Yeah, at this point I have no sympathy for anyone buying American ones. The UK ones seem genuinely designed to delight, US ones give the thrill of the purchase but nothing else. Tbh, it’s the opposite of spiritual advent, just a greedathon so people get what they get lol. Reviewers profit from them but they are a total scam for the actual consumer. I think a lot of people buy them just to commiserate with the channel, or they feel bad for the TH-camr 😂 I really wish people had to prove they understand the very sketchy economic model upon which social media runs - any fulltime TH-camr is likely to make a decent profit from a bad advent calendar, there’s no need for people to send money and sympathy.
You should make a video of things you would put in an advent calendar and then have it as a giveaway for your followers! I look forward to these videos every year 💗😁🎁
I’m fairly new, but I’m soooooo in!! EDIT: I’m not just new to the channel, but taking care of my skin and actually TRYING with my makeup, lol - despite my age.
lowkey sick of everyone saying ur changed and expensive now. i personally LOVE the high end boxes BECAUSE i cant afford them. i would never know whats in them. im glad you’re able to share the experience with us 😊🫶🏼
Agreed! Tastes and budgets change, I used to buy drugstore stuff, now I like more high end so why shouldn’t content creators feel the same way?. Are they supposed to have the same interests forever and make the same content over and over again? I also think most viewers aren’t buying advent calendars of any price point, these are just light, fun videos to have on when you’re getting ready or whatever.
I don’t get all of the nasty comments on the last few videos. I love all of the different content no matter what it is. I feel bad that people say some awful things. Move along if you no longer have an interest in the channel.
I don't think "everyone" is saying that, it's literally only a handful of people out of hundereds. As long as her personality dosen't change too much.. is what I care about. I know a few beauty TH-camrs who turned into "pretentious snobs" a few years after their channels got bigger which is when I stopped watching them. One of them I now call "The Dragon Lady" becuase her personality changed [so much] the last 2-3 years. 👿
@@lindsayhoffman2688 my issue is that these expensive advent calendars are exclusively holiday content. she doesn’t make expensive content all year round she makes a mix and its only during holidays where things get more expensive. its just a given but people are taking it personally.
I never understand why cant these companies sell advent calendars in a light, medium, dark type of way to add color cosmetic that would fit- like blushes and bronzers
I love your advent calendar videos even though I live in lebanon and I can't buy any of them, I subscribed to your channel last year because of the advent calendar videos ❤❤❤❤love your energy ❤️ 💕 😘
I used to think I only liked watching advent calendar fails, but I fell in love with your Vogue unboxings and now I really enjoy seeing boxes you actually love! So much fun. I also popped over to your fragrance channel and suddenly I want to smell like a queen all the time 😂
I have never once bought or cared about advent calendars, but I really like how the little packages are arranged in the box, its so aesthetically pleasing!
At first ur literally the cutest when u get excited 😂😂 Would u make a video of what u kept and what u gave it away from these calendars? Or the new products to u that u liked
i agree, a followup (even just for one calendar, i'm sure it would get crazy trying to keep track of more than that) or of the stuff you liked most would be fab, maybe in january?
The Dr. Levy stuff is INSANE. I haven't tried the booster cream but I've tried the serum, a mask, the eye concentrate and the cleanser. I'm also an advent calendar girl so I've tried my fair share of Barbara Sturm and Augustinus Bader, so those are up there in price and they're fine but almost every Dr. Levy thing I've tried has made an actual massive visual improvement in my skin in terms of fine lines/wrinkles. Use it at a time when you're not incorporating anything else in your routine (so you know what's doing it) and watch magic happen, seriously. It blows my mind that I don't hear more people talking about it.
Love this series from you! Last year you inspired me to buy a bougier calendar and it was so fun. This year, the one I wanted most sold out so I'm reusing the calendar packaging from last year and making my own for fun.
This is the first calendar I’ve seen you review that is actually nice in term of products I would like and use, imo…. Although, as for lovely looking advent calendars- Space NK’s and Vogue’s were tres cool!
I love bronzing drops to mix in with my foundation. Sometimes my skin looks more dry and cakey with a little tan going on lol sometimes i’ll mix it with my screen too to give a lil something! helps match my face to my body since my body is slightly more tan than my face! ❤
That Lisa Eldrige lipstick looks like the shades you were loving a few summers ago, which you used to pair with a chartreuse eye. Seems like a good fit for you!
I just restocked on that Paula’s Choice mandelic acid toner for the Sephora sale. I love that stuff. I have very sensitive skin and I use it a couple times a week. It’s very gentle but exfoliates your skin beautifully and really helps with texture ❤
LONG (and unasked for) reply coming up… First of all, I love your channels, Lauren. You make me laugh and I appreciate your insight. I love the research you do. Ok, this is my house. Back in the 80’s, I read some historical romance that mentioned Jicky - one of the first fragrances. The way it was described, well, I needed to smell it. I lived on an island off the coast of Seattle and made my mom drive me to the one store that sold perfume (a drugstore) and searched the shelves in vain for it. Shockingly, the tiny Mom and Pop pharmacy did not have a bottle of Guerlain’s Jicky on the shelves, nestled next to the White Shoulders and the Emeraude. 😂 A few years after that, I started taking clarinet lessons once a week in downtown Seattle. I would have to kill time after my lesson before I could catch the bus to the ferry, so I started spending time hounding the poor counter sellers at Nordstroms. I immediately found the Guerlain counter and a lifelong love was spawned. I went back week after week and asked so many questions, sprayed so many bottles, begged for so many samples, and eventually bought my first bottle - which I still have (empty, of course): L’Heure Bleue. My collection has its own separate section of my closet. And I do use some of their skincare and cosmetics. I did order one of their advent calendars a few years ago. This year’s box is the prettiest one I’ve seen, though. I think Guerlain is known for its vanillas. The original Shalimar is not my favorite (you hit it, it can come across as dated, many people pick up on a tire note in it). Every year they release a flanker. Here are my favorite Shalimars: Shalimar Millésime Tonka (2022) - This increases the almonds. It almost smells chewy, if that makes sense. No civet or any other animal to be found. Millésime Vanilla Planifolia (2021) - Sweet vanilla. And powder. And vanilla. With powder. But also with sugar. This is the only one I’ve worn where one of my stipudents tried to lick my arm - so now I don’t wear it to work anymore because it’s creepy to have the children try to taste us. Soufflé de Parfum (2014) - This one really ups the citrus before the vanilla comes in (like an early version of Devotion. Similar to Lira, maybe?) Ode a la Vanille Sur la Route du Mexique Guerlain (2013) - This one has caramel and chocolate in it. Very similar to the OG. Not as foody as the notes imply. Spiriteuse Double Vanille definitely has achieved cult status. I love it on other people. It pulls weird on me. A lot of people love different Aqua Allegorias. My favorite is Nettare di Sole because I love the honey note in it. It really is sunshine in a bottle. Regarding the makeup, I love the Meteorites Pearls of Powder and their Perfecting Pearls base which gives me a really glowy look - to the point that I can skip foundation. I love their Abeille Royale skincare line - which is really expensive, but not as much as their Orchidee Imperiale line. So I think the calendar IS worth it, if you think this house is one you think you might be interested in, but aren’t sure what you might want to start with. But I’d see if I could go into it with someone else. The main reason I feel this way is because their products are so expensive. And it takes a while to know if they’re going to be the perfect ones for you. I thought I would love Spiriteuse Double Vanille, but it doesn’t work for/on me. 1-2 tries at a counter just wasn’t enough to know that. Unfortunately, I have a huge bottle in my collection I just don’t use, instead. On me, it pulls total menthol/ band-aids (Lune Feline does that too!). One of the wee bottles would have been enough for me to realize that, though. On the other hand, 1-2 sprays of L’Heure Bleue would have turned me away. I needed to sit with it to really get to know her. Now it’s one of my favorite fragrances to wear to bed. To the point that my daughters definitely associate it with me and have purchased me a gorgeous engraved, personalized bottle. On that note, of the hundreds of bottles of perfume my daughters will inherit, my Guerlain bottles are really the only ones that would be ones to pass down. They are ones that I could see becoming antiques.
OMG PAI?! That brand is the bomb! Their face wash is my favorite. They have different shades of the bronzer drops, so it’s a good thing for people of all skin tones. ❤

Uk is definitely where its at are they shipping to the states some werent last time I checked a few years ago
I loved the ASOS one when I got it about 6 years ago and they had it again this year with mostly full-sized items and overall great value!

Not a whole advent calendar, but Fenty currently has a "Hauliday" drop box with 2 colorways.

Yes! Such a fun idea even if it’s just a couple stand out products from across all the calendars
Yes, I agree😊
I love seeing you unboxing these advents rather they’re good or bad, I thoroughly enjoy the whole process ❤️
I have an oily scalp and long, sleek, large-volume hair, but this hair mask is amazing. It doesn't make my hair overly weighted or oily.

Calendar Queen, you did good on this one!!!

Pretty good calendar. Love a demo on eyebrows from you I’m desperate lol❤ love your videos.

This was actually so good 🎉
_Yyyassss!_ August-EEN-us. The fave of mature ladies in country clubs everywhere! 😂
I would like to see a clip after a week of using the products. Let’s get a review of how they work and see you wearing the makeup colours.

That was a nice box good stuff ❤
I love these videos!!
PLEASE tell us what brand the sweater is!
I’ve literally never commented on a TH-cam video before lol. That’s how badly I need to know. 😂
Hi. Jst a note. Niche-beauty does carry paula's choice at least here in germany 🎀
I love your videosss
I hate when beauty brands do supplements, and I hate it when they throw them in boxes and calenders
Whoa, this advent calendar is not full of air and scrunchies!
This is a good one!
Oooh another upload so soon 😍
Where’s your sweater from queen!
After all the duds I'm glad you are getting good products. You look good in your glasses. I am light complected with blond hair, What are you using on your eyebrows 🤔
I use bronzing drops (GR hue drops) to get rid of the white cast I get from mineral sunscreens 😂
That $105 cream that came in the glass bottle seemed so much nicer until you realize that the cap is just as tall as the bottle with the product. Definitely not getting as much product as you would assume based on how tall the Outer box was
Sorry if we're making you go broke but I love this series ! I don't do Advent calendars but its fun watching you!🥰
Compared to the Sephora advent calendar this is amazing
The ingredients in those are the same ingredients that are in prenatals prenatals have a lot more but I could see how that would work on the hair
I loooooove your sweater!! Where did you get it? This box was a great deal imo . I love this series.
Babe WHERE is that sweater from?? I’m about to add it to my Christmas wishlist
Cute sweater
Are there any brands left in stock worth getting??
LH cosmetics has an all full size advent calendar. I purchased it and was able to get a shit load of their products.
I wouldn’t want you to be my secret santa. I don’t think I could keep myself from fainting. lol
I can explain how the Mutha firming cream works. It doesn’t! It’s just a gimmick!
