Naoto Ohshima is one of my favorite character designers. He designed my childhood favorites and I’m so excited he’s back on the scene!

My god, you might be right. I don't remember him looking that happy in the Balan trailers. The people you work with really can make the difference when creating anything.

Yep, he's jailed, and I'm pretty sure Ōshima and Iizuka wouldn't be happy if they'd have to work with him again.
Hell, Ōshima actually left Sega after finishing SA1 because of Naka if my memory doesn't fail.

I'd be willing to bet 3:15 is the special stage theme. I'd also be willing to bet it was composed by Tee Lopes. The other tracks sound like Jun Senoue compositions. For example, the track you've dubbed "bridge island" at 1:12 feels similar to Emerald Coast (or even Station Square) in both tone and chord progression, albeit with more emphasis on synthesizers.
They all sound amazing. They sound very Sonic 3-ish, almost like the Genesis sound ship but without the compression. The "Speed Jungle" theme at the end could very easily be translated to the Genesis. They also have that Lee Lopes vibes. I'm glad they aren't doing the whole Sonic 4 sound again.
The music sounds amazing! It sounds so 90s! It's perfect!
I'm guessing 3:15 is meant to be the Main Theme for the Game.

Sonic superstars is doing very well already, and I'm proud. I grew up with the sonic franchise. And I still am. Even though I wasn't born somewhere near 1998 or something, I still like the game.

I am SO grateful for these two people and what they are bringing for us lifelong Sonic fans. Seeing them talking kindly about each other and laughing together its clear that they get on very well and are really passionate about making the game the best it can be. Its silly but as a 40+ year old man I shed a tear when the Summer Games Fest trailer dropped. This is literally the game I've been wanting my whole life.

The last time these two worked together was on Sonic Adventure back in *1998* . Let that sink in.
And after many years of independant work on many titles that would sadly get mixed and mediocre reviews, culminating in Balan Wonderworld, it's good to see Oshima-san and his studio team up with the company he used to work for in the first place to once again work on his arguably most succesful creation with full support from Sonic Team, especially now after a certain other person-that-shall-not-be-named doesn't work there anymore (and honestly after reading so many interviews and stories from people that had the chance to work with that person, all I can say now is they got what was coming to them). I'm really hoping Oshima and his team succeeds this time around and wishing them good luck. Fingers crossed!
Oshima seems to be more happy when he is working with Iizuka for the Sonic Superstars project, but not with Naka.
If you had watched him and Naka for the Balan video game interview, Oshima seems to be uncomfortable with Naka.
That means, oshima did not forget what Naka did to him during their sega years.
So darn great.
This guy is gonna make Sonic's legacy epic.

I'm just shocked that Oshima is actually back. If he sticks around, I have a feeling that all of the next few games are going to be something special, as evidenced by Superstars. It's incredible to see two of the OG Sonic developers back at it together again.
Imagine if more of the legacy Sonic Team came back, like Naka as the lead programmer for instance? Am I dreaming too much? 😂
Naka seems like a toxic person. Remember when he cut out Naoto Oshima from a photo. And he may go to prison.
Everyone who has worked with Naka has nothing positive to say. He's apparently super difficult to work with.
He's the reason 06 failed. Left in the middle of development and effectively signed it's death sentence, leaving the team with barely enough people.
He's the reason Sonic Extreme got cancelled, because he refused to let Sonic Team use his engine for no reason.
All Naka did was make the programming for Sonic 1. He is NOT "Sonic's Creator", that's Oshima.
@@pfsniperguy1456apparently, and don’t quote me on this, but a majority of Sonic Team staff chose to stay in Japan to work on Sonic CD instead of going to America with Yuji to work on Sonic 2 because they couldn’t stand him. Can’t remember where I read that but it wouldn’t surprise me

It was originally attached to the tornado with Tails in it, but at some point, the two were seperated,
since then it has been in the lobby of Sonic Team's offices and now it's here in this interview!

What I wanna know is if Fang will actually get to be called a jerboa in the western release of this game, as he was originally intended (English localization made him into a weasel for some reason)
His character description on the Superstars website confirms him as a jerboa.
