Hi my baby 9 month her weight 7kg and birth weight 2.9 kg she looks thin and she eats well and I feed only breastmilk she not gain weight properly from 5 month pls suggest me i am worried
My baby lost 13% weight in the first week. I had a natural birth , short labour, had thyroid in pregnancy and no gestational diabetes but fasting levels were on the border. I had to supplement with formula due to the weight loss..now it’s 2.5 months and still using formula but I want to feed exclusively. Wat could be the reason for the initial weight loss?
Do you feel like you had a good milk supply? Do you pump in addition to feeding at the breast? If so how much milk do you see if you pump in place of a feeding? How much formula is baby getting every 24 hours?
Hello!! My baby is 9 months and she’s loosing weight and she refuse to eat anything any suggestions what to give her and how to make her eat everything??
@@marycahillclc Both cause I’m a teacher and in a day from 8:30 to 5PM breast feeding is thrice at morning at noon and after 5PM at a gap of breastfeed she might have a powder milk like lactogen or NUN but she’ll refuse everything she doesn’t like anything even the solid foods also
@@Tengsime this is an age that some babies slow down on weight increase but she shouldn’t be loosing much. Babies get busy and active and sometimes don’t want to eat as much. Some babies don’t want solids until after 1 year. Pushing to many solids before 1 can cause low gain but it doesn’t sound like that’s the problem. Offering breast more often before bed can help to increase baby’s fat intake. How many wet diapers is she having every 24 hours? Is she drinking water. She just needs sips with solids if she’s getting lots of breastmilk still. I would check in with her dr too. ❤️

Hi! My baby is breastfed and she’s 2 months old and she 2.7kg but she didn’t still reach her birth weight which is 3 kg but she leaves more than 6 wet diapers a day
Hi there mommy! Is she 2 weeks old now? That’s good that she’s having lots of wet diapers. Was your labor long? Did you have a c section? Did you have IV fluids?
Hi my baby weight was 2.1 kg and was told I can't feed directly from the breast meaning express the milk and feed ...if she feeds from the breast directly she will loose weight...is this true ??? Because she doesn't seem satisfied
I’m so sorry that I’m just now seeing this. This is still a controversial topic even though, research has proven that breastfeeding at the breast, can be started as soon as baby is breathing on their own. I do recommend working with your doctor and not against them, because there may be certain situations that baby may need to not eat at the breast for a time. As far as losing weight, if baby is fed on a regular schedule instead of on demand, they usually won’t be losing weight. Breast milk fed babies tend to gain weight slower than formula fed babies. That doesn’t mean that formula is better, it’s just that it’s different. Premature or low weight babies have a greater need for sucking. If baby is getting enough to eat, they just need to suckle at the breast longer. I have a question. My baby lost 2.53kg to 1.95kg in 7 days. after 4 days of NICU treatment for dehydration, weight reached 2.27kg its now almost 19 days and the weight is 2.25kg only.. Should it be a concern? All medical medical tests show normal stats..
It can sometimes take up to 21 days for baby to regain their birthweight but it should be very closely monitored by your doctor if you’re not seeing weight gain. You know baby is getting enough if you always see 6 or more wet diapers every 24 hours but there should usually be weight gain too. What happened that baby became dehydrated? Are you exclusively breastfeeding?
@@marycahillclc first of thanks for a reply. mother couldn't feed the baby directly from breast in initial days after delivery. so baby got dehydrated. Doctor gave saline to the baby and then baby was ok. but after discharge from hospital, I didn't see any weight gain. May be as you said I should wait for couple of more days..
3 week old baby, scheduled c section delivery... Born with 7lbs7oz, at 2 week check up 7lbs 4oz, at 3 week check up 7lbs5oz... Exclusively breastfeed(although we had to feed him expressed milk 2/3 times when he was fussy... Milk supply good, 6+ wet diapers a day, my doctor isnt worried about it... Should we be worried about it? My wife feels so guilty like she's doing something wrong, which I'm pretty sure she's not since lactaction consultant that came to see us 3 days ago said she doesnt see any problems with him latching or milk problems... Your opinion? Thanks❤
That all sounds perfect to me. Having those 6 or more wet diapers every 24 hours tell you that baby is getting enough. If you had weighed in at day 5-7, you probably would have seen baby’s weight much lower. After any birth that wasn’t a vaginal birth with no pain meds and no IV’s, we usually see at least some weight loss. There’s nothing wrong with those things, we just have to remember that baby will retain more fluids and “appear” to have weight loss but it’s real a water weight loss. Most doctors consider healthy weight loss being up to 7% of the baby’s birthweight but most breastfed babies lose 10% and are still considered average. It is always good to see a lactation counselor just to be sure. So it sounds like you’re doing great. Just give your wife lots of support and encouragement. It sounds like you do that already. Congratulations on your new baby!❤️
