      @@agoogleuser4356 My sister and I have an inherited lung disease and wearing a mask would be like a "blow torch" to our lungs, probably killing us, according to our pulmonologist. I don't plan on sitting at the rear of the plane because you think we should wear a mask. If you are vaccinated for covid, flu or pneumonia you should be safe from us and our stench. Correct?

    Those of us who have travelled to some of the more "interesting" areas of the globe know how important a good international medical/first aid kit is. If you get sick, the last thing you want is to be trying to figure out how to find what you need in a strange country where you don't speak the language and don't know what medications are legal, etc. At least have enough medication for a few days of any common traveller's ailment.

      You’re travel medical bag covers it all. Thank you for sharing it with us! As a nurse can I recommend that you add Benadryl ( an antihistamine for both allergies and bad reactions to bug bites/rashes to relieve bad itching/swelling) Also called Diphenhydramine in Canada but will make you drowsy so please remember that. The second thing I highly recommend is Gravol ( again Canadian name but also called Diphenhydrinate) especially if you are nauseated and may or may not be vomiting. This will stop that but will also make you drowsy so again just keep that in mind. Actually if you are feeling that sick and your flight is going to be a long one then the side effect of feeling sleepy is a good thing to help you rest. I am not sure about other countries but both of these medications are available without a prescription. I want to thank you once again for you very fun and informative videos!

    Because I live in a colder climate than you, I more often need to wear a thicker winter coat when I travel - a puffer jacket works best. I pack an empty larger packing cube in the top of my personal item bag, and once I'm on the plane, I fold up my jacket into a rectangle and pack it in the cube, then sit on it - a "tush cush" and also gets it out of the way (nothing worse than people who take up the whole overhead bin with their coats so other passengers can't put their carry ons there!)

Mine includes bandaids, cause one time in Vegas my shoes were rubbing my feet something awful. These were very comfy shoes that had never caused me any trouble, so I didn't think to bring any bandaids. Lesson learned: if you walk enough, ANY shoe can start rubbing and cause blisters! @akliana ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Regarding the earplanes ear plugs, my doctor highly recommends them if you have a cold and are flying especially if your ears are plugged. I’ve flown with congested ears and they were painful when landing. With the earplanes on, there is less of a chance for pain because the little balls in them help to regulate the air pressure so that your ears remain pain free throughout the flight. You need to put them on at the beginning of your flight before they start adjusting the air pressure. You can take them out when you reach altitude, but you need to put them back in about an hour before you land. This has helped me tremendously.

      @@TheoryofSimple I have been called the MacGyver Den mother since my days in the military 2001. (I am a Gen X’r through and through) Always had the bandaid, sound spa, gum or candy and extra clothes and shoes. A year or two back my 10 year old and I got stuck in customs overnight at Denver from Mexico and missed several possible flights after our initial missed connection. He was so stressed until we made a battle plan and started checking things off. I was about to pass out from low blood sugar and used my last honey stick while in line to rebook. We changed to warmer clean clothes in bathroom and washed up, got some food and juice for dinner and ate some snacks and created our own little parceled off section on the carpet near a column and wall and additional “wall with our luggage and a wheelchair. We had a fleece to sleep on and each had travel blankets. Charged all devices and had tiny itty bitty sound spa (same size as EWA travel speaker) to drown out noise. We both had applied Lume and I’m telling you: neither of us smelled one bit. I literally braced for hazmat when I washed his feet and had him change socks. NO SMELL! We turned it into an adventure and finally got back to our second destination 31 hours later. I love to be prepared and has paid off in so many circumstances. Oh, when we woke up I counted 27 persons on the floor sleeping and most had NOTHING! Kids on bare floor using their tank tops and tee shirts for blankets. It was crazy! I now have a floor tarp in my arsenal so we don’t have to dirty our blanket so much.

You find out when you’re prepared to become a very popular person in the airport. Everybody wants to use your extension cords and your water heaters and things like that. The fan is so strong and it has been a week, in the heat , and it’s still running, so it’s longer than the eight hours they advertise. Eunice, you were also right about the adapter in Israel- it was enough and I don’t need a converter for my devices or chargers.

    You are the only person that I've heard pronounce your name the way that you do. It sounds like Unique, and that's what you are, because you're definitely one of a kind lady!
    I don't know when or if I'll ever get the fly again, but I'm a gadget and bag junkie. So I love that I can watch you and say "I have that!", or "I have something similar", or "Oh that's what I can do with that bag!"
    I love that you also camp and pack for emergency preparedness too, because it is so important. It gives your channel a diversity that I've not seen on any others.
    Btw, I saw something the other day that I just remembered while watching you talk about your cashmere wrap.
    You can take something like a thin bangle bracelet, place your both sides of the wrap over it, then place a ponytail over it, so you can wear it without having to tie it or holding it constantly. Then if you want to make it a little less "obvious", pin a brooch on it, or use a magnet underneath so no pin holes. 😊
    I hope all works out well for you and your family, and never forget to practice self-care. You can't help others when your tank is sitting on E.
    {{{hugs}}}

The good news is they were able to get in our sickness bag but there are some times where they aren’t any in the pockets and you just want to be sure you could have one closer hand.!

    How creative! Lstasher as a cold press. I read that these are the best silicone bags. The way to check it is to wring it. If u see any white color-it’s low quality. I have been wringing many silicone bags and containers. This is the only one that doesn’t show any white.

    I used one of those staser bags (sandwich size) with hot water when my knee was hurting at home.....never again....the slightest pressure put on the bag while it's filled with hot water makes it burst open! Hot water all over my legs and it hurt like hell. Only ice 🧊 from now on.

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh no! I’m so sorry you had to go through that! I haven’t had that problem, but it wasn’t boiling hot water, so I’m not sure if there’s a temperature point where the seal doesn’t work well. The other thing you can do is put a hot water soaked cloth in the bag and that will also keep it warm and not have water bursting everywhere and then you can also reheat that cloth in a microwave if you were at a hotel or something and you needed to keep it warm.. thanks for sharing your experience and hopefully it’ll save someone else. The pain of going through that.!

      They work well, and I only took one of the little chocolate candies for sleep, and I felt in about 15 minutes. But I’m also melatonin sensitive and it can sit with me for a while so I made sure I took it at the very beginning of my flight so I had enough time for it to wear down.😊

    I’m so glad I found your channel! This video is super helpful, especially your airplane layered outfit! This will help me a lot! My body temperature due to my age, can go from freezing to sweating! 😂. I look forward to the other parts of this series. I’m about to do an 11 hour flight. A couple of things that take up too much space for me - extra eyeglasses. I have to bring a prescription computer pair and I bring a backup pair, in the event the pair I’m wearing got broken and cannot be repaired (like the time I fell, my glasses flew off, and someone stepped on them!) and I also bring contacts. Thanks again for making your videos! I love learning from other’s experiences and ideas! Best to you and your family thru the crisis!

      Thank you so much and I truly appreciate your feedback and feel your pain with the glasses! I always have the pair that I wear on the plane, which is my readers, and then I have blue light readers that I use at night, and I always keep a folding pair of readers in my purse! And I do this because my reading power is 1.75 and it’s hard to find those glasses! 😊💕

    So sorry to hear that David's (and you!) having a hard time of it. We're praying everything goes well. Don't forget to care for yourself. Are usually don’t keep Band-Aids and things like that in my personal carry-on because I’m hoping I’m not gonna get hurt or cut but I do keep something in my suitcase to take with me while I’m on my trip I love and that will come up in the next couple of videos.!😊❤️ thank you so much for sending your prayers and thoughts for David’s healthy recovery!❤️🙏❤️

    I'm a worry-wart as well too; I can completely relate. That probably relates to how we pack for so many contingencies. Contingency thinking also leads me to overpack; not necessarily more of a lot of items. It's the "two is one, one is none" mentality of Preparedness. I don't take one set of earplugs, but four or five (they're small! LOL), for example. But, those little things add up to create more bulk and take up space.

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True! And that can lead to what I call “feature creep” which is a term we used to use the software engineering where somebody always wanted to keep adding features in during software development. So you do have to learn to keep this in check and ask yourself what are the priorities of the things that you’re taking and that’s why sometimes taking a suitcase that’s not expandable is good because you could only fit so much in it and you’ll have to just prioritize the important things😊🙏❤️

    I like getting the silicone bag for the ice. I usually carry a gallon size ziploc for flight attendants to put some ice in for my back but I like the idea of the thicker silicone.

    • @TheoryofSimple
      @TheoryofSimple  ปีที่แล้ว

      You do the same thing! But then the Ziploc bags always seem to get a little leak in them. I’ve been using these silicone bags for a couple years now and I’ve never had a problem.😊🙏 I like also that they make them in different colors and sizes so I can bring a couple with me for different things🙏🙏❤️ also, then when I travel, I don’t have to be buying a bunch of plastic bags and boxes and I can just wash and reuse the silicone bags! 🙏😊❤️

    • @lseeber01
      @lseeber01 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheoryofSimple Yes I do! And yes, they (the ziplocs) do have a tendency to leak some (which is why I brought the big one and just had them fill the bottom 3rd with ice). Another reason I like the silicone bag idea! Immagittinone!
