@@WorthABuyreviewsMack, mate. Why even bothered to answer. No need to explain yourself here. Some people just don't get it, just like you said in your world class review!
I started to understand why so many modern games have "X ray vision". Its because the readability of enemies is so bad. Its not as much of x-ray vision as its a clutch for developers to highlight enemies ( or objects ), or otherwise you would just not notice them. Unlike as in older titles where developers actually put lot of work to make enemies "readable" from the clutter in background.
Something like the Last of Us on the hardest mode needs to be standard, none of this x ray vision, all it needed was advanced audio and trickery (in the Last of Us hardest mode, noise from clickers and bloaters). Now we have the technology to do it as standard this generation with Dolby Atmos, 3D Audio and Spatial Audio, except developers are made to do the bare basics by publishers because innovation costs money. Look at the Dualsense, best controller on the market with innovations throughout (Astro’s Playroom showed what can be done) except even Sony’s own triple A games barely use them.
That's a fantastic point that I personally never thought of before, ofc these games are increasingly designed for literal children and low attention span r*tards but I'm sure what you said is a HUGE part of that as well.
Because everything is very detailed and high-definition. That is the standards nowdays because the hardwares are strong enough to deal with them. Older times developers were limited by weak hardwares so they can't make everything super detailed and high-quality.
Agreed This game is unplayable without the xray. I tried. What i did was raise enemy damage to high. My damage to enemies low. still flirting between low and medium. This allows xray to be used without allowing xray to take away the challenge. Im loving the game as I loved the movies

It had just about every mechanic I've seen before in these kinds of games, but presented to fit the theme of a 1980s miniature backyard adventure. The setting was striking and unique, but the gameplay wasn't. That seems to be what Poopisoft did with this Avatar game, I agree with the reviewer. They took a predefined open world game design and "skinned" it to the setting created in the Avatar films.

Mech - it only dies from 2 arrows (sometimes even one) - when u hit the human inside, sometimes they have window that requires u to hit multiple times to break it - so its not so bad. Jungle is not boring - there are multiple biomeses - but the thing is this game is one of these games where u need to play story to enjoy, then u just do some activities in between - thats how u will have fun, as story hides many gameplay enhancing modes like flying etc...
Missions/quests you cant be arsed to do and then they put a time on it that makes you rush to do a quest you cant be bothered to do in the first place.
The thing is that newer generations of gamers are being accustomed to this kind of subpar experiences and will keep paying for them willingly. Our only hope are independent games produced with passion and innovation in mind.
You shouldn't review games on a PC that's better than the average PC out there. It should be a 14900KS and RTX 4090 in SLI. Just in case a game supports it. Of course it should be installed on a Gen 5.0 NVMe SSD and in RAID0 for maximum performance. Don't forget having 256GB of 8000MT/s RAM at cl30.
As a husband and father with a full time job, I have little time to game and you save me from wasting that precious me time on garbage games. You're my hero Mack!
After all the hype over Starfield and its total letdown, I found Avatar a natural breath of fresh air. I hadn't seen or heard any hype; 20 hours in, and it is a fantastic game for me.
Mack, I'm 57yrs old and have been a gamer all my life ever since I first saw the space invader machine cabinets in the pub, back then you were allowed in if you had a squash an a packet of Salt 'n' Shake an sat in the corner quiet, I was hooked. The folk that made all the games up until 10-15 years ago did so because they could draw on their imagination, nowadays games developers just plagiarize with just enough sprinkled on top so thy won't get sued, very few have no imagination and are just wondering how to fleece the gamer out of their hard earned money, occasionally a gem will drop buy but is very rare, we all as gamers all know this but as this is our hobby what can the small man do? I certainly do not buy these re-gurgated things that suppose for AAA games, in my own small way I'm sending a message, albeit a small one but I bet there are a lot of people doing the exact same thing. I applaud your channel as not being a shill one, well done mate.
I bought baldurs gate 3 (which was absolutely great) last year, elden ring the year before that. I was hoping dragons dogma 2 would be good but reviews put me off buying it so the next game I'm interested in will probably kingdom come deliverance 2 next year. Eventually I'm going to have to give up gaming because 1 game every year or two isn't worth upgrading the hardware to play it. But paradoxically, the gaming industry is enormous. I hope that people will eventually get bored of the same copy and paste games (ubisoft have now done it for a decade) and gaming will have a resurgence.
Compare the first Avatar Videogame to this one. In the first one you had the choice between the RDA or blue people which not only gave you a complete different way of playing the game, but you also had some kind of replayability. You could also use most of the known vehicles as RDA soldier and it had third person which was good because you could see your armor upgrades and stuff. So in short: Ubisoft already had a great foundation for a Avatar video game, but they decided to do a Far Cry Primal 2.0 and that's it.
Not that it matters, but I really like this game and I also really like Starfield. 😮 Shocking isn't it, but to each their own I guess. Even though I may not always agree, still great video as usual albeit you were just a little more upset than usual.
I think you should reassess this one. Get the flying dragon and go to the plains at least. It is THE best looking game I've ever played and the feeling of just exploring the world is amazing. Turn on exploration mode and just chill out a bit and you will fall into it. Like have a chamomile tea and some biscuits and give it another go Mac. But yes, it actually has TWO kinds of X X X-ray vision! So take your blood pressure meds first...
Reassess? LOL, No. The game is trash. It's an even more boring version of the Ubiformula with less action and fan fiction tier shit writing. If I want to explore a lush alien world where I'm just chilling out to the flora and fauna, I have No Man's Sky for that. Not this shite.

At least in Far Cry there is some satirical commentary on society. That's not possible here and that Chen introduction hurt, badly.
That ending 😆 Another "if I speak I'm in big trouble" moment ;) You're doing gods work man!
I played dying light for the first time this year. That game felt more modern than a lot of the triple a games coming out.
Mack you are a legend. X-X-X !!! Thanks for the impressions and warning for this one. I should have listened to you on Starfield.
Ubisoft has been selling the same game engine for 15 years
Mack ripping into a AAA game. Playing the X-ray vision (EX!EX!EX!!!!!) song. All is right with the world. Well, it's not! but this video helps! :) Mack, check out a WW2 strategy game called " The Troop" I have a feeling it would help your sanity after playing games like this!
“There’s a guy over there…there’s a guy over there…!” Brilliant! Laughed so much! 🤣😂👍
Ah the ending. In case there was any doubt.
I don't know what ending means. Can you explain?
woke shit. Body type instead of male/female. @@IskenderCaglarM41B441
Bless you mack and everytime you bust a tune out , x-ray vis is my jam I get up and bust a move every single time and alsoif was on a album I would buy.
Made for modern audiences.
i can hear this sentence in CD's voice.
Meh
I regret buying this, albeit on sale. Should have watched this first. Won’t happen again. Thanks Mack for your honest opinion reviews.
4:55 - There wasn't enough warning for this holy f*ck. Ubisoft always impresses me with how sh*t they can write games.
My first stop for every game review. Legend. Straight up. Thank you.
Best review channel on the interzones.
subscriber for years. Im glad to come back and see you haven't bowed to today's bollocks, mack. Thank you for being the best games reviewer.
But Mack, the streamers love this game!
Do they, though
Missions/quests you cant be arsed to do and then they put a time on it that makes you rush to do a quest you cant be bothered to do in the first place.
The thing is that newer generations of gamers are being accustomed to this kind of subpar experiences and will keep paying for them willingly. Our only hope are independent games produced with passion and innovation in mind.
Ubisoft, We make mediocre games with zero changes, yet are amazed nobody loves our games.
That's why I stopped at far cry 5, got so burnt out on the ubisoft-open world formula I couldn't even finish it.
Holy heck, another goyslop AAA game !!!!! I love muh hecking modern day games ! 😮😮😮😮😮
Aaaah nothing more amusing than clicking on this and getting an advert for Frontiers of Pandora before it begins😂
Please keep up what you do. Review keys or no you're one of the most reliable sources of reviews out there.
As a husband and father with a full time job, I have little time to game and you save me from wasting that precious me time on garbage games. You're my hero Mack!
I see "body type" during character creation and I find something else to play in my backlog.
You know the video is going to be great when you hear the X-ray Vision song🤣
Had a feeling this game would be garbage.
as soon as you start playing the game the characters start singing like they are having a greenpeace sit down protest.
Never played a UbiSoft game and I enjoyed both Avatar movies, so I'll be getting the game. But thank you for your unique and enjoyable review. 🙂
After all the hype over Starfield and its total letdown, I found Avatar a natural breath of fresh air. I hadn't seen or heard any hype; 20 hours in, and it is a fantastic game for me.
X Ray vision! X X X! 🛎️ 🛎️
So in short: Ubisoft already had a great foundation for a Avatar video game, but they decided to do a Far Cry Primal 2.0 and that's it.
when i played it was like "suppringly good for a movie game" now however i want video game studios to just STOP making licensed game. No creativity.
So great when you get the ad for the game right before you watch a Mack review about that game. These are the words and the trailer.
Not that it matters, but I really like this game and I also really like Starfield. 😮 Shocking isn't it, but to each their own I guess.
Even though I may not always agree, still great video as usual albeit you were just a little more upset than usual.
thanks for watching over us Mack.
Amazing. Don't ever change Mack!
