Hey Chris, Jake here from Sovereign Grace in Bakersfield. One of the best explanations on the Sabbath I’ve heard. Keep up the good work and see you at Pismo in January.
The Sabbath is not only the most venerable, it is likewise the most living of all the sacramental realities of our religion. It has faithfully accompanied the people of God on their march through the ages. Vos, Geerhardus. 2003. Biblical Theology: Old and New Testaments. Eugene, OR: Wipf & Stock Publishers.
I agree it is not legalism. God told us to rest on Sabbath, and we do so by faith, knowing God will bless it somehow. As a Protestant, a group leaving the Catholic church, why did you hold on to the Catholic Sunday for no reason? Now, there are 400 plus years of Protestants trying to justify Sunday. There is not one word in Scripture suggesting Sunday worship. Saturday is the Sabbath.
So refreshing. So clear. Thanks.
