady kit". 😆 It is a wonderful little kit, inspired by this channel. Everything fits in a standard Ziploc bag: meds, different sorts of wipes, solid toothpaste, spare contacts, bandaids, sewing kit, laundry sheets, etc. It came in handy during my last family trip, when all four travel companions, including my son, got sick or injured. I love this channel!
Great minds think alike! I always thought it was odd that they would let people bring on pillows and blankets but as soon as I had a little fanny pack on, they told me they would count that as a third personal item because someone could trip over it if it was on the floor. And I thought what if someone’s pillow or blanket on the floor? And most of the time when I wear it on my waist and it doesn’t come off.🤷♀️ the airlines need to rethink some of the rules
Lol! You sound like me! Just when I get my card emptied I find something new that I want to have! ❤️😂 I’ll be making that video very soon for the make up bag!
I've got a pair of those Skechers Slip-Ins! They are really good. The thing about them that surprised me is that I can actually walk around a city with them quite easily. Also very practical in Japan where you always change to house slippers as you enter a home, and in Canada in the winter time.
No glow ring? Just count the number of rows from your seat to the toilet. I don't take travel clocks, I rely on my wristwatch. I might get a glow ring, it may be enough illumination to show me the watch face. I do have two watches with glow faces but the small one is really too small to see properly. The big one is okay but they need a really good light charge to be effective. E❤
I use a neck brace. So much smaller, i can carry it around my wrist, or inconspicuously around my luggage handle, and nobody is going to count it ad a personal item, since it's a medical device, and i can wear it on me or easily stuff it in my bag. It does a great job at holding my head so i can sleep.
Ha! I never thought of doing that! I actually have a neck brace and I’ve never thought of doing that! Of course I don’t really find that braces that comfortable but they keep your head up! 😊 thank you so much for sharing💕
I have flown once on a red eye flight from Hawaii to Ohio. Never again. Because I do not sleep in a plane, car or anything moving. I try but I can’t. So that makes for a very grumpy me. Eunice, you have the best gadgets! Thanks for the info.
Yeah, if you can’t sleep at all on a plane or in a car or redeye flight is definitely not for you! I’m so so happy you’re getting some great tips and gadgets from my videos💕😊
I have a small flat fabric rectangular bag which takes phone, bank cards, passport, travel tickets, coin and note purse Etc it has a narrow crissbody strap, and a d ring each side. I can put the strap inside, zip it up, put a karabiner in each d ring and clip it to two belt loops on my jeans. No visible strap, no personal item bag. Whenever I buy small/lightweight crossbody bags I always look for two d rings - clipping them to the jeans, even when using the strap, is an extra security measure as well as reducing weight on the shoulder. E❤
I purchased the water wipes and holder because of one of your previous videos. I carry one in my purse all the time. I am of the age where sometimes you just need a little wipe for all kinds of reasons. I think I will order the glowing ring more my hotel rooms because I am always confused when I wake in a strange place. Thanks for the tips and links.
I am just like you and when I’m in a strange place and I wake up in the middle of the night, I like to at least know where I’m headed, so I don’t run into a wall🤣😂 those little glowing things are great because they need to be charged💕😊
I love a red eye flight, possible because I sleep so well, anywhere! The last red eye I took from JFK to Heathrow, take off at about 9pm. I was asleep before we’d even pushed back and didn’t wake up until they were serving breakfast. Best flight ever…..😂
Flexible fabric shoes double as slippers. I always take sliders (not toe posts) made of the same poly material as Crocs - I wear these in showers as you never know what may be lurking on the floor. Especially useful for hospital stays if you don't have exclusive use of a bathroom. E❤
@@EileenSpeakman yes I talk about having multi use sandals/slippers and several of my videos😊 especially something you could wear to the pool in your room in the shower even out and about😊
@@TheoryofSimple absolutely. I've always packed multi use footwear Knowing that I might buy something pretty when I get there which I will wear often when I get home..
Yes would luv to see makeup bag contents, always love to see the mini things you carry for travel… thanks to you my makeup bag keeps getting smaller and lighter!!
I find if I tie my neck pillow to the headrest, it stops my head falling forward. Works so well. You can also buy neck pillows now with an attachment for the headrest.
I’ve seen the neck pillow with the headrest attachment and I’m wondering how well it works with some of the newer Boeing planes that have the plastic seat information holder behind it?
Thank you for all of your videos. They are always so informative and packed with great travel ideas. I would love to see a video of what is in your travel makeup bag.
I absolutely LOVE all your suggestions. After watching so many of your videos, it has changed the way I travel in a big way. Even better, it has made my husband much more at ease... because if he needs anything, I usually have something for his comfort as well. Let's see what is in your makeup bag too! I've got my finger on your amazon button!
Thank you so much! I’m so happy these videos are helping you with your travel adventures and keeping your husband at ease! That just brought the biggest smile to my face! I’ll be doing it what’s in my makeup bag video very soon!😊💕
Great idea re: the glow ring. I wasn’t sure if something like that would always work for me (because I often arrive at the airport a couple of hours early) … so I decided to get one of those teeny tiny night lights that you can plug into a power bank. I chose one with a red light so it would disturb my neighbors less as it sits on my tray or seat. The cost also won me over-4 lights for $7 from Amazon. A nice (free) replacement for the zip-up bag that carries your glow ring is a similarly sized zip-up bag from your bank or credit union. Most I’ve seen are waterproof vinyl, although I’ve seen a couple of cotton ones as well.
I will be going on a red eye flight in a few months. This was a GREAT video. Your travel content is my absolute favorite to watch. Thanks for sharing all the great tips with us. Have a blessed weekend. 👍🏼
Great video with so many good tips. Xylitol mints are good also because they kill bacteria. I like Zellie's mints. That glow ring is such a good idea to carry. I love that little toothbrush as well. I really need to get one of those vitamin packs. I tend to put my vitamins in snack baggies when I travel but that pack looks so much more efficient. Yes, I would love to see what you carry in your makeup bag.
I’ll have to try those Zelli’s mints! Thank you for sharing! I was really surprised at how well that little toothbrush worked and then I could use it for days! That really is awesome😊
I don’t understand those neck pillows. What I do is wear a long fluffy duster (one of those coat-sweater things) if it’s summer or a fluffy packable jacket if it’s winter and I bring either a plastic bag or one of those stringy knapsacks (that I’ll always use on any trip). I put the outerwear into the bag and get a nice big pillow out of it. Wedge the pillow between my seat and the window and sleep all night with no issues.
@@ri-oj1ul that’s we’re having one of those packable neck pillows you stuff with clothing works out great because you can stuff it with coats or blankets or whatever and use it as a pillow or as a neck support when you’re traveling😊
@@TheoryofSimple I mean I don’t understand them because they’re super uncomfortable to have around my neck… like it’s better without it. Either give me a real square or rectangular pillow I can lean on or nothing at all. I currently have one in my suitcase and the only reason I haven’t thrown it out is it’s keeping my bras from getting squished!
@@ri-oj1ul gotcha! Yeah, those neck pillows aren’t for everyone and even for me. I have a short neck so sometimes those neck pillows are really uncomfortable, but I did find that this inflatable one works out pretty well.. but I love your idea about using them to keep your bras from being flattened! Love it💕😊 thank you so much for sharing that with us😊
Your videos are always packed with such great ideas! I'd love to know where you found the clear red eye makeup bag. It's exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks!!
@@frenchielvr thank you so much! I’m so glad you’re getting some great ideas from my videos! 😊my redeye flight make up bag is an old bag, but if you watch the video listed in the description, I think I have a link to that in that other video😊
Hi Eunice Love your fun and exciting travel content as always. Would love to hear you share your career path as it has always been my dream job for me to do a lot of traveling. Looking at current termination over something very petty and the bosses need for bullying and control issues so I may start to look into how I can follow my dreams once and for all at 65. Thank you for being so sweet and fun to watch. Luv, Cynthia ❤✈🙏🌹
Thank you so much and I’m so happy that I can be an inspiration. one thing I have learned about this journey is that no one is going to push push you into your dreams. You need to take the step and keep walking. A job, is just that, a job. It’s a paycheck and if you’re lucky, you have wonderful people to work with, but if you don’t, you have to ask yourself a question about are you just a number or are you an experience waiting to happen?😊
do things like lanolin, primer, count as a liquid? I've heard people getting chapstick taken away. Some great ideas! I always have a little flashlight but I love your little glowing disc, and putting cream in a contact case...I wonder if I still have mine! I use "Super Sleep" which are a chewable tablet of 5HTP, L-Theanine, and a small amount of melatonin. They're kind of bulky but don't need water. Your powder packs look like a good option too!
Yes, those things in the contact lens cases are considered liquids, which is why I keep them in that little clear pouch. Because I have TSA pre-check when I’m traveling in the United States. I do not need to remove them and I never questioned about them. However, if you’re flying to another country and it seems strict, it’s always better to play it safe and put everything into a plastic court size bag that separated and then once you get through security, you can separate things back out into the little pouches that you need for your flight.😊
@TheoryofSimple thanks! I was also thinking of my "pore putty"...I wouldn't call it a liquid by any stretch but who knows. However, I'll need more than that tiny amount so I'll take the tin it's in. So much to think about because I also need room for my knitting and cameras! 😃
What are the little mesh that you have around your make up brushes? I will watch for that video but Im packing for a trip and Id love to find a way to keep my bag cleaner on the inside ♥️
Do you have a good eye! Those little mesh covers are what my brushes came with and I keep them on my brushes to keep them from getting all mangled in my make up case😊
Oh my goodness, was that little pink lip and cuticle treatment by hanalei from Hawaii? I just love those products! And yes! Would love to see the products in the travel makeup bag!
I realise now that wet wipes plastic do much noise in a quiet place. I don't remember whether night flight so far were quiet with people sleeping or noisy with people talking.
Yes, please do a video on your carry on makeup bag. Thank you for your videos. Could you give any info regarding a hearing aud....I am deaf in one ear and need a hearing aid ( battery type) in the other. I want to fly to London. Is this considered a handicapp that I need to tell the agent when booking my flight...or when I'm boarding?
You will not need to disclose anything about hearing aids when booking your flight however, you may be asked to remove them when going through TSA security. I would just ask the TSA agent if you need to remove them. Sometimes they will not ask you to remove them and you can wear your hearing aids on the flight as they will help you communicate with the flight attendant. 😊💕
Hi Eunice. I love your channel. I look forward to all of your videos. I can't find a link or the name of the bag that you use for your Red Eye Fight Essentials. Could you please share the link or could you list the dimensions of the bag.❤
@@cheryldekoevend6626 the little bag that I used my redeye flight essentials is an old bag that I just had around. I don’t know the exact dimensions right now, but let me see if I can get that and if you check in with me over on Instagram with a message, I’ll be able to get that for you!😊💕
The stuffable neck roll pillow is a revelation. What is it made of? Would merino wool cloth be the best, be the kindest on your skin ? (I'd need something different as I can't wear wool, makes me very itchy, and Shetland wool produces wheals, but I might try merino, see what happens). . E❤
@@EileenSpeakman merino wool is best. Some brands are better than others. For example, I can’t wear Smartwool because it’s too itchy. The brand I were is extremely soft.
@@TheoryofSimple Thank you. I've a friend who loves cashmere, also very soft. Both could be worth trying. Might first see if I can find both as knitting yarns, make a simple scarf, see how it goes. I could be looking for the multi pocket vest this Friday, I'm going to visit a friend - Mountain Warehouse (outdoor, camping, clothing etc) nearby. Abilities change as the years pass, I'm ready to distribute handbag weight around my body when using public transport, or when shopping, or trundling around the kiddie farm park with my gorgeous 19 month old granddaughter (I have a lightweight kiddies backpack, throw on one shoulder, or over my arm because it has two handles just like a shopping bag - they were the reason I bought it. . You've given me some useful ideas, thank you. E ♥️
@@EileenSpeakman very welcome and regarding knitting or crocheting with these natural fibers, please note they all can be very different in how they feel once knitted and depending on the type of crochet stitch you’re using. I have bought some expensive wool yarn and had it feel kind of itchy and also depending on the amount of fiber it can be very hard to take your stitches out if you make a mistake😊
@@TheoryofSimple I'm not a knitter, I don't like knittung, so just a loose stocking stitch or knit purl knit purl over an odd number of stitches. (Sewing is my skill, made my son's school trousers for primary school, Bermuda surfing shorts for our beachwear, short sleeved open neck summer shirts fir my husband). Thank you for your very useful advice. Will see what I can find when I next go to a yarn shop. And may even look in the charity shops for merino and cashmere knitwear. Take care. E♥️. .
Well, I use a combination of things in my usual nighttime routine and my daytime routine that seem to be helping but the spray is by Paula’s choice 2% BHA. I don’t think that alone is really helping as much as the type of cleanser that I’m using and I’m gonna do a whole video on that soon.😊
@@mamatobz2890 love it! We all have to find new ways of getting things onto that plane with us! I had a fanny pack on one day and a loose blouse over it and a gentleman thought I was pregnant and offered me his seat when I was sitting at the gate!😜😂 I let him know it was just a fanny pack, but thanked him anyway😊
@@sarahdrousseau unfortunately, not. No other natural or synthetic fabric has the properties that wool has. Synthetic fabrics are a close one for washability but they retain odors and can cause folliculitis. Cotton is blends may be the best choice but the can smell musty in humid weather.
I have an odd question, but im desperate!😂 I've lost a crap ton of weight, I've noticed with my last 4 flights my butt gets really sore sitting in the seat. I fidget constantly. I've tried a travel pillow, but it's still uncomfortable. I was just wondering if you or anyone had any advice? TIA!🎉
First of all, congratulations on your weight loss and I hope it is for a healthy reason. 😊 regarding sitting in your butt hurting, there are certain airlines seats that are just horrible, and I have put things like my jacket and even my neck pillow underneath my butt to try to get comfortable and there are other seats that are pretty comfortable for a longer flight.. that being said it’s always better to fidget around and move around anyway to keep the blood flowing so that you don’t end up with clots. I have a bad back and I’m constantly fidgeting and re-crossing my legs and re-positioning on the plane.🤷♀️
@TheoryofSimple thank you Eunice! Yes, I'm 56, and I'm so much more healthy now. I needed to be to take all these trips. The jacket idea! I'll try that!
Get a stadium foam cushion with cutout for tailbone. Made for watching those long haul baseball games. It’s angled so it tips your hips forward just a bit to keep the natural sway in your low back. The tailbone cut out takes pressure off the tailbone area. Get at foam shop.
We did this: coloring items; small gifts; paper cut out trains (or dolls or whatever they like); puzzles; mazes; I Spy; snackle box (my niece’s idea)- just a box with organized compartments with snacks; maps; craft kits.
@@buds8423 I carry masks with me, but I don’t always put them on. If I feel like I’m coming down with something or if I feel like somebody next to me might have something I can catch then I will put a mask on.😊

And just like that my Amazon cart is filling up again! Thanks for all the great ideas Eunice…and of course I want to see what’s in your makeup bag!

@@dammar117 I’m definitely an enabler! 🤣😂
I've got a pair of those Skechers Slip-Ins! They are really good. The thing about them that surprised me is that I can actually walk around a city with them quite easily.
Also very practical in Japan where you always change to house slippers as you enter a home, and in Canada in the winter time.
I completely agree with you! I was surprised that I could walk for miles in these shoes!😊

So many good ideas!! The glow ring is genius!
Thank you!💕😊
I have a small flat fabric rectangular bag which takes phone, bank cards, passport, travel tickets, coin and note purse Etc it has a narrow crissbody strap, and a d ring each side.

Flexible fabric shoes double as slippers. I always take sliders (not toe posts) made of the same poly material as Crocs - I wear these in showers as you never know what may be lurking on the floor. Especially useful for hospital stays if you don't have exclusive use of a bathroom. E❤

Thank you! Thanks for sharing! 💕😊

Great tips and ideas…as always! David is so silly! Did you try T-1 at OAK to get to T-2?
I did not! 😳 I forgot about it and with the redeye the terminal was pretty empty😊
do things like lanolin, primer, count as a liquid?
Always so many good ideas!
Thank You 😊

Could you give any info regarding a hearing aud....I am deaf in one ear and need a hearing aid ( battery type) in the other.
I want to fly to London. Is this considered a handicapp that I need to tell the agent when booking my flight...or when I'm boarding?
You will not need to disclose anything about hearing aids when booking your flight however, you may be asked to remove them when going through TSA security. I would just ask the TSA agent if you need to remove them. Sometimes they will not ask you to remove them and you can wear your hearing aids on the flight as they will help you communicate with the flight attendant. 😊💕

@@EileenSpeakman very welcome and regarding knitting or crocheting with these natural fibers, please note they all can be very different in how they feel once knitted and depending on the type of crochet stitch you’re using. I’m curious what spray you use for rosacea? Does it work well?
Well, I use a combination of things in my usual nighttime routine and my daytime routine that seem to be helping but the spray is by Paula’s choice 2% BHA. I don’t think that alone is really helping as much as the type of cleanser that I’m using and I’m gonna do a whole video on that soon.😊
