Us kids used to just love breakfast for supper nights! We thought it was a special treat. Little did we know! After mom had passed in 2015 (Dad's been gone since 1981), we were sitting around talking about various memories, and we realized that breakfast for supper usually happened around the end of the month. It was then that we realized that breakfast for supper was a struggle meal instead of the treat that we had always thought! Ah, the innocence of childhood!

We had cream of wheat when my family ran out of food. I loved it with lots of butter
🌼🌱🌼We had 🥞 and 🥓 for Supper when I was growing up. I even did that for my kids at their request. Sometimes I'd mix in a little cinnamon and nutmeg with a teaspoon of sugar with the Batter 😋. I haven't eaten today and now I'm hungry for pancakes 😂. Love Breakfast for supper.
Buttermilk pancakes are good. Breakfast food for supper is always a win.
I like any kind of pancakes. The more butter and syrup, the better. I usually eat sausage with mine. There’s just something about the sweet syrupy pancakes and the spicy sausage. Yum yum!

The mother of one of my childhood friends used to put sour cream in her pancakes and fry them in butter. Oh boy, were they GOOD! I grew up in the North, but it just goes to show that great cooking has common threads. One of the things I love about your channel is that you sometimes spark a wonderful memory for me, just like you did today. God Bless you Tipper,and all of your family.

My husband was walking by when you were pouring your warm maple syrup. That’s the way we like to serve it too. He also noted that you have the same “fancy” pitcher we use. Life is good.

Sunday dinners after church, Mother could make the fluffiest pancakes and scrambled eggs. With bacon or sausage, some times with scrapple. Best eating in the world. I miss those days.
I will be honest, I have never been served a pancake that i didn't like. One of the comfort foods from my childhood.
I remember countless dinners with pancakes or simply bacon and eggs. The most wonderful treats were my grandmothers apple fritters or potato pancakes. Thanks Tipper for great memories!

We just had breakfast for dinner last night. I went all in and we had gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs ,bacon,and apple jelly, Definitely agree with the person that said you Make our evenings better, my husband even watches with me sometimes I'm always telling him about everything y'all do , it helps motivate us ! Thank you so Happy granny is feeling better,my mom is coming home from the hospital tomorrow,she has been there for over a month so we are ready to have her home!

A hallmark of my growing up was spending the night at my friend’s house. There would be a big group of girls and we did not get a lot of sleep. In the morning, her dad would invariably make buckwheat pancakes. It didn’t matter if we were hungry or liked them, because he was a stern man, we ate them. We’re still friends, almost 60 years later, and we still laugh about buckwheat pancakes.

I have always used the Bisquick recipe on the box and we would have breakfast for supper sometimes, a real treat. Our children loved it and big Saturday morning breakfasts. My husband and I would cook together for the children and add special things like sugar and vanilla flavoring, lemon juice….the recipe on the box used to say “for ultimate pancakes” or something like that, add the sugar, vanilla flavoring and lemon juice. Seemed like it made them taste even better and they were fluffier. My parents always bought Cane Patch syrup for us growing up. I can’t ever find it in the stores now. I loved it.
In the summer my dad loved what he called Carter sandwiches. Sounds horrible but so good. Scrambled eggs, tomatoes, bacon and mayo. So good on white bread 😊

I love pancakes for breakfast, lunch and supper. Tonight we’re having loaded baked potatoes, side of broccoli and cheese. Dessert will be strawberries with cool whip and sliced apples with peanut butter . It’s been a long day here too.

My family used to have pancake suppers sometimes growing up! (Especially when I got old enough to learn how to flip em over - when the bubbles popped and the batter looked drier.)
My dad didn't like to eat very much in the early morning before his factory job, and we all got in the habit of having just a small bowl of hot or cold cereal and tiny glasses of milk and orange juice for breakfast. We'd usually have eggs (and maybe bacon) and toast w/jelly on the weekends, when we could sleep a bit longer and didn't need the counter space for packing lunches.
I remember that my Uncle Ken on the farm used to eat a bowl of Corn Flakes before milking the cows, then he came back in for a second breakfast of toast with lots of peanut butter while he had coffee with my grandparents. Grandma fixed the largest meal (meat, potatoes & vegetables) at mid-day then, so the men had plenty of energy for their labor out in the fields, and they had lighter fare (soup or sandwiches) for supper.
Pancakes are hard to beat for breakfast or supper. I like bacon with pancakes. They each make the other taste better.

On special Saturday mornings me da used to make pancakes on an ages-old cast iron griddle, using Hungry Jack mix and served with Log Cabin syrup. Always Fischer's bacon and scrambled eggs as accompaniments. He worked nights as a pressman for Standard Gravure in Louisville Kentucky, often double shifts. Tipper brings up childhood food memories of good days. 🥞 (Silver dollar pancakes for the grandbabies 😉.)

Me too! I thought I was the only one and now have found another person who does also. I love, love, love peanut butter. I put it on my banana sandwich, toast, vanilla wafers and ginger snaps. I slice up an apple and use peanut butter as a dip for the slices.
That's our favorite too!! Mama always fried her pancakes in bacon grease which also made them yummy😋

I love pancakes anyway you make them. I like them crispy too, maybe they're called hot cakes then. I love buttermilk, I drink it all the time. We like buttermilk and cornbread.

The complete buttermilk pancake mix just calls for water. I never thought about adding milk or buttermilk! Those look really good.
Looks good!! Make breakfast for supper once a week. We fast during the day. Eat one meal a day. If we didn't make breakfast for supper we would never get to eat breakfast. Sometimes make it twice a week. Easy recipe and you explain it so well. Thanks
Pancakes for dinner. Oh yes. At times we have put slice bananas in the pancake while it was cooking. Or even apples for fun. My great Grandma would make what was called silver dollar pancakes.They were so tiny and it was always so fun to eat them at her house. I don't remember the number but I remember when I was younger one time I ate so many. I was trying to see how many I could eat.
If we had pancakes for supper we would put butter and apple sauce on them.

Mom always used a cast iron skillet and heated it until a drop of water would dance across the skillet and she never used a fat or oil to cook them and they never stuck.
Graham Kerr would stir a teaspoon or two of oil into the batter to make it all "self-lubricating" , which is far less fat than greasing the pan for each pancake. that's the same way crepes are made.

We always do eggs and pancakes. My husband loves to add mushed banana to his and topped with blueberries. I always make sure to add eggs and bacon and fruit if I have it on hand. Never can go wrong with breakfast.

We love breakfast for supper. Always a hard decision, pancakes or waffles.
Left over pancakes are also good cold, slathered with some butter & peanut butter - like a sandwich but a pancake instead and makes an easy noon meal. I have not tried this but have been told baking them on a cookie sheet - either in rounds or as a slab covering the cookie sheet, works too and no need to flip.
Breakfast for supper is one of my kids favorites, especially when pancakes are involved. Would love to see your recipe with the sour cream sometime.
Your pancakes looked yummy! When I was growin up my mom made pancakes frequently. We had either regular pancakes or buttermilk pancakes. I've always loved them! I carried on the tradition with my husband and kids.

We have breakfast for supper sometimes too. My mom used to put Club Soda in her waffles and they were so delicious too! I actually forgot about that until you mentioned Pap putting Sprite in his pancakes.

Tipper the food looked fantastic. My wife and I eat breakfast for supper also. Mostly use sweet milk for all cooking. Like you and Matt, we both cook, depending on what we are going to eat. Hope the threat of flooding has passed.
