Ok, that was awesome! But I have a question. The video on the right with the KYL targets isn't moving in slow motion, so what are we seeing? Is it just the air disturbance? Because there's no way we should be able to see the bullet make its approach like that is there?? Also... you might want to do a recount on that dopage.. Did he check that thing in Arizona??
(From an ex Australian Commando WO2): If you can't get to within 800m of your target, then you aren't trying. The go-to sniper rifle still is the Accuracy International ATXSR in 338 Lapua Mag. We gave up on the 308 due to inconsistent performance. And as 90% of our shots were against equipment, not personnel, that makes sense. But by far the most accurate rifle we still use is the AI Sporter with a timber Churchill stock, Zeiss Conquest in 6-20 x 50, heavy barrel in 338 LM. It still beats the newer modular rifles out there. It should. It took a week to just make the barrel and we have one spare. It uses a modernised Mauser 98 Square Bridge action.
I laughed so hard Erik. "Nice trial run" Erik's trying to get in Jason's head. I'm loving all the excuses Erik came up with. I was laughing the whole time. Bantering head to head.
Awesome video, much appreciated, the group dynamics with you two is phenomenal, great shooting from you both and lots of jocularity, keep them coming and shoot straight!
Love the good-natured banter. It was in the low 30’s here this morning with ~15mph full value when I left to go let some freedomseeds fly. Coincidentally, when I got home, my ECTuner was waiting in the mailbox. Thanks for giving me another good excuse to go again soon. Glad to see Jason is team tiger blood, you picked a good one there, Erik.
First time here and man this makes me smile! Long or short quick or slow with whatever platform with friends is what it is all about. I wish people could see the big picture of what shooting is about. They only see the extreme small picture of it...
Just came across this great video. Biggest difference between the two shooters I noticed was how the first shooter moved to the next target, no discernable movement in the upper body at all. The second shooter was obviously picking the rifle up and moving it, you can see his shoulders an torso rise between each shot.
Know-your-Limits targets are great fun, shooting these weekly at 600 yards at my local range. Now add a time limit makes it more competitive. Start at 45 seconds reducing time each of the following shoots. Some can complete shoot in about 10 seconds. This exercise builds skill and focus.
Whataburger - Texas original!! I love the back-and-forth about the windage settings. Man, I am originally from closer to the Houston area, what county in Texas is this?
I'm from N.D. This time of year especially 29F above zero would mean I could dress light. Maybe you should have an episode of warm weather vs. cold weather shooters, in 3 temperatures, hot (at least 100F) Moderate (70's) & cold (single digits or lower).
Fun video, interesting to see the difference between combat trained and civilian in grip and intensity. Neither is wrong it was just an observation. Great video, thanks!
I was a Marine grunt for 4yrs 16yrs ago. I remember a couple years ago a couple army snipers came to a 1000yd benchrest match at Williamsport with their stuff. They did not do to well, and had a lot of questions after. I too remember getting my ass kicked my first match by an old guy in his 80's
What is the size of the small target? I would shoot the big target first, just to foul the barrel. And then the smallest Target next and work my way back up from small to big. Rifle gets less accurate after every shot because of the Heat. I can get 1-1/2" grouping with 3 shots @ 300 yards. My next two shots (4 & 5) never group as tight. Remington 700 .308 VTR
As a veteran I could tell who the sniper was just by the speed and accuracy of the shooting. Doesn’t matter how long you been out of the services get behind a weapon and it all comes back. No disrespect but a pro shooter ain’t got a chance but then again we all have our off days. Love how you guys can just go out and shoot we here in the UK can’t unless you belong to a shooting club and even that’s restricted heavily.
What is the weapon, set up, and scope on it?. How close is that ballistically to the old school German Mauser 7X57? I have one my father gave me, he was a Marine 1964-1973.
I have some hypotheses for the velocity variation: 1) The time of load development was in colder weather 2) barrel has been broken in more since velocity was last recorded 3) atmospheric pressure is lower since last velocity recording 4) ammo was shaken up excessively from a long car trip 5) a combination of 1-4 What's your guess Jason? I've been doing a lot of research this last year and I want to do some load development for my .308 and .300 WM this spring, and I'm trying to figure all of this out ahead of time so I'm not wasting components.
Load development has been in consistent conditions. Barrel is cut from a used 32” Fclass barrel Always a possibility different atmospheric conditions No Not likely The dope for the hold was around 2.9. Based off my first shot I held the adjustment in my scope for the rest of the shots without telling Erik. This is the cause of the variance in holds.
Jason; " I did my job " , BOOM Eric ; "what , ? you gave me the wrong dope ! " Jason; " we used the same dope !" I think ya both did beautifully ! cantaloupe head shots all the way! who knows Erik, your last shot that missed by a gnats pecker maybe kissed a fly at 380 yds!! that was a nice rig Jason
I’ve always wondered how the we’d do in competitions if we did this. We go to the gun store, pick out a weapon from their stock, take rounds off the shelf then shoot over iron sites. How would the pro’s do?
Question about reading the wind. Does the wind adjustment change with changes in air temperature (air density)? I know that my elevation adjustment can change at the longer distances with temperature changes. Part of that change is related to velocity changes depending on which type of gun powder I am using. Even when using powder that isn’t as sensitive, in extreme differences in temperature I have to make different adjustments in elevation. That thought occurred to me yesterday. I was hoping either you or your assistant have looked at that possible variable.
I have to brag now, in the USMC , I hit 10 bulls out of 10 shots with Iron-sights at 500m ( 545 yards ) with an M-14 , 225 score for my Expert badge ....Semper Fi ...!
Jeepers, how large was the target? At 300 meters the man-size silhouette target was smaller than the front sight post on my M-16A1. Even with birth control glasses I’m not sure I’d hit a 500 meter target more than once out of 10.
I feel like I may have missed it, but what rifle and attachments/modifications are they using for this challenge. I've been looking for a new bolt action rifle and was interested in the one they were using.
Pack the rifle up, no more shooting today. If you do it would ruin a perfect day. Awesome shooting. There are days I can't miss and then there are days I can't hit the side of a barn. Great vid. I thought you were going to get that last one until the wind kept changing, great shooting.
I live near Killeen and I like it Texas-style hot brother! It bottomed out at 17 degrees, froze the roads, and I spent over twice as long getting to work. We aren't equipped to deal with this at all. And it was a wet cold, the worst of all! I'm with ya, it's frickin COLD!🤣
I think I better get yall a job a the old VELA Saddle Shop in Floresville,TX.. A TEXICAN Mexican eating at Whataburger before a Good homemade Taco..Erik you let me down man..I knew the Yankee Sniper wouldn t have one..But you..Oh Man!!! Great Funny Video..ENJOYED IT..Erik you could not have picked a better man for that job..He also has the best Personality.
A little late to the party but just recently had -27f here in Montana. Now we are back up to 50f in just 5 days. Some people get polar vortex’s. Montana gets bipolar vortex’s!
made it look easy. but it's not. i also knew the second one was gonna miss the last. i kept saying, "it's getting low,; it's getting low!" after the second shot.
LIKE THE VIDEO!!!!
Can't like it enough! Seeing you guys shoot back to back is always a treat.
I always hit like on your videos.
Liked it so much I hit the button 4 times.
“it's freaking cold, it's 29⁰F”
Laughs in Canadian (Alberta set over 20 low temperature records this winter).
That rifle will thread needles... Dang.

I literally cheered out loud when he went 6 for 6! Freaking awesome!!!
My wife came in from the kitchen and asked if we won the powerball. LOL
me to
Cleaned it!
It was sick. On 6 i said no way then ting!
Bro 😎 I jumped also !! 😂😂

"That was a nice trial run" LOL Good shooting guys and great video as always keepem coming!!!!
My favorite videos are when you two shoot together. It has taken this channel to the next level. Love it.
Honestly, I think having Jason around has brought out more fun/entertaining side of you. Makes for great content. More videos sir 👍👍👍
2 good guys getting along. Both great shooters. One boss and one not but from their interactions you can tell the respect.
Outstanding, gentlemen. My eyes won't allow me to shoot well anymore. Keep it up as long as you can!

That was awesome!!!! Erik lost on the last target....the one about the size of the bullet! No controversy!!
This is becoming more and more entertaining. On a scale of one to ten this is a solid twelve.
Great video Gents. Love the fun you bring to these challenges 😎👍👊
Smiling. Nice to see you having so much fun. Nice video. Thanks. J.
Purely awesome! Great to see you guys have some fun.
Thanks for sharing
Fantastic shooting guys! I literally LOLed when Jason ran them squares! You're being too nice Erik, quit throwing rounds! LOL
Gentlemen, good shooting...... Erik, close but no cigar !!
fun! Interesting to note how the military trained shooter laid much more square behind the rifle and was more consistent in bolt cycling motions.

First time viewer. Really fun looking stuff! Enjoyed it.
Wow! That’s crazy! Great shooting by both. Challenge him on your gun and loads. Don’t forget to “forget” the muzzle velocity. 😂🤣😂
04:38 that was f*cking impressive!!!
You just got a lesson on a tactical 90 second engagement. Love to see this with a Barret and 40 seconds at 600yrds.
Whataburger - Texas original!! I love the back-and-forth about the windage settings. Man, I am originally from closer to the Houston area, what county in Texas is this?
Based on your rule of having to start from zero after a miss you should be shooting right to left, or is shooting left to right also a rule?
I'm from N.D. This time of year especially 29F above zero would mean I could dress light. Maybe you should have an episode of warm weather vs. cold weather shooters, in 3 temperatures, hot (at least 100F) Moderate (70's) & cold (single digits or lower).
Really enjoyed this! Great energy and shooting.
You guys will have to do that again just with Erik's set up. That was a good sweep through.
"Counts"
You said it, sir!
Fun video, interesting to see the difference between combat trained and civilian in grip and intensity. Neither is wrong it was just an observation. Great video, thanks!

No, Jesus is the way.... the truth..... and the life
He's King too
But dont feel about that Erik. Your a cool dude.
I heard the wind pick up just before that last shot on smallest plate. I think I'm good for the first 3, count me out from there!!! LOL!!
Awesome video! Nice shooting to both of you.

That first run was amazing. This was soooooo cool.

@@ilikepiepls Good info. Thanks for the reply.
That's was an awesome competition.
Looked likes alot of fun !
This is some great content...keep it up guys.
Great shooting guys! “This is The Way” is term used by the Mandolorians on the Disney Plus Channel. Must be a Fan wearing that shirt.
Definitely need an asterisk next to that win! 🤣🤣🤣
Both of those were amazing strings to the average shooter based on target size. Awesome.
Great video!! The marksmanship was pretty impressive too!!
Thanks fellas This was fun.
Jason; " I did my job " , BOOM
Eric ; "what , ? you gave me the wrong dope ! "
Jason; " we used the same dope !"
I think ya both did beautifully ! cantaloupe head shots all the way!
who knows Erik, your last shot that missed by a gnats pecker maybe kissed a fly at 380 yds!!
that was a nice rig Jason
Great shooting Jason 😎😎😎
Jason is so good, man. He gets so comfortable and never adjusts his body once he is.
Funny Stuff! Enjoyed. You Guys would be a blast to hang with!😆👍
Yeah, y'all need to have a rematch. That was some freakin' awesome shooting.
Fine shooting Gents, Eric impacts seemed to be 1/2 MOA right from center on all targets and that was enough to squeeze by the last one.
What's the rifle being used and it's setup? Sorry if I missed it
Love the 1970's zoom in and out. Classic.
A little sketchy!
(And you brought him Whataburger!)
Eric you got SMOKED 😂
Old vid I know, but the report on this sounds so beautiful.
I’ve always wondered how the we’d do in competitions if we did this. We go to the gun store, pick out a weapon from their stock, take rounds off the shelf then shoot over iron sites. How would the pro’s do?
First time I have watched. Someone tell me about these two guys. Fun to watch the skill and quality of weapon and rounds.

Yes. Your ballistic program will need you to input atmospheric data.
@@ErikCortina I need to decide on a ballistic program. I currently use a log book. Thank you.
Yo Erik, don't be a cry baby. He got you fair and square. 😋
Nice shooting gentleman absolutely exceptional. Excuses are like buttholes, everyone has one but they all stink.
I've smelled some nice tail in my day.
I'm glad Jason was on our side.
As far as the dope, wouldn't you both know the correct dope after the first shot?
Thanks for the video.
Yes, if I would have told him what I held on the first shot. I didn’t tell him what I held for the correction though.
Wow!
I heard Team Lapua just called Jason for the open position and sponsorship!
I missed that call. 😂

My buddy was the instructor of the SF sniper school.........and the 2010 international champ
It's good to see the new guy talking more.
Great shooting no matter what guys, great video brother
That was awesome!! I have trouble hitting squirrels at 100 yards with my lever action .22lr.
Erik missed the last one low. As you can see all of the other 5 were low as well but on the tiny target it was too low.
The Milwaukee Packout boxes are underrated for carrying range kit.
Best range kit buy I have done.
Pack the rifle up, no more shooting today. If you do it would ruin a perfect day. Awesome shooting. There are days I can't miss and then there are days I can't hit the side of a barn. Great vid. I thought you were going to get that last one until the wind kept changing, great shooting.

What are all the specs on that rifle? What stock is that?
26” barrel, foundation stock, Kahles k525i scope, trigger tech diamond trigger.
What are the measurements of the targets?
12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 inches
@@ilikepiepls Thank You so much!
I'm sure it's been said, but I would like to see Erik's best F-class rifle v Jason's 747 in a dueling tree match.
Rhar is awesome shooting. My compliments to you guys!
Take your lumps…you made the challenge 😎👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦

I like that targets setup........ Makes you learn your gun and shots better.....
Looks like you fellows have fun!
Haha 29, it's 0 here this morning! 🤣 Nice video Erik.
Uggh, it was 6F today
WOW just freaking WOW. Hats off gentleman...
Hey Erik I know this video is over a year old, but can you tell me what the size of your plates were from largest to smallest?
Did You have a speaker there to produce the wind noice??? ;)
Awesome shooting
Looked fun!
Loved this video! Nice shooting guys!
WHAT TWIST AND LENGTH ON THE BARREL?
1:9 right twist 26”
1st shot hit. Read it from there. Valid.
Incredible shooting!
