So the director Adam Wingard specifically stated in interview how he wrote and directed the movie with the awareness that parents are gonna take thier kids to see this movie, so he purposefully added in those moments of kong chowing down on those fish because he knew that kids would enjoy that part plus it keeps the character more relatable.
The outcomes of the fights make sense. Godzilla won because he has more experience fighting opponents on the same level as him and he has more options available in terms of possible attacks, whereas Kong was the King of his little island nothing could stand up against him as an equal except that adult skullcrawler which he killed. The only thing that managed to wound Godzilla was the powered up axe. I do like that Kong got the upper hand in the first part of the second fight. Having to fight an opponent that can bounce between the buildings, something that loosely strategises, is something we've not seen Godzilla do yet. We've seen the ferocious animalistic opponent in the Mutou, the stronger heavyweight in Ghidorah and now the more agile and versatile brawler in Kong. It makes sense that Godzilla would struggle at first, especially coming off the back of the overwhelming victory of the first fight in the water. But with the Kong being able to use the elevation of the city as an advantage it caught Godzilla off guard until he caught managed to dislocate Kong's arm and caused him to retreat. The pursuit and beat down after solidifying his victory until Mecha Godzilla shows up. Now, Mecha Godzilla is made to counter anything Godzilla can throw at him. He is literally manufactured to kill Godzilla. Godzilla is also fatigued from his very recent fight with Kong. All this wraps up into a crushing defeat for Godzilla until Kong joins the battle. Remember that Mecha Godzilla is made to beat Godzilla not Kong. Mecha Godzilla would have next to no idea of the capabilities of Kong and his axe and Kong now has experience in fighting Godzilla. Bish, Bash, Bosh, Godzilla probably remembered that the powered up axe hurt him so logically might hurt Mecha Godzilla so seeing that it's the only thing he can do that would make any difference he powers up Kong's axe and they win. "I'm not really good at betting...". Me neither,buddy...me neither.
Mellow, it sounds like you haven't seen Skull Island. You should check that out too, it's one of the very best monster movies ever; great cast, great fights, great story. And Samuel L Jackson doing his best Colonel Kurtz/Captain Ahab impression.
Everyone should check it out, terrific film.
You speaking for them was my favorite part
That was the BEST monster fight I’ve seen between Godzilla and Kong EVER. Oh yes King Ghidorah got his revenge against Godzilla. Man Godzilla got his ass whipped and would have died if Kong didn’t rescue him. Kong got his well deserved victory!
Oh we doin newer movies too? ... I'm with that lets Go!
The 3rd fight is when the fight got personal for Godzilla 😂
He was acting hella cocky spamming that atomic breath until he turned primal lmao
theres a short film of godzilla vs megalon that came out this year, along with godzilla vs jet jaguar and its on yt
14:07 kong goes full donkey kong
How many people laughed when Mell said he was Team Kong at 1:09
director adam wingard said godzilla wasn't taking kong seriously until kong hit his head with the ax, after which godzilla decided to take kong seriously and beat kong in less than 5 minutes
Ghidora getting some payback, through his new Mecha G body!!
this fight is just unfair, is like a 100 years old dude bullying a 1 month old baby
Hey! Me and my dad were talking and we want you to react to movie called "Pleasantville". The movie is a great one! We both think you'd love it!
The big fight in Toykyo was missing one thing: Joe Rogen's MMA commentary. :)
18:45 and the crowd goes wild
Mecha G, I see you Kong , But I have some pent up aggression against Godzilla. Then Kong came in with the steel chair
Guess I gotta save the day 🤷🏽♀️ lmao funny reaction
Kong must be part Cajun, because he broke that tail and sucked the head just like a crawfish. :)
Not going to lie he's reaction to the hon kong battle is similar to mine not going to lie
Team Godzilla from my first memories.
My first solid memories was my 4th birthday. I got King Kong vs Godzilla 1962 on VHS and a Godzilla figure. Ride or die Godzilla fan since. Still my #1 favorite thing amongst all other media
I absolutely love your t-shirt man 🔥
Probably the greatest movie I’ve ever seen (especially at the theater
Godzilla all day every day son!!!
People have waited this fight for decades after the old King Kong vs Godzilla back in the 60s
3:53 Actually in the little collage of different news reports it says the CNN report states that 8 people died during Godzilla’s rampage at there at Pensacola, Florida
So even in the Monsterverse CNN is fake news. No way that rampage only had 8 fatalities.
*Him laughing on who came up with the name mecha godzilla*
Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 1974:Oh Honey your funny
The CGI was the best so far in the Monsterverse
id say its as great as godzilla 2014.
Godzilla is king...whooped that ass... but kong is a beast...I tough he got shine in this movie. they made Godzilla the bad guy for most the movie. which I can appreciate just like Freddy vs Jason....but in the end the superior always comes up on top - in this case Godzilla finally put kong in his place ( as far as king of the monsters goes) - in FVJ Freddy ended up on top when Jason thought he was bringing Freddys head to his treasure closet and it was just a dream - as evidenced by Freddy winking and laughing. All in all a good reaction - your commentary was hilarious cuz its the shit that I thought to myself while watching the movie. good stuff
actually the original age was trying to lure Godzilla to Terra Oca so he and Kong would fight in the temple, that would be awesome.
I will NEVER, EVER believe an oversized ape could defeat an ancient dinosaur twice his size that breathes pure nuclear energy and has previously clapped a three-headed dragon with electricity powers💀
