    Thank you for making it look as "easy" as it is. Removing my dash in my '72 Z is something of nightmares for me - that of which we shall not speak of. But it's really not an impossible job. It's a big job, but NOT the stuff of nightmares. Now, we just need more wiring assemblies that don't cost so much - or are available.
    My wiring is so fried (like most of you) I just want to replace it all to make things right. The first step is to replace the fuse box with the modern version, and after that replace the wiring harness. And also use relays where needed.

      Thanks man! Here's the link: datsunforum.com/datsun-240z-sport-1971-fsm-supplement/ You can click on the picture of the page and it will the enlarge the document. I found it easier to just print out every page rather than trying to read it on the computer.

    Do you know if it is possible to get the tach out without taking the entire dash out?

      I'd also like to know this

      If the dash has a cap, you are stuck having to remove the tach from the rear.

    If you don't mind me asking, what was your reasoning for removing your dash?

      Blu Ice This Z was rusted out beyond repair but the previous owner had installed a new stock dash. So I bought this 240 specifically to remove the dash.

      r u selling this red z??

      @Chelsa525  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately this red Z has already been sold. It was in pretty rough condition and the fella who bought it is an professional Z parts distributer. The green car we just posted about will be for sale though!

      @@Chelsa525 Always nice to have a spare Z dash eh... :-)... mine off my 73 that I've given to my 14 year old grandson needs replacement due to two cracks... we might tackle it should we find a replacement... thanks for posting...

    This looks easy but if you know there is a rat in there this is terrifying

    The one scene you didn't film. The actual removal of the dash from the car!

      Larry Kay you just lift up and pull the dash out. It was all hands on deck for the removal. We didn’t want to run the risk of damaging it just so we could get that shot on camera.

      tbh you could have put the camera down on the side and recorded it from there
