    *”Power just makes a person more of themselves, right?”*
    The “good becomes great, bad becomes worse” isn’t meant to be a literal effect of the serum. It’s just implying that power in of itself amplifies your capabilities; A good person can do great, a bad person can do worse. It makes what’s you *_more_* you. This is why Dr. Erskine wants Steve to promise he will remain a good man.

    Something cool about Cap's powers from the serum is it also gives him near-perfect photographic memory. That's why they were able to attack so many of Hydra's locations because Steve saw points on their wall map for a brief moment while rescuing Bucky. His reaction speed and perception of time is also greatly enhanced.

    *Edit:* Also, the montage of him fighting Hydra across Europe is literally based on classic Captain America covers from the 40's. Just with regular Nazis replaced with Hydra.
    *Edit edit:* Also, yeah, Steve can draw! In the comics he actually worked as a comic book artist for a while!
    *Edit edit edit:* The big plane was pre-programmed to attack, the controls were shot, and even if it just crashed the explosion from all those big weapons would be enough to wipe out NY. So, yeah, he had to do it.

    So many great little details in this film...like the fact that Steve and Bucky go to the Stark Expo in the beginning (not Disney World). Then there is the fact that the "Vita Rays" that are used to activate the serum in Steve are actually Gamma Radiation like that which made the Hulk. And the fact that the repulsor lift technology Howard Stark was working on for his flying car was the same tech that Tony perfected to make Iron Man fly and shoot repulsor beams. 💯

    • @blueroninstudios
      @blueroninstudios 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It was actually a bit of both the body double and CGI because the body double wasnt quite skinny enough, so they sort of thinned out a lot of the fabric with digital trickery, etc. The thing that gave the FX team the most headaches was the scene where Bucky hugs Steve as he goes off with this girls, they had to spend hours and weeks fine tuning his clothing to look as natural as it could. But yes, a body double was employed and face replacement also, but the CG artists added a LOT of tweaks here and there that make it a ton more complex for a single shot than we can ever know.

Obviously, it came from Wakanda, but was it taken or given? I doubt it could be taken, and it makes sense to me, that the Wakandans would put a small amount in the right hands to combat the spread of Nazism. OK, so the reason why Steve had to "put it in the water." His instruments showed that all but like 2 engines were red (black being a sign of functionality). I think it also showed like half of the hydraulics being out too. Which would have made it impossible to turn around. It's a quick thing that you can really only absorb if you pause the movie in that half a second that he looks at the instrument panel.

    Fun fact, that aircraft that Red Skull escaped his self-destructing facility in is based on the Focke-Wulf Triebflügel. It was a VTOL aircraft that Germany was developing around 1944 to guard important facilities without an airfield, but it never got out of wind tunnel testing. In fact, pretty much all of the Hydra vehicles in this movie are based on real life designs that the Germans were either designing or developing.
    Edited to add:
    You really should watch the first Iron Man. When I saw it being advertised, I thought it was a kid movie but I was really surprised by how good it is.

    Because at that time he was already a super soldier and survived the fall, you will say when did he become a super soldier? While he was in prison and Steve went to save him and save the rest, bucky, he was under the trial of a serum on him, for this he survived the fall and Hydra found him and distorted his memory.

    Dude, I'm so happy that you're reacting to Cap 1, and also that you really enjoyed it! It's true that it is usually seen as one of the weakest MCU movies, but it's definitely one of my favourites so I love it when it gets recognition.
    The director, Joe Johnston, was a visual effects art director on the original Star Wars trilogy and Raiders of the Lost Ark (for which he received an Oscar as part of the visual effects team), before he went on to become a reasonably successful director in his own right. One of his best known films is The Rocketeer (1990), which features a similar retro 1930s aesthetic to Captain America. It might be a good movie to add to your watch list!

    In fairness, landing a plane with a bunch of nuke-esque bombs rigged to blow, in a gigantic aircraft made by a foreign, enemy country is a hell of a lot harder than just steering it down. Even if Steve was trained as a pilot, I doubt landing would be a simple matter, and if anything went wrong, suddenly a bunch of high-tech bombs go off in the middle of whatever base or city your landing strip is in.

    There are a handful of movies that I will never get tired of seeing, no matter how many times it plays. This is one of them. As far as Marvel favorites go, I have a lot of respect for Cap and I also like Iron Man, Spidey and Black Panther. Now... have to admit, I have a bit of a crush on Scarlett Johanssen (Black Widow). If I could spend the day with any actress from the MCU, it would definitely be her or maybe even Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch).

    The first Ironman was incredible. With its huge success, it basically greenlit the whole MCU franchise. There won't be an MCU if it was't for the first Ironman movie. It's not even my favorite movie in the MCU but I'd vouch for it. Also, having to watch the first phase movies is crucial for you to appreciate the future installments. Without the backstories, watching Avengers feels like there a lack of character development.

    Howard Stark in the movie is Iron Man/Tony Starks dad. He is the one responsible for making Cap`s shield as well. Tony was always jealous of Steve cause his dad always spoke highly of Steve and didn`t show Tony much emotions or fatherly love. Captain had to ditch the plane in the ocean because the Tesseract was on board the plane and would of killed a lot of people upon impact. Captain America franchise is my favorite and the best franchise hands down vs the rest of them.

  • @Ami-vh7sr
    @Ami-vh7sr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    There's a Theory that the Weapons Hydra designed didn't kill anyone, because they were powered by and shot Tesseract Energy blasts the theory is that instead of them being disintergrated like everyone thought the people were merely sent to random points in Space. The Tesseract is the Space Stone which allows travel between any point in space, so since it was the energy of the Tesseract being fired the people weren't disintegrated but instead transported randomly.

    The novelization and screenplay make it clear that the Red Skull flipped and *_broke_* the auto pilot, thus locking the navigational system and rendering the controls unresponsive. Additionally, the film presents the “Valkyrie” as traveling at great speeds (having reached the Arctic from Germany in under 30 minutes) meaning it would be arriving at it’s destination in minutes.
    This leaves Steve sitting on over 100 tons of explosives with very limited time to take action and save millions of lives. The only way to ensure success is by using great strength to manually overpower the controls and force the plane down.

    Iron Man was being pushed the way he was because, not only was he was the de facto leader of the Avengers, not only is a dude flying around in a suit of armor and shooting lasers awesome, but because Robert Downey Jr IS Tony Stark. It’s the same way that Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool, Hugh Jackman is Wolverine, and Heath Ledger is Joker. When an actor fits a character perfectly, you need to embrace it. That and they didn’t really have much faith in Iron Man in the beginning and it turned into an insane franchise.
    Personally, Captain America is probably my favorite marvel character. But, Chris Evans was just never perfect as Captain America. He did great, but it always felt like there was something missing.
    Doctor Strange is one of the best mcu movies though. I hadn’t been expecting much going into it, hadn’t even realized the movie had come by the time I got around to buying it, and it ended up being my 2nd favorite mcu movie behind Winter Soldier.
