I think stand-alone is self-explanatory. It is a ship that can fit in a lot of situations without the need for the fleet to be built around her. So, said ship needs to, on average, perform the best in any random anti-light fleet compared to other CVs. It's like the "Shinano vs Amagi" situation. While Shinano is the core of the best anti-heavy fleet, if you want to try an alternative to the IJN-themed fleet, say a Soviet fleet for example, Amagi can fit in that fleet better than Shinano.
Tbf we never, in any practical situation, use standalone ships anyway. And in the event that we do it's not about damage which this entire test is about sooooo
@@Regis_ru They just take the word “stand-alone” way too literal and create a situation where Yorktown II doesn’t have 2 other USS to prove a pointless point. Of course you want 2 other USS, it’s part of her skill and it’s not hard to fulfill. I guess they also take flexibility into account when reviewing ship
@@unnamedseal4412 Debatable. That gun has no spread so if you want to maximize the number of hit you will want it, but it also means if one shell misses then everything miss. A gun with spread means it’s impossible for everything to hit, but it’s also impossible for everything to miss

Also, the last comment I made on a video a few days ago, I said I was having better results with Yorktown fleet vs Amagi CV fleet for heavy. That changed against Strength last month. I think I fixed whatever I was doing wrong. Watching your videos for timing helps. I wish I could get the last 10 bps for the La9. Come on rng. Lol. Once again thank you for the video and info.

@@meto9552 yes, that will line up the number a little. Yorktown II has her own debuff, which is ~3.5% aviation damage. But the tricky part is that how much of Fritz’s damage is affected by this. Regardless, after considering these, Yorktown II is underperformed a little
I don't like this "stand alone" dialect. Might as well test them with no planes atp. Running Yorktown without USS is something you will never ever do and is not something Yorktown is balanced around in the first place. if fritz's best team is better than York's best team then she is better and that's the only way for me
I saw someone comparing her with Nakhimov and Soyuz against medium armor on challenge mode katsuragi since she has medium armor and a large HP pool and she did better than them both
