- New Jersey mom Kim Vaccarella started a side hustle after deciding to create a suitable and easy-to-clean beach bag. However, after a botched shipment of over 1,000 bags for $30,000, Kim had given up on her business -- but then was given a lifeline three years later in the form of a $120,000 investment. Today, Bogg Bag is projected to bring in $100 million in revenue for 2024.

How A NJ Mom Turned A Failed Beach Bag Into A $100 Million A Year Business
She worked hard, took a risk, and in her failure gave back to the community. This is definitely a self made humble person I am happy for.
Is there a possibility that things other than luxury goods trademarks are really only worth this price? So if you need it, you can check out *preluxz* . This website has many places where you can compare the quality of luxury goods.
Literally Crocs the bag
Genius, huh? I love it!
And to think Croc didn’t invent it.
@brooklynnrose115 yup! With all their resources. This lady is a genius. These bags will explode in sales. They haven’t even gotten to the customization part.
Idk about 'genius'. It IS an established design applied to another accessory. It's just what more Americans should be doing, to me it's engmcouraging. Taking a risk, and an investment, and trying to start a business without knowing every part 100%. It's kind of the only way to make it comfortably anymore. You're GOING to work hard regardless. Why not do it for you? To me this just shows anyone can do it. It doesn't even take an original product... or one people even associate with your brand over someone else's established brand.
I saw one in store. I literally thought it was made by crocs. A sub brand or something
Anyone else shocked that a beach bag company is about to hit $100 million? It's crazy how one person's vision can turn into such a massive brand. 😲
By helping people in need she was greatly blessed in return.😊
Exactly what I was thinking. You never know how your genuine service will come back to bless you.
@carolwilliams8840
Amen~👏👍🤞🙏
It was a smart business decision. She also got a federal tax reduction by donating the bags. Im sure her heart was in it as well.
Main point
Their style is very sensual, fashionable, elegant and low-key *jklux*
Her humility is refreshing.
Yes
We really don’t need to buy luxury goods. Many people buy luxury goods just for vanity and to show off their “social status”. Then *hotdups* may be a good choice. It takes time to manage a personal brand. Customers buy value and identity illusion, not just products. Thank you for sharing!
I would rather buy a replica. I won't feel bad if I accidentally stain or ruin it. I have some very good replicas that I can wear with confidence. My budget does not allow for designer bags. *jklux*
As a luxury bag collector, I love all the beautiful and tasteful bags. Congratulations *jklux*
Hahaha, $7000 for a bag is ridiculous, there are more important things in life than a $7000 bag. I would buy the *jklux* because the replica is really good quality and smells so good.
Imagine losing $30,000 while a co-worker gives you $120,000 to try again. She seems more like the lucky one, not the co-worker, who took all the financial risk and paid off her debts!
definitely win-win for both of them
Exactly. The audacity of trying to make out he was the lucky one.
Right! I was shocked at that part. She wouldn't have 100 million in yearly revenue if it wasn't for him.
I really like the *jklux* bag. The fabric is well made. The gold hardware adds a touch of beauty. I received some compliments when I went to a party.
*jklux* I love you so much, watching your video makes my day brighter
My dad bought my wife one of these like 8 years ago and we all laughed at my dad.
Sorry dad you were just way too ahead of the trend😂
He’s the drip god lol
You're awful people.
I love leopard print and Celine in deep velvet has a special place in my heart now. *jklux*
Regardless of the *jklux* bag or any other factor, I firmly believe that without a high level of expertise, people will not be able to distinguish the changes in the appearance of the bag or the metal parts.
I have the extra large Bogg in hot pink. We live near Destin ,Florida and use it on our beach trips.
It’s the ONLY tote that stands upright and washes out easily ❤️
Best invention ever👏
I miss destin. Best lil city
Love that! I love how easy it is to wash the pesky sand out.
Washing out easily is key to me!
All the bags you shared look so beautiful and well made that I decided to try them. *jklux*
One day I will be on this show with my business.
What do you do? Promote yourself for cripes sake... Link to it, or at least mention the name!
My onlyfans will be huge soon
❤❤
Yeah … !!!
Me too!
@@MrPepelongstockings My business is still in it’s infancy. But my business name and logo is what pops up.
The idea a coworker can give $120k and not run into a conflict of interest is mind boggling.
The fact a coworker or anyone gave her 120k as investment alone is mind blowing to me, friends in high places I tell ya. Networking and investors are what make the difference. I learned that for certain after watching "Inventing Anna" on Netflix Holy crap.
Thissss 👏🏻
And she gave a position instead of 50% percent of the company she seems ungrateful otherwise the company would be dead
@@ArmandoPerez-k8w Correct. The 120K is literally the beginning of her business.
Yes, I just received the *jklux* bag. Although it is a replica, I feel that there is no difference with the original, the workmanship is perfect, and the quality is also very worthwhile. I like it very much.
I have 3 of these bags. I never knew the background but as an artist, gardener and DIY owner of a 75 year old home….these bags keep up with my lifestyle. ❤
Her generosity opened up doors for her.
I see these bags everywhere, and now I finally learn about the story. Congrats Kim!
I just got my first bag this year. I loved the larger size but needed the smaller sizes. As a mom and business owner - the bags are fantastic. They are easy to clean and I love personalizing mine.
I am from Greece.......the bottom of the bag looks very strong ......if you design one less wider and more tall to be able to attach it to a grocery cart or has wheels of its own.......will be very helpful and strong for almost anyone😊😊😊
I appreciate that you guys are sharing a story of someone who is very transparent about their sacrifice and loss through their journey to success. Too often we hear the success stories without hearing about the real risks and loses that entrepreneurs take to get to their ultimate goal. No one ever wants to talk about the set backs and discouraging moments in being an entrepreneur and small business owner. This was refreshing, honest, necessary and very inspiring story she shared of her journey. Bravo! 👏🏽🎉
Literally just saw this bag in Target a few days ago. So happy for her!
I saw a lot of people on the beach this past summer with this bag. It was the first time I had ever noticed them, so I was surprised to learn how long they've been around in this video. I really did think they were related to Crocs. Crocs really slept on acquiring this business when she was ready to give it up. Not sure why the first description of this business woman is "NJ mom.." Are pieces about successful business men started with "NJ dad..."? She was a full time career woman and entrepreneur.
In fact, genuine and pirated leather goods are basically the same. The difference lies in the profit, so we can choose to buy them on *preluxz* , which can save us money.
I absolutely love this! It would be amazing to have a version of these as a grocery *bogg* . There's something so inspiring about a true Horatio Alger story-keep up the fantastic work and congratulations!
That’s a great idea. I’m sure they can make a sturdy grocery bag that would be easily washable.
Use the large beach bag, they stand and fit into trolleys and you can put ice bricks in the bottom for cold things
Well, until I saw the new white caviar classic flap, I really like it, I have several classic flaps, but always wanted a white one, it is beautiful this season. So I couldn't resist, this must be the last one. *jklux*
These stories are really great. It’s dream come true. It is encouraging
these bags were highly recommended in the mom groups back in 2022/2023 when my kid was born. idk if it was becaUs i was a new mom But so much stuff is like “must have”. i still don’t have the bag but i really want it! i’ve seen it in person and it fits our lifestyle.
Good for you
What I noticed right away was that it didn’t sit securely on your shoulder, one strap kind of slips down off the shoulder. This is typical of many shoulder bangs, that have 2 straps. My idea, create an accessory that you can slip both straps into that allows the straps to rest securely on the shoulder. I’ve seen this accessory several times sometimes on luggage. I think this would make your bag perfect. I hope I made this clear enough to envision.
Then the owner will be suid for shoulder injury down the road.
Let it be what it is now. Let the user figure out how to keep it sit on their shoulders.
@@Jesus-The-Everlasting-Father , I completely disagree!! It was a great suggestion, and it's actually a big problem for shoulder bags. You clearly don't carry them and wouldn't know...Don't shoot peoples suggestions down.
This bag purchased at *jklux* looks even more beautiful than the picture says, that's why it gets 5 stars. I really like its color and craftsmanship.
Resilience!!! Love it ❤ it requires so much perseverance and mental toughness to keep going after being disappointed or losing money trying to start a business. Literally, only the RESILIENT survive and make it. 👏
What a great story! She did something so great for her community
Finally someone who was successful after taking a real risk. That is admirable.
I live in Colorado so not much need for a beach bag, I use my bright red one as a knitting bag…love it!!!
"Microplastic is killing us!" "Here´s a new massive plastic bag for you" SUATMM!!!
It's the single-use plastic (mostly as packaging) that you see leaving every store in the world all day every day that's the biggest problem. A massive plastic bag that will be used for years isn't an issue.
@@wainivanuaokay seriously reread your own comment then think about how many potential customers they have. So if they have 100,000 customers and those customers buy 1 bag at some point those 100,000 bags are ending up in landfills, water supplies, oceans etc. The time it takes to get there doesn’t matter, it’s the end game that matters.
ALL plastics and synthetics r destroying us! Get real!
Maybe they can use recycled plastic instead? Although the process of recycling plastic can do more harm to the environment than using new plastic. Honestly, just don't buy what you don't need is key.
@@BlackChamomileor stop consuming plastics
Need more of these instead of just people that are TH-camrs! Social media is still great for marketing, but we need more people dreaming about making real products too.
Moral of the story: Never give up on your entrepreneurial journey.
If it’s your passion, you’ll never even think about giving up.
she gambled her kids college tuititon. shes lucky she made it
@@GrizzLeeC lol. Sometimes risking it all is the best decision of your life. Afterall, you only ever learn from mistakes anyways. Either she makes millions, fails and learns from it, or works for someone else the rest of her life, ultimately never fulfilling her passion. I know which one I’m choosing….
Risking it all to bet on myself, was the best decision I ever made, and it was hers too.
I never gave up on my day trading. Every mistake is a learning path.
I own the black bag… I love it…. I teach art and I can stuff the bag w so many items…. Love love love the bag…. I use it daily.
It reminds me of a discount store laundry basket with handles. 😐
Hilariously 'the bog' is the name for 'the toilet' in Australia/NZ ie - 'i'm off to the bog', 'he's in the bog'
Not made in America, I see the tariffs putting a damper on her business. I surely wouldn't use a beach bag with holes so the sand can go in but can see them as a cute grocery bag.
Not much is made in usa...
What won’t tariffs destroy? Between tariffs and all the deportations, Rump, and his administration are intent on destroying our economy!
@@erezjr- and much of the stuff that is… sucks!
You’re right about the sand, but would be great for the pool.
No tariff necessarily as she is a US based business. The fact that parts are made outside of the US is not as much the focus as most manufacturing will be via robots/3D printing anyhow in 5 years. Additionally, new incentives that haven’t been there to manufacture in the US will now be in place (making it cheaper to produce here). The reasonable biz taxes by being US located can help fund new small local businesses/start-ups.
Seeing just how much she had to spend in the beginning really scares me as a young artist but this is also super motivating anyways! That's really cool and I'm so happy she was helping people in need by giving out bags!
It is similar to O’bag. Great success for her hard work 🎉
God Bless her giving to the needy. I have tears in my eyes❤😂🎉
Great video! I agree with you about personal safety concerns, especially when traveling, getting robbed on vacation is painful enough, but getting robbed with an authentic bag is even worse. To me, it makes sense to travel with a fake kislux bag and not carry any valuables that you would miss. Also, if your bag gets damaged by dust, stains, accidents, whatever it is, it doesn't matter even if it's fake.
I always thought these bags were made by crocs they really dropped the ball not buying this company lol
She ripp off there design aesthethic why should they reward her with a purchase?
@@anom3897 It's just a bag. She ripped of nothing.
@@anom3897 You dont know business
@@bitokay147 Uhm yes I do !!! And Im very glad to report Crocs recopied her design and is selling it at a cheaper price!! Take that lady!
@@anom3897 Maybe she’ll try suing them since she can show her patent. (Crocs were not popular in 2012!)
For very small Harajuku (Japan) brands, especially EGL Fashion, they usually protect the copyright of their designs by almost always creating custom prints. This is a neat circular spiral, as each brand is known for a fairly different art style at the moment, and new prints that reuse old themes from past collections (or share old colorways) can provide a lot of interesting mix-and-match options. And *regbags* perfectly replicates this technique and shows
there' a brand name OBag, Italian I believe, really popular 8-10 yeras ago in Europe, and it looks very similar... to this one
Yes and those were customizable
@@amde8554 Exactly, I don't know why but they're no longer to be seen on the streets
Without the coworker who was willing to invest and revive her dreams, she would not be where she is so it wasn`t being lucky, it`s deserving. The luck is in your side for having people to help and believe in you. Not much people are like that nowadays.
Great story! The hospital industry workers bring these bags to work.
Yeah whats that all about? All these sloth nurses using these bags filled to the brim with food for their lunch break. Its nasty and these bags look like cheap garbage
As healthcare workers, you want something sturdy, low maintenance, easy to clean when working in hospitals, etc. I think this was the appeal of the bag for healthcare workers.
@@jonnyfendi2003 you sound nas ty
This woman is a genius and Crocs might be willing to buy her Company.
I seen these at my country club here in jersey two summers ago & immediately had to have one!
I LOVE my bag ❤️!
The price of these bags are ridiculous, just like Stanley.
Wow I am so impressed. What an inspirational story. Congratulations to you Kim! The bags are so nice. I’ll be getting one for the beach!
Loved this interview
What an incredible story! Impressive! ❤️
Same sort of bag in Kmart in Australia! $15
I saw these at Sports Authority! They are really cute. And they do look like Crocs but a bag.
Such an inspiring story ❤
Very inspiring, congratulations to her on continued success!
I saw two of these at the pool last night held by parents .
What an excellent story! Love to see this!
Soon this will be with my jewelry business reves jewelry I started last year!
Beautiful story ❤
totally getting one or 2 would love to gift this especially for my family with little ones or for whatever fits their lifestyle. I think a Sunglass case would really cool to match the bag.
Grocery Bog is so clever!
Good for her! I’ve got goosebumps! I must have the tiny baby one!
These are EVERYWHERE where I live! 🤩
AWESOME 👌
Great job 👏 ❤
Perfect for the beach. I use plastic covered canvas supermarket shopping bags.
Inspirational! I own 3 and love this bag!!!
I saw these at target. The bag is very spacious but I didn't t like the design and its not worth 100$ ( but that's just my opinion she made millions proves a lot of people love the bag)
Does the sand not get in the holes? so everything gets filled with sand? 🧐
3 numbers to highlight (all re: money) but the biggest point overlooked is the impact of her materials on the environment all to enjoy the environment.
Not even recycled
Very beautiful *yutulu* bag . Thnx for helping to make this beautiful video for us gucids。
Thanks i wonder about the story behind this company. So encouraging!
Man when we gonna start inventing something that doesn’t cause pollution😂
When I saw my cousin brought this bag to our family trip, I thought she was joking. After I heard the price, I thought she was still joking. Well the woman is clearing making money out of the crocs in a bag form 🤷🏻♀️
AND I love my bogg bag! It’s even more special because my love bought it for me 😊
A coworker gives you $120k when your business was basically dead but you think he is lucky. Ma'am, you are the lucky one!
Tbh if he only made $10m, then he either negotiated a terrible deal in the beginning or he sold out too early.
I just saw these in kohls few days ago and thought they were nice beach bags
We LOVE TO SEE IT!!!!
Etheline vinyl acetate was actually invented by an American chemist in the United States. Some of the videos I’ve seen about your bog bang insinuate that it’s made in New Jersey. I don’t know why they couldn’t find an American manufacturer. 😊 Many people currently are boycotting the Shark Tank because they seem to glorify everything made in China, but one day that’ll fall through the cracks. You have a fabulous product, can’t you find an American manufacturer that can do it? There’s a new company that will go public within the next two years. They will only handle products made in the United States from A-to-Z. That would be great to find your product in there. I am retired from law, but still know many people practicing the problem with stuff like this is Amazon will knock it off in no time, especially when they’re made in China because the same manufacturer will make it for the person who’s knocking it off? Different color, slight change of design. Great product, but hope you can find an American manufacturer.
Thank you for brightening my day with this video!
I am so happy for her ❤
Such a cute idea for a beach bag! Have never heard of this brand but will purchase one during my holiday shopping! Great story!
Seeing it for the first time. I can see the straps don't work as a shoulder bag.
Dupes are now all over Amazon 😮
And Temu and Alibaba
Sleek & functional. Most plausible showcased on this series
"came up with the idea" 😂😂😂
This is very inspiring
When you see failure in your endevour, just remember that it's the beginning of success.
Sometimes , failures is a turning point of where you went wrong and learn from it.
Then they start making little charms and add-ons that you can stick in the holes to make it more personal and customizable
Isn’t that like the Optari Sol Tote circa 2010?
Yes it absolutely is.
@ You remember them too!
I just looked it up. They still make them.
Couldn’t find anything like it 😂 have you heard of Crocs ma’am?
Yes and someone was mentioning Optari and the Obag, which are similar. The bag is much nicer than Boggs IMO
It reminded me of when I ordered a batch of bathroom rugs from the Chinese. The first batch was great, but the second was half as thin and looked like a duster.
That's how they get you. They make sure the first product is good then slowly start to skimp on quality control and by then your locked.
I’ve always wanted one!
Thankful, Bro...
That charity for the shore was great advertising
what a great success story!!
I love that her success story begins with charity.
So she did get the idea from the way Crocs look actually. Oh well they missed out, and didn't come after her, so 🎉.
Congratulations ❤😂🎉
Totally Awesomeness! ❤ Gum
Lol I go NJ beaches every year and I never saw that bag in real life
Incredible
Fantastic story!
Wow
