This is exactly how I fell in love with this hobby! I seen a coworker just messing around with his stampede on lunch break, asking a fellow hobbyist what might be an issue with some sound he was experiencing and I was like in a trance walking over to see what the deal was and was amazed to learn they make such advanced cars unlike the cheap but fun tyco rc cars i had as a child which we only ever had a single battery that took a good 8-10hours to charge and once it broke it was broken for good, and I hit them with a plethora of questions, he even let me take a stroll with his after he switched to a less powerful battery and switched the controller speed etc because I had never touched it therefore wouldn't know the power etc. I began studying everything I could that very day and was obsessed! Due to high cost even at entry level I first bought a used nitro revo off him and while i was more than happy, I ended up encountering an opportunity for a used but super modified e revo with mamba monster motor along with everything needed to use right away including 4 bodies, 3 sets of wheels, and a lipo charger with 2 separate 2s 5000mah 20c Batts but I had already bought the spektrum controller and he gave me a controller but said it was finicky, but it didn't matter since I had the new spektrum. I went home, checked a few things, put Teflon tape on the wheel bolts because I kept spinning the wheels off and man it was all in after that! I stopped running 6s as it just wasn't necessary for me, I sold both 3s batteries to a friend I got into the hobby, and since then I got atleast 10 people into it, most of which stayed with it too although our local hobby shop went out of business and many of us fell out for awhile but I got back into it a few months ago when I found another shop opened as I needed help diagnosing what was wrong and have been bashing hard ever since!
