Wild guess and I’ll explain my thinking as I go. And I repeat, just a guess. First, in August, Switch 2 vibes trailer like what we got in October 2016 for the Switch. First, they’ll be getting pressure from third parties and investors to do literally anything. Second, it’ll lessen the amount of questions they get. It’ll also free up third parties to use Gamescom, TGS, and The Game Awards to highlight obvious Switch 2 ports with a generic 2025 release window to hype up more stuff. Third, a vibes trailer can also confirm backward compatibility, which will help the announcement not interfere with holiday software sales. Another thing that makes me think this is the fact that this is one of the few years that Nintendo has nothing currently slated for an August first party release, not even DLC. September Direct, if there is one and it’s a mainline Direct, will focus on some shadowdrops and releases for the first half of 2025. The 2025 section will largely focus on cross-gen releases while hinting at a release date, but not really giving one. Big blowout reveal with official release date getting announced happening sometime between December 30 and January 31. Either to give a surprise close to 2024 OR following a bit of the original Switch timeline. Even if it’s done in 2024, if it’s done that late, it won’t affect the majority of holiday sales and definitely wouldn’t affect the biggest holiday sales (Black Friday and Cyber Week). It’ll also allow retailers to start preorders and building hype into their own marketing leading up to the launch. Release, if it isn’t in March, will still probably be before the end of June. Though my guess is, it will be out by March 7 or March 14 (first or second Friday of the March). It would be cool if it could release on Mario Day, but that’s a Monday and Nintendo launches hardware later in the week.

I'm guessing they are going to stealth drop the Switch 2 reveal on Christmas day it will be a short video maybe 5 to 10 minutes and at the end they will reveal that Prime 4 will be coming out for both consoles at the same time. and then have a full direct in January going over all the launch titles and going into more detail about what the switch 2 can do.
No info till they start making the systems because they know once they start it going to leak. So I think they going to show it in September or October and it comes out in march or April. 😅

With the possible announcement of the Switch 2 next year, i'm just wondering what big game they'll be announcing that will be attached to the console release. It could also be that they're releasing Metroid Prime 4 on both the Switch and Switch 2 just as they did with the release of Zelda Breath of the Wild for the Wii U and the Switch
All I want for the Switch 2 are 4 3rd party JPRG releases from Square Enix and ATLUS respectively that are not coming to the original Switch( mostly because they can't run on the platform well). They are Metaphor: ReFantazio, Persona 3 Reload, Visions of Mana, and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (if the rumors are true). Those alone will make me want to upgrade to the Switch 2 even though they are available elsewhere. Plus, I can play them on the go without connecting them to anything or use wifi when using physical (I'm looking at you PS portal and Steam Deck, which also has crappy batterly life). And if the Switch 2 has an OLED screen as well, (LCD screens are only rumored and have yet to confirmed to be true), then it will make me want to upgrade even more.

They were directly asked if the successor would be something new in the May shareholders meeting, and they replied "'Switch Next Model' would be accurate" That's literally all I needed. As long as I know they are making a more powerful Switch, they can take all the time they need.
I think it’s about time they release the next gen switch, their current hardware is bassically extremely outdated tech that is as powerful as an old tablet, most of their games run 30 fps instead of 60 fps and when a game like Minecraft can barely run on the Nintendo switch then it shows that it’s about time we need more powerful tech.

I don't mind being a kid on Christmas day or maybe in July of next year. I think it'll be cool. I think they are waiting for technology prices to go down to make it affordable for everybody. And to sell more units. I think it's a smart decision.

I don't mind being a kid on Christmas day or maybe in July of next year. I think it'll be cool. I think they are waiting for technology prices to go down to make it affordable for everybody. And to sell more units. I think it's a smart decision.
