My Beauceron, Miss Molly, was the love of my life. I grew up with Beagles and Rottweilers (still love with a passion these breeds) but my Beauceron was my favorite. What a bond we had. Even as she was dying from cancer, she was trying to take care of me. I still cry over her and dream of the day I can have another one of these most magnificent, intelligent, gorgeous, loving dogs "Fur Person." Thank you for this lovely video!!! Best regards from Northern California :)

Sounds similar to me , had beagles labs , dachshund and shepherds. Wanted something different and almost got a Beaceron back in 2000 but ended up with a Giant Schnauzer ( Ax v Kiwis was his dad and is on YT) he was woe, intense , we competed in Protection dog sports, til he hit 2 yrs old and was clearly not a sport dog, we did pass our BH in Schutzhund but, if you know anything of that sport you know you cant pick the decoy when trialing , so. We ended up just training and not competing,,for decoys safety.... one time we happened upon a Police officer ( 5'5) fighting with a 6"5 dude and.. losing.. I asked if I could help and he the officer instantly Screamed YES send that dog! Lol bc Motomo was going off dude their fighting , I gave the suspect a warning ⚠️ stop resisting or I'll let him go on you.... dude dropped face down spread eagle.. Motts was 88 pounds , jet black , and extremely intimidating if you were on the receiving end ...
Anyways, it's been 5 yrs since he passed, ugh. Longest I've gone without a dog bc we were so bonded .. I think I'm ready again and this time I think I'm gonna get a Beauceron .

@@dtcdtc8328 WOW! This is incredibly interesting!!! Thank you for sharing your story. I had to smile especially reading the story of the policeman since some of my family (including my Dad) were in law enforcement. Good boy Motomo!!! I too am interested in Skchutzhund but have never gotten involved beyond reading on the couch (LOL). I can't tell you enough how amzaing Beaucerons are so do indeed think about getting one since you have so much dog experience. They are INCREDIBLY smart and loving. I went to a nice dog show once and honest to goodness, all of the Beaucerons looked like they were in study camp - calm, thinking, taking it easy (non-stressed). There's a Beauceron Association in the US you might check out. I was a member when I had my Mollikins. So happy to read your comment this morning. Best wishes from Northern California! 🦴🐕‍🦺❤

Our new Beauceron Jonny is five years old and had a very hard past in three different shelters. He is the most calm, gentle and obedient dog we ever met and loves children and adults. Even quite small children are able to pet him because of his gentle calm and loving character. There ist no struggle with other dogs. He accepts cows and horses.

We had 1 beauceron for 14 years named Boss. We were doing a family bbq and he went to see every person looks at us individually with his sweet eyes and went back to his favorite trees and sat down ,it's the first time he did that and the last time we saw him. He passed away without showing us weakness but kindness. 14 years old without any vaccines since his 3 months old.
Then my wife and me had a baby girl named Elektra who lived with us for 7 years, same, pretty energetic lovely with our newborns babies, never had a problem with our kids since day one,she was protecting them and give them all love.
Then I moved to U.S and after 7 years I wanted a BEAUCERON again for my property but it never happened.
Then now I moved back to France and now I have an oldschool BEAUCERON named Kaghan (Kaghan is Gensis Khan), It took me about 3 years to find him in an old breeders who raised them about 60 years but just sell every 5 years or less ,the owner raised his breed since he was 20. He doesn't raised a lot ,he just raised his breed not to lose the bloodline, he's 80 years old,he's a farmer with cows and sheep.
I was surprised when I came to visit him, he just said I have only 3 puppies, 2 Male and 1 female.
Then I asked him it is very strange that his female did only 3 puppies. Then he told me he never took care about puppies, he told me that's life, natural selection. My dog was born in November so it was cold very cold and her mother chose a quiet place in the farm but she was still working at the farm, only back to her babies when they needed the most.
Kaghan was a beautiful puppy, full energetic, really good looking and well built and his eyes says it all. I felt in love with those 3 puppies but I get him.
I told the owner if he was a pure breed then he laughed at me, he just told me " you want him or not? You're free to choose ! They are NOT L.O.F but they are the purest oldschool ones !
I took my puppy at home .
Then later I took my puppy at the vet for his vaccines and the vet also have BEAUCERON and seen a lot. She told me where I bought him ,she was interested to have one too,she found him so beautiful and well built so I told her my story...then she asked me if one day I have puppies she'll take one.
Time's going Kaghan is 75 cm tall garrot at 12 months and 50 kg,not too bad,he is well balanced mentally and physically and he is so lovely with everybody and kids he takes care, he works on chicken and ducks, herding comes naturally. Sitting watching me working at first at his 2 months old, he started naturally to herding a month later by himself but he couldn't control his energy, it takes time, he is still a baby until his 3 years old. You better teach him with an iron hand in a velour glove since day one you got him home.
I took him everywhere to social him and as a puppy he got it all off course, who don't like puppies? He got lot of love from people, it's very important to take him out and teach him everything you can since he got home ,no wait ,education start day one.
Then I was working and my dog couldn't stay alone home, he broke everything in my house but didn't touch the bbq meat .I was upset but when I saw he didn't even touch the meat I understood his frustration so I didn't punished him.
I decided to buy a female so they can be together when I am working the day.
Same thing, I did my research again and I found this time a women who raised oldschool BEAUCERON, I called her, talk about what I was looking for, that I didn't want especially have a L.O.F BEAUCERON but a pure oldschool ones .
She answered me that all her breed is from L.O.F but some will not be confirmed because they are taller and bigger than the standard .knowing that the standard is 72 cm max in garrot means shoulders, well balanced not big, well balanced.
I found my little girl named Hestia (Goddess of Home),same well balanced but bigger than the standard of today. She gave me 5 puppies since a week now with Kaghan , they are all reserved by Beauceron's breeders.
I am not a dog breeders, I do chicken show that cost a lot.
I just love dogs especially BEAUCERON. I don't do that for money, I try to keep my track to keep as I told you earlier, the best of what they are despite L.O.F!
I love this breed so much!
L.O.F means Books of French Origin.
And a lot of Champions were not issue from LOF .
The only thing that my dogs are not LOF is because they are taller and bigger but respect all the aspect.
From my first BEAUCERON I have seen them getting smaller and smaller witch is not what they really are.
A BEAUCERON is not a doberman pincher, not a rottweiler, not a Chinese red dog either(I do love this breed also).
A BEAUCERON is one of the most ancient breed and I am glad that they are not popular so we can keep them as they are from century.
    That was my 2 cents!

Had two of these (not together). Really intelligent breed, only loud when necessary, not just barking at whatever passes by your house. Mine were both great with kids, even unfamiliar ones. Our cat which we had together with the second one, was sometimes being chased, but never harmed. Easily trainable (not like a Malinois, I mean more basic stuff). Friendly to people who act normally, but rest assured: nobody will harm you when you have one of these by your side.

I had a beauceron (female) as my first dog, it was a little unsocialized, so I could never trust her that it would not bite strangers BUT when i got son, my fear was that it would act agressive toward him, at that time she was already 11 years old… But altought she was okd, a little unsocialized, she was very gentle with baby! Altought at the end she had tumor in her nose she never act agressively towards two years old boy, despite him bumping head towards her nose!!! Best dog ever!!!

We adopted a grown-up beauceron last month, he's our first dog (never had another one before) and everything's fine, he learns fast, so people CAN have a beauceron as a first dog, if they're willing to learn about the breed and train them right. Also, we had cats, chicken and rabbits when we adopted him, and we easily taught him NOT to chase them, so other animals are not a problem either, it juste takes a little bit of work ! ;-)
They're wonderful family dogs, very loyal, full of love and unbridled energy, always ready to play or to go for a walk, maybe a bit exuberant sometimes, but clearly a wonderful breed ! :-)

They are not highly trainable. They are trainable though. I've had a lot of dogs. Mostly pits, some chows, a Catahoula/pit mix, mutt/pit mix and a Dutch Shepherd. My beauceron has been without a doubt the hardest to train. BUT, when I let him out on the property with our daughter, you better believe nothing is getting close to her. It us absolutely amazing to watch. He keeps a constant watch of everything and everyone. No one. And I mean no one, or no animal, or no thing can get within 50 yards of her. We haven't tried to train him to do that. He just does it.
This is an edit: I have to add that he is 125 lbs also. Big even for his breed.
