Imo it is a fun badge and all but it is a bad badge to give after already 100%'ing the game. It should be a badge that changes the dynamic of each level to add replayability like the jet run. That badge doesn't incentivize playing old levels
13:43 For me, I missed the top of the flag pole, since I couldn't see where mario was on the bouncy thing. It was PAIN. But it actually gets a lot easier the second time, I feel.

I quit Wonder partway through because I got bored with how easy it was. This video made me realize that a) I have the capability to make the game harder and I should’ve done so sooner and b) that there is a lot of post-game stuff that’s much closer to my skill level. I’m definitely gonna go back and play the game more, thank you for the awesome video!
I clicked on what appeared to be a silly little video about Mario Wonder and was immediately taken on the emotional rollercoaster of a lone man's journey, not only to beat a game, but to find the strength to come back. Thank you for warming all our hearts.
I played offline, and still got all the standees way before the final level. I think most players who 100% the game do too, considering you get so many purple coins in this game that you will quickly reach max and figure "might as well spend the coins on some standees so they don't go to waste". I never had to grind a single purple coin because the game throws so many at you. But in case you were missing some, there are also 5 hidden Captain Toads who each give 50 coins, as well as a bonus "coins galore" stage that is 30 seconds long and gives you 40 purple coins each time. It is really quick to grind the coins if you are missing any. But there is another ending you didn't talk about: If you return to the poplin house after 100%ing, there will be 4 flowers who praise you and thank you for playing.
as a person who got all 6 medals within a week of playing, i can confirm that getting all standees was annoying, i had to grind the same level for about an hour for enough purple coins
@@Victini7472 The Sugarstar Trial: Across the Night Sky i found a trick where you could instantly get the wonder flower with yoshi and get all three 10-coins within less then a minute i just grinded it
The no sound badge reminds me of the ending from NSMBDS where all you get is a different background for the bottom screen. It's just something to show off to prove your gamerness
16:12 this final badge is special, your so good, Nintendo knows your worthy by getting this far. They gave us the reward of a glimpse of how they created the game and its sound effects.
Tbh one of the most disappointing things about Wonder to me was the final battle. Like, seriously, out of ALL the possible things they could do with bowser LITERALLY being the entire castle, the best they could think of for the final level was reusing wonder events from every other part of the game and then making 3 phases of the same thing- spring up, hit the switch? Where are the giant bowser arms growing out of the castle? Where are the walls of bowser-head fire shooters to roll in? Where's the lightning, the rising and lowering lava, or the rising platforms phase? I mean, COME ON- Bowser was ALSO merged with his clown copter, it's the PERFECT OPPORTUNITY to have an arial dog fight, or having him spawn floating platforms for you to jump across while avoiding attacks to get closer to him, but instead we ONLY got 3 phases of time your jump with the beat to hit his chin, with one hit to the head. Such a missed opportunity.
I think the boss fights in Wonder were a perfect chance to do some super creative stuff (I really miss the boss designs of NSMBDS so something like that would've been amazing) but they really fell flat for me, the Bowser Jr. fights were different enough that it was pretty alright but I agree I wish they were more unique!!
@@VocalEcho yeah, I forgot to even MENTION the Jr. Fights. Sure, the modern 2D games have never REALLY been known for super unique fights- with DS and Wii being the biggest exceptions, DS bigger of the two- that was always the job of the 3D games like 64, Sunshine, Galaxy 1 and 2, and Odyssey, but when comparing DS's world bosses, you'd think they were using THREE wonder flowers per fight compared to these. And it wasn't even like it felt disconnected or anything, because Bowser Jr. was still present in every world with the midway towers, AND was actively responsible for creating the other bosses at the ends of each world. Each world boss was even directly related to the world themes! Goomba in plains, pokey in sand, fish in water, etc. Wonder totally could have done the same thing, just making him the midway bosses of worlds, or at LEAST just making him the boss in SOME worlds, like in Super Mario 3D world where Bowser was the boss of 3 worlds, with 2 being extremely similar but with different difficulty and features, but the final encounter being a more interesting change. DS and 3D world should have been MASSIVE inspiration for what the bosses could and should have been, but instead they just made the rest of the NSMB games but with a little extra weird magic
seriously, mario wonder outdid every game in the new super mario bros series by a mile but still couldn’t create a better final boss than mario wii’s bowser fight (no disrespect to mario wii, that final fight was and always will be amazing)
Never played online but I'm a gambling addict in video games so I got standees basically any time I unlocked a new world. Getting the thank you to finish my 100% playthrough was super satsifying, especially because the amount of play sessions i took to beat the game conveniently lined up with the amount of non easy mode characters. I did switch back to mario from yellow toad for the final world and final two special levels, but it felt like every character got to play an equal part in getting the wonder seeds and completing the game.
7:33 The purple coin is NOT badge locked mind you, you can also enter the red pipe by swimming while holding onto a shell which is available at start Locking items behind badges is not a good game design as it limits the solution to players who use specific badges
Not everyone is a completionist, some people seem a game as finished when they beat the final boss, some see the game as finished when they beat the hardest challenge the game has to offer, these endings are landmarks of completion, but also represent the 4 types of gamers regarding completion, the points where each gamer leaves the game, unless they come back later. Casual, beat the game; Challenger, defeat the game; Collector, find everything; and Completionist, do everything;
@@sergioandresquirogavelarde6816 true but I think that what he meant was that for him alternative endings is when you can have an alternative end cutscene depending on how much you played, like link’s awakening when you don’t die a single time throughout the game, or in 2D metroids games when Samus takes off her suit, but again those examples don’t really change anything in the story. There are some games like Holow Knight that rewards you with a different end cutscene. I guess it really depends on how you define a different ending
The stars on your save file are as old as save files in Mario games. Save files in Super Mario World would have a number telling you how many level exits you've gotten, and when you get all 96 of them, the number turns golden and a star is placed next to it. Heck, you could look back even further, 'cause Mario 2 (later called The Lost Levels) on the Famicom Disk System would add stars to the title screen for every time you've beaten the game.

First time watching a video of yours. I quite enjoyed the vibe/editing. The spring section and the invisible section of the final final level will haunt me.
I remember the odyssey video and I think I cried for some reason? Maybe I just didn’t blink… but i felt satisfied by that video so I’m excited for this one.
At first, I honestly thought you were reaching with this video idea. But thinking about it, I do think Wonder is weirdly...well paced compared to other 2d Mario's. Those games just kinda felt like individual levels to beat. But Wonder gave me multiple things to work towards from the very beginning. Beating the main story, buying every collectable from the shop, completing badge challenges to earn new badges, finding all collectables in the levels, reaching the top of every flagpole, and finding all the entrances to the special world levels. And the nice thing was, if felt like I was progressing all of these objectives at once. Even if I only cared about beating the main story, I'd still have to collect at least SOME Wonder Seeds, which getting purple coins could help with that. Badge challenges would also give me new tools to use that could be useful. Might as well get the top of the flagpoles too when you can, since you obviously need flagpoles to beat the level. It all just worked so well together. Heck, you sometimes find small purple coins on the world map itself. This game really is a Wonder. It's so simple, but also so brilliant
I was never a fan of 2D marios but wonder absolutely hooked me! I 100%ed it in just a few days and loved every second of it, even the hundreds of times i died to either the spring badge or the invisibility badge level in the marathon xD I especially loved the secrets in the overworld. They werent that obvious but if you looked for them you could always find a suspicious patch of land that looked like there could be another level or a corner where you had a gut feeling that there could be a passage obscured by the camera angle. These intuitively hidden secrets are so satisfying
Tip: Try a Yoshi + boosting spin jump. It's best for collecting, helping people, and just progression. (Because you can't collect power-ups as Yoshi, you might have to switch out when collecting, and when helping people you can give away your unneeded power-ups)
On the level select menu, it shows if you've done everything in a level or world. I noticed that I hadn't done everything in the special world so I knew there was another level.
Yes! This was super helpful and I should have mentioned it in the video. Because I wasn't using a guide those level select check marks were all I had to go by lol
4:32 Super Mario Bros. 3 had a world map screen with blockades, moving enemies, and fortresses that stayed down after a game over. It's a lot more than a level select screen, because there is a lot of strategy that goes into navigating and surviving the world map screens. Even the 2 player mode put emphasis on whether Mario or Luigi beat a level or use a mushroom house. Super Mario World's world map is much more simple so I can see why Wonder's feels more alive than World.
Thank you for this video. I played up to the "2nd ending" and didn't attempt more because I thought it required standees in order to access. Time for me to finish it the game for real!
I just found out about this channel, I love your stuff although they can be confused here and there lorewise sometimes but who cares. I wish you post more frequently in the future !! ❤❤❤
Not at all how it was for me. I not only spent most of my playthrough online, but in many levels used 2 controllers at once! (Typically 1 as a normal character and 1 as a Yoshi.) In fact, for the closers of Worlds 4-6, which I saved to do back-to-back, I tackled each one with 4 characters without repeats! (Felt inaccurate to the story having only 1 character in each World End Cutscene when they’re supposed to be traveling as a group of 12. A group that splits up when W4-6 are unlocked simultaneously.) And I collected all the 10-Coins and Secret Exits in most levels and all the standees I’m pretty sure before even unlocking the FALSE final level. Although looking at this, I guess the true 4th ending for me would require going back and assisting other players for likely weeks on end (considering I ended my run at 9800) until my Heart counter maxed out at 99999.
Yeah I collected all the standees last minute too And when I had first finished the final final level I had missed the top of the flagpole, though I still came back as Mario just in online mode
You missed a level. Even if it can hardly be considered as one since it has no flag or wonder seed. They are all the same, and you can easily farm lots of coins and purple ones too.
Quick tip for those wanting to get all the standees: Don't spend money on the special world popplin shop, at least not initially. Instead, buy the regular 10 coin gatcha until you get most/all of the common ones. The less you have the more likely it'll be for you to get one you don't yet have, you may even get a rare or legendary along the way. After you get at least most of the common ones, then you can buy the guaranteed new one from the special shop and save yourself both time and money
The badge marathon was haaard, I spent countless lives on it! But then a week later I tried the challenge levels in New Super Mario Bros U and those really are next level hard.
When I got wonder I played online with my best friend and we had such a good time and I’m really glad I did because now we have some of the funniest memories thanks to this game lol
loved this game but blew through it with my roommates in like 4 days, we were kinda speedrunning it lol. definetly want to dive back in and take my time through this game at some point
After earning the last medal, your title screen actually turns into a dark-mode variant of the usual white Title Screen! Small but nice reward, that's visible to all as soon as you load up your game :) (Unlocking Wario as a secret playable character would have been way better tho)
Can you please do Celeste? It's a really fun game and it can take a LONG time to fully 100% and you could stop at any time and have a satisfying ending
4:30 of we are including 3d games then I would say 3d world for level over world ( by his judgement odyssey doesn’t have one) but if we are only counting 2d yeah you’re right
i found i had quite the opposite experience from mario wonder... i went in seeing these new cool ideas and levels and i had been playing through my old mario games before it released but once i started playing through i found a couple things that didnt really hold up... to start off i wanted the challenge in each level like i had in NSMBU and luigi U where i would struggle on levels dealing with enemies that all you had to do was jump on their heads, it was a bore, every level was a cake walk and even those 5 star levels i finished on first or second try, but i also see the perspective of others, nintendo wanted this game to be the mario game people bought after seeing the mario movie and they wanted it to be an enjoyable experience for newcomers but i really just missed the charm of staying up late on one or two levels trying to beat that final boss or trying to find that secret. another things that majorly disappointed me was the lack of secret exits, the iconic 1-2 secret exit was there and was hard to find but it led to a captain toad... i was soooooooo disappointed and i wanted something more! over all i just fealt like this game lacked the challenge that older mario games had and even though this game was diverse and new and enjoyable for newbies it just didnt have the spark that the old ones did. thanks for reading and leave any comments or questions if you care
I actually appreciate that game having less secret exits tbh. It's a cool idea, but I think the execution in most 2d Mario's isn't exactly...fair. Wonder having less of them made them more memorable, and decreased the amount of "unfair" secret exists. This, and the fact that i think they're just well placed I general, made 100% completing Wonder more fun then any other 2d Mario for me
@@Aktedya1-jt7vw i agree how most secret exits were unfair or tedious but id say some of the secret exits were unfair in wonder such as 1-2 but reaped so much less of a reward
You play Mario Wonder very odd to me, for example when I go into a level I'm searching for everything, and I found many of the challenge levels even before reaching Bowser, and as such the "second ending" as you called it, really never occurred to me, it was just part of the main game.
That's the beauty of it. This video is basically my experience of beating Wonder, but it varies for everyone. I acknowledge that there would be less "endings" if I was playing like a completionist towards the end of the video.
Dude, you don't need to stop YET, just don't be too afraid, fixing all glitches and blunders is impossible, the cost of perfection is infinite, calm down, take a breath.
I hope when Nintendo Releases the next console we get a trophy/achievement system like Playstation and Xbox. So we can show off crazy hard accomplishments like this to the world, or people curious to see what you've done 👀👀. I think that would be awesome.

And I collected all the 10-Coins and Secret Exits in most levels and all the standees I’m pretty sure before even unlocking the FALSE final level. Although looking at this, I guess the true 4th ending for me would require going back and assisting other players for likely weeks on end (considering I ended my run at 9800) until my Heart counter maxed out at 99999.
Yeah I collected all the standees last minute too
And when I had first finished the final final level I had missed the top of the flagpole, though I still came back as Mario just in online mode
Legends ever return....
You missed a level. Even if it can hardly be considered as one since it has no flag or wonder seed. They are all the same, and you can easily farm lots of coins and purple ones too.
7:30 You don't actually need the dolphin kick badge, the turtle thing's shell also allows you to swim against the current.
You just described my journey with Mario wonder
Quick tip for those wanting to get all the standees: Don't spend money on the special world popplin shop, at least not initially. Instead, buy the regular 10 coin gatcha until you get most/all of the common ones. The less you have the more likely it'll be for you to get one you don't yet have, you may even get a rare or legendary along the way. After you get at least most of the common ones, then you can buy the guaranteed new one from the special shop and save yourself both time and money
I beat the entire game as Luigi. I never changed characters until I finished the badge marathon. I guess I'm just a big Luigi fan.
All this stuff was very obvious, but you're taking it as some revelation
At like 9:56, he says one of the stupidest shit I've ever heard.
I’ve done this 8 times with my twin brother and had the best time ever! I love Super Mario Wonder!
loved this game but blew through it with my roommates in like 4 days, we were kinda speedrunning it lol. definetly want to dive back in and take my time through this game at some point
A couple of tries for the invisible part? You are surely a pro
I love how you're more likely to beat the entire game that get every standee
After earning the last medal, your title screen actually turns into a dark-mode variant of the usual white Title Screen! Small but nice reward, that's visible to all as soon as you load up your game :)
(Unlocking Wario as a secret playable character would have been way better tho)
9:09 you can kill this guy to skip having to jump the iceblocks
Wait I didn’t know the title screened changed when I got all the metals
Same here! I had to re record the end of the video when I noticed lol.
Dope thumbnail design
Nice video! I did the 100% and it was a big challenge. It's your control the model "8bitdo Sn30 Pro"? I really need it :)
just imagine they did what they did in SM3DW and you had to beat the game with ALL characters

He’s backkkk
Can you please do Celeste? It's a really fun game and it can take a LONG time to fully 100% and you could stop at any time and have a satisfying ending
W video I just subscribed to
4:30 of we are including 3d games then I would say 3d world for level over world ( by his judgement odyssey doesn’t have one) but if we are only counting 2d yeah you’re right
Bro great intro
Funny I 100% beat this game a week after the game released
Welcome back
i found i had quite the opposite experience from mario wonder... i went in seeing these new cool ideas and levels and i had been playing through my old mario games before it released but once i started playing through i found a couple things that didnt really hold up... to start off i wanted the challenge in each level like i had in NSMBU and luigi U where i would struggle on levels dealing with enemies that all you had to do was jump on their heads, it was a bore, every level was a cake walk and even those 5 star levels i finished on first or second try, but i also see the perspective of others, nintendo wanted this game to be the mario game people bought after seeing the mario movie and they wanted it to be an enjoyable experience for newcomers but i really just missed the charm of staying up late on one or two levels trying to beat that final boss or trying to find that secret. another things that majorly disappointed me was the lack of secret exits, the iconic 1-2 secret exit was there and was hard to find but it led to a captain toad... i was soooooooo disappointed and i wanted something more! over all i just fealt like this game lacked the challenge that older mario games had and even though this game was diverse and new and enjoyable for newbies it just didnt have the spark that the old ones did. thanks for reading and leave any comments or questions if you care
@@Oscarhatt101 I think 1-2 was the only iffy one, which I already knew before I got the game tbf. The rest, I just found naturally by exploring.
He's back
I realized there was a Popplin in the Special World selling character specific standees after I had already gotten them all. So...
Where did you get that controller?
Dude, you don't need to stop YET, just don't be too afraid, fixing all glitches and blunders is impossible, the cost of perfection is infinite, calm down, take a breath.
He’s actually back
🤩🤩🤩 YOU’RE BACK
5:16 took me about 10 attempts. I'm stuck on the final badge challenge
well there is the 101% run where you get all online hearts but thats one hell of a grind
19:21 forgot the hearts you get from online multiplayer
There’s a counter on your profile maxing it out is your final challenge
His alive!
Was that biffa and the Sprits
He has returned to his people.
Looks like I need to pick it back up & 100% the game too!!
true ending: get all the standees with only 3 wonder seeds, 0 flagpole-tops and 0 big-purple-coins
Finally another one
I was collecting standees my whole play through. I still had to grind Nabbit dangerous donut ride for like 4 hours
There should have been a special ending where Prince Florian became a butterfly....
I hope when Nintendo Releases the next console we get a trophy/achievement system like Playstation and Xbox. So we can show off crazy hard accomplishments like this to the world, or people curious to see what you've done 👀👀. I think that would be awesome.
