How great it must be to have your bison come up to you and let you scratch him on the nose. The love you have for your animals and the dedication of your hard work shines through.
Dusty, It has been such an adventure to follow along and watch your dreams of building a herd,of these Majestic animals. come true. I remember you telling us that Bison are survivors of the last ice age. in N America.. It conjured up a vision of the herds, with their little red dogs, grazing on the praires, with a towering wall of ice in the distance. I am looking forward to seeing the turkey eggs hatch and grow. That is a worthy project! The Wild Turkey was once considered a candidate for the National Bird. You are doing your part to save them and preserve our Heritage of native. species.. ❤
@@bonnieisabelle3641 Hi, Bonnieisabelle, pretty name. I recall Dusty being asked about Bison twins, but I don’t recall what he said. I have the impression that it is very rare if it happens at all. . i do know that horses have twins. I , also have heard that about cattle having a sterile heifer twin. I have read many histories and biographies about the Native American tribes. and their great Chiefs and Holy men. They regarded the Bison as sacred animals, especially the White Buffalo.
Dusty, 😱 5 yrs already .. congratulations 👏👏 Thank you for bringing us along on your journey raising these majestic (freight trains😂) animals. The trust and respect you both have built to be able scratch his nose 👍 with their coats they carry with them I'd bet they're hot at 95*
Wow that is so Great to see all the Red Dogs. You've got a Great looking hurd of Bison . your doing awesome job 👍👍👍👍 PS I'VE been a big fan of yours from the first five . I remember the first time we saw Brookes she was so little,👍👍👍
Did you say it was 95F?! No wonder the Bison wants to go dip their toes! :) I love turkeys - we live within city limits and get some "wild" turkeys visiting every day - one had a badly hurt leg, so she stays mostly in our yard, getting fed and watered and having a safe place. She is now fully mended, and she knows my voice, she will come running when called. (So maybe not that wild anymore) - sweet animals. Scared of the squirrels though lol.
I love this channel. The care of the land working with nature to preserve the Bison. All the expansion with horses, chickens, now turkeys. Still working with nature and ranching it.
This old Marine loves watching you kids…you are the salt of the earth and those who live off the land are doing God’s work!!🙏 Keep up your site as you bring so much joy to more than you will ever know. 👏👏👍👍😎🇺🇸
Dusty and Marissa love your videos and enjoy watching them. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and the bison and other animals and checking the herd of Buffalo
Dusty, I am originally from Vermont. Grew up there and had a neighbor who raised the domestic white turkeys just behind his small cottage and his 30 acres of apple orchard. After he passed, the State of Vermont got a grant to raise wild turkeys, starting with 12 pairs of Tom and Hen. That action took place in the 1960's and from that point, most States use wild pairs that have a connection to this wild idea started when I grew up. Best place for seed and crop food for turkeys. He sold apples, turkeys and honey and today, the State of Vermont expanded this project. In the 2000's , they introduced wild pairs of Pheasents and like Turkeys, it also was a perfect habitat for growth in the Orchard.
I love the Bison. Big Joe is my favorite male. Wish you still had the Big Joe cups and tumblers. And Eleanor and Bellestar. The reddogs are so cute I absolutely love reddog season.❤❤❤
Thank you Dusty, Marissa, Brooks and Mia for giving us 5 years and for bringing us along with you on your wonderful bison ranchin! And the new chapter with the wild turkeys. Good luck
I love being a subscriber to your channel! It is a pleasure to follow you and your endeavors. I consider being with you on your journey to be a great privilege and honor. Thank you so very much.
I can’t believe it’s been 5 years! I remember the 1st episode, baby Dusty all nervous 😂😂 to now, my husband telling me “we are NOT putting a bison in our backyard”. 😂❤
Big fun to see the bison hanging out at "Club Red." Turkey eggs are impressive! Is there a higher count of predators in the area? Or could the turkey population have diminished due to multiple drought years? Fun projects! 'Glad your family had a nice vacation. Y'all deserve it. Please update us on your Mom.
I don't often comment, but I started watching your channel from almost the start. I eagerly look forward to each new episode of your fascinating journey of raising the amazing Bison...as well as the raising of Brooke, her chickens, additional cats, dogs, horses, and now hopefully turkeys. Thank you for the shout out to those who have become loyal followers.
Cattle (so I'm assuming bison) do not sweat and use water to cool down, just like you might if you sit on a dock or the bank and put your feet in a pond or creek.
And-thank you both for sharing what you know-& what you’re learning-which educates so many viewers like me🤗 on so many topics above & beyond the majestic bison!! Kudos to you all!! Much I appreciation!!
I have learned right along with the rest of your Baker family since 2018, too. I enjoy your videos in my retirement. Thank you all to The Baker Clan & Friends!!!
The little red dog taking a dust bath was soooo adorable. Can you get more Rio Grand? And which is the more commonly, naturally found subspeicies, Rio Grand orEastern?
( ? "Feathers 'n' Fur " ?) Loved this Post ! Thanks to you Both ! When the Bison begin to shed in the spring, The turkeys can use the "Fur " to soften the nests for their eggs ! ( and for the American "gourmand " - "Barbecued Bison 'n' Bird " ... a new menu for the traditional True American Thanksgiving Feast ! ) What a concept !
Such a great idea, you need to get your brother in law to join in the process. I love seeing the Bison come up to you and love to get their noses scratched. Thank you Dusty, Marissa, and Brooks.❤️❤️

Looks like the herd is doing well so far. I love what you're doing for the 🦃s. Most ppl hunt, I love that you're trying to keep the balance with wildlife 👏👏👏❤️ much love from Calgary Alberta
This reminds me of when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya. At my site, I wouldn't see the various wild animals (usually, but not limited to baboons) in the bush until they wanted you to. This was also true of travelling by bus... giraffes or zebras would be crossing the road and even though you'd try to watch, the entire herd would manage to disappear into the brush. 😂
I am new to your channel and is a pleasure to see the love for your animals god bless you dusty, Marisa and your baby I am sad what happened to your town god think no life’s were taken I saw your mom’s shop was horrible god bless y’all from San Antonio, Texas love y’all guys
Keep after it with the turkeys. Several colleagues of mine took it upon themselves to reintroduce turkeys to our part of Kansas. They spent several years at it, but had great success. Once mature, they set a large cage in the woods and released 1/3 of the birds. These birds hung around the cage and got eaten. They then released the second 1/3 of the birds which went to the trees, but mostly got eaten. They released the final third who got the hell out of Dodge and seemed to survive well.
One of the reasons I enjoy your channel is because you are so down to earth- I know nothing is always perfect, but I find your channel so relaxing. You are an amazing person, husband and father. Keep being you.

Domestic cats are really hard on the quail population, also their natural habitats are being decimated by sub divisions. Thanks to y’all for your great content
I really enjoy the egg hatching videos, that’s one of the reason I love watching Marie at Random Okie Farms. I would love to see he turkey and quail populations increase again!
Don't know about turkeys, but the quail population went up and down according to the amount of rain we received in West Texas. This was back many years ago. During at least one point my parent's farm did not get measurable amounts of rain for 3 years. It was good that both my parents were raised on farms and the fact they were wise enough to drill multiple wells around their property and make extensive use of drip irrigation.
Congratulations on 5 years! I love seeing the bison! Yeah i think 95 is hot, i can't blame them for wanting to hang out in the woods or water. Loved sering the reddogs hanging out in the water or even rolling.
Love seeing the baby roll on the ground. You and Marissa have come along way. Congratulations! We have wild turkey everywhere here in Maine. Love that the Bison come to you.

I enjoy watching the bison 🦬 in the water cooling off. It’s so lovely just to watch them you are so lucky Dusty, Marissa & Brook . With the bison going into the woods because it’s cooler & the water is there at the moment, Dusty is it a lot more cause for concern because the ground is not level for them that the bison 🦬 might break a leg wandering off down there? It looks pretty and a lot shady for them. But they could hurt themselves. God Bless you Dusty, Marissa & Brook keep your Family , Farm, Bison 🦬 safe . Amen 🙏 🙏🙏❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
