Fr. Bought some YSL cologne for my bf recently, I spent maybe $120 altogether and got a bag of freebies, all YSL branded. It came with a small makeup bag, a mini lipstick, a mini sized bottle of Black Opium perfume, and two makeup sample cards, one containing multiple shades of concealer, and one with three shades of their loveshine balm. THAT'S what I would consider proper Sephora Advent Calender gifts. If it's not a problem for them to give this stuff away free when we buy a certain amount in store, why not include stuff like that in their advent calendar?

That beauty insider box is a HUGE missed opportunity from Sephora. They’re literally owned by one of the largest luxury beauty retailers in the world. If you are a Sephora customer and have those kinds of points that means you are dropping tons of cash at their store and are likely VIB Rouge. As stated in the video 2500 points is roughly a $500 monetary value. Sephora should’ve made this calendar super luxurious and super exclusive. So that people want to spend the money to get the points to get this calendar next year. It’s literally a missed marketing opportunity. Putting out this stupid box is proof that Sephora doesn’t understand the current beauty market or how their consumer thinks. You’d have super happy rouge clients and be well on the way to earning more. People love a goal.
I thought that they will do the plan you just described. A fabulous calendar that everyone wants to have. Everyone would buy one with their points but the next calendar would be not that great again.
Yes! Such a missed opportunity. Anyone with that many points who is aware there’s a calendar like this to redeem them for and chooses to do so is clearly a returning customer who regularly spends money at Sephora. Not many people would just happen to rack up that amount of points by shopping there here and there. These are clearly dedicated beauty consumers who are likely aware of the trends and value of what they’re getting from the products. Sephora could have knocked it out of the park and had the next big exclusive thing for next holiday season everyone is dying to get their hands on. Instead they gave them trash.
this one is extra bad bc it's supposed to be for your money AND your loyalty to the store, but Sephora is notorious for making crappy advent calendars year after year, after year and people still buy them anyway, they put exactly the same products in the same spots just with different print every year "surprise" 😂😂😂

The point perk is honestly insulting! Like I’m mad for you because they knew!! THEY KNEW!! There is absolutely no way someone thought it was worth it like no everyone who worked on this knew it was a scam.
The $50 box makes sense for a gift for a 13 yr old cousin or something. The beauty insider box is just robbery. I would be soooooooooo pissed. It doesn't even make sense because they actually make some good makeup products. They could give you mid toned lipstains and blushes. They make good eye liners, lip liners, and mascara. They literally have good options and they chose to give party bag gifts for preteens instead.
I saw the $50 one on Sephora and the reviews were all roasted the 💩 out of it lol. I was really hoping one of my favorite TH-camrs would do the same and so happy it was you ❤ sorry it was so terrible though thank you for saving people money with your thorough review
That second box was sooo much better than I expected. I would be very happy with that if I got it. Maybe a little happier if it was $75, but happy nonetheless. I won’t be picking it up, but I am impressed
If I worked for Sephora, I would be embarrassed that the company name is on that Beauty Insider calendar. The fact that it's so exclusive and then ends up being just trash is an insult to their most loyal customers. Yep i shake it up often
Holy shit, the second one was actually incredible!! That giant bottle of cleansing balm really put it over the top! 👏🏻👏🏻🏆
You know when you pop open a Christmas cracker as a fun little thing to do, and you end up getting like a whistle, or a spinning top. That’s what this garbage is. It was a giant box of beauty insider branded joke gifts. What an absolute slap in the face. That’s how they’re treating their LOYAL customers.
Wow, the beauty insider calendar was literally THE WORST! Apparently I am twisted, because I was laughing SO HARD about your reactions to opening that. The first calendar was complete garbage for $50, but the third one (which should’ve been SO much better, especially for being so exclusive) would hurt wayyyyyy worse! I felt for you! The only advent calendar worth it was that second one. Oooof. THANK YOU for taking one for the team so we can learn from your experience and save ourselves some money & heartache
The green box was SO good, but the last one was SO bad!
You are hilarious. I literally burst out laughing at some of your comments on the last calendar 😂😂 Sephora did us so dirty with that 2500point calendar.. ugh!
Mhm, “a bunch of trash” is so accurate 🚮
Maybe the gold hair clips are real gold 😂 so I can melt it down and get my money's worth
That is a great comment.
Lauren, you took one for the team!
I'm a corporate recruiter and the Beauty Insider shit reminds me of swag we used to give a way at job fairs. Garbage!
LAUREN I am WHEEZING at your Peter Piper Pizza comment 🤣🤣
Like, I am so sorry it was so terrible. But also, if it’s of any solace, this was super entertaining.😂💀
That must be like a Chuck E. Cheese?
I would be sooooo upset 😮 I feel they really take advantage of us .Great video .
I already knew the 2500 point calendar was bad enough that Sephora was refunding points, but it's so much worse than I thought! Definitely get your points back!
9:39 no NO NO those hurt sooo bad!! My sister gave me and my twin these hair pieces and they hurt taking them out and putting them in bc they snagged my hair so much and the metal part was like not on the plastic part properly
I heard a lot of people were getting their points back on that atrocious calendar.
Holy moly. Peter Piper Pizza. I haven't thought about them in years! Thank you for bringing me back to the good times!
if i were sephora and i was interested in making a good sephora brand advent calendar i would do like. full size eyeliner. full size lip liner. some of those tools and bath products. single eyeshadow. a nice brush on the last day. i love sephora brushes..
"Don't let them throw a festival" 😂 that 2500 pt box is insulting wow haha
The oat cleansing balm is my fave but just a heads up - when you think there’s no more product left you got to cut it open because there will be a lot left! The packaging isn’t the greatest for the product itself 😊
It's good
i love how she zooms in on the product too and doesn't just leaves for others to guess how it is.
I absolutely love when you do these so eye opening
I saw someone on TikTok open the 2500 points calendar and I knew you were going to be disappointed.
Same
The Dr. Dennis Gross peel pads are amazing. I have sensitive skin and I love them. Definitely try❤
I do too
Obsessed how i dont have to speed the video up ❤
The point perk is honestly insulting! Like I’m mad for you because they knew!! THEY KNEW!! There is absolutely no way someone thought it was worth it like no everyone who worked on this knew it was a scam.
Watching you rip on the 2500 points box I WAS DYING LAUGHING 😂 IM DEAD 💀
The $50 box makes sense for a gift for a 13 yr old cousin or something. The beauty insider box is just robbery. I would be soooooooooo pissed. It doesn't even make sense because they actually make some good makeup products. They could give you mid toned lipstains and blushes. They make good eye liners, lip liners, and mascara. They literally have good options and they chose to give party bag gifts for preteens instead.
Wow! Can't literally believe how bad the last one was 😮. Bless you for sacrificing your points for our curiosity
I saw the $50 one on Sephora and the reviews were all roasted the 💩 out of it lol. I was really hoping one of my favorite TH-camrs would do the same and so happy it was you ❤ sorry it was so terrible though thank you for saving people money with your thorough review
This is the best video of all time. I wish their marketing department would watch this
Lauren shaking that red thing 🤣 I died.
That third box is proof of Sephora’s contempt for their customers. They really think that we are all just wide open wallets out here. Revolting.
That second box was sooo much better than I expected. I would be very happy with that if I got it. Maybe a little happier if it was $75, but happy nonetheless. I won’t be picking it up, but I am impressed
I just saw a video about the french Sephora advent calendar and it was stunning. A french TH-camr showed it.
Which French TH-camr? I have been looking to add more French to my feed.
Did they use their U.S. sales to subsidise the French one or something? Makes no sense why there's such a big discrepancy
If I worked for Sephora, I would be embarrassed that the company name is on that Beauty Insider calendar. The fact that it's so exclusive and then ends up being just trash is an insult to their most loyal customers. Everyone involved with creating that calendar should be ashamed because these are products so bad that you maybe couldn't even find this stuff on Wish or Temu. No one would knowingly spend money on that. I'm sorry, girl. Thanks for doing the unboxing so everyone knows.
I was crying so hard, I choked on my own spit. Gawd I love you! The finger puppet from the insider calendar was where everything went sideways for me. Breathing became difficult. ❤😂 thanks for allowing me the ab workout
I thought the black thing was a car steering wheel cover! 😂
Cannot believe how beautiful your skin is!
As a Canadian I haven't seen the sephora favorites advent calendar on the app so this unboxing is exciting!
I was surprised with it!! Hopefully it will come to the app soon!
If any advent calendar is great, the one on style Korea is the best. You get full-size products ranging from skincare and makeup. It’s 10 pounds of products for $130. Anything you don’t like, you can gift it to other people for Christmas.
HERE FOR THE ZENON GIRL OF THE 21ST CENTURY REFERENCE
11:41 I agree for 50dol, buy something special you will enjoy using like a beautiful guerlain powder you will be happy and special to use and take in your purse for example.
I would have been soooo disappointed 😥 thank you for doing this ❤
Lauren, thanks for always taking one for the team! You're the best.
Will you show us a collection (or even on your fragrance channel) of all your cute teeny perfume bottles?
First calendar looks good for a teen just getting into makeup
Omg I'm so glad I didn't get that advent calendar!!! This is the first time I've collected over 2,000 points, and I was so close to spending them
I am so glad I watched this. Thank you for saving me the money and embarrassment. I had thought about these for my nieces at Thanksgiving. So glad I watched. Thank you!
