Still the sweetest, softest voice in the music business. After 50 - yes, 50! - years, Artie's singing is still the tenderest, most moving sound to caress our ears. His performance of "American Tune" is pure velvet...but then so is his speaking voice.
This man has everything. His voice is beautiful and you can understand everything he says. I could listen to him forever and i hope i do. Besides he is such a handsome man. Can't beat that. Love you Artie.
It's difficult for me to listen to him need to change the octaves on "Bridge..." but before everyone jumps down my throat, Art does still have the voice of an angel.
I think he lowered his voice because the cigarette smoking over the years, had started to cause his voice to change, plus age plays its part too. However Art's voice will always be a memory that will last, with the many songs he has recorded over the years. 💕
Art may not have been behind the major writings of the S&G songs but I've always found him a more fascinating man and humble individual than Paul - Although I adore them both as heroes!!!! (:-)
Lee Mitchell... Exactly. Totally agree with you. There's only one Art Garfunkel. His awesome voice and humility, is a credit to both him and lovers of S&G music. Sadly, I understand he has never been given credit for any collaboration during his day's with Paul. Nonetheless, I love them both. Art knows his worth. Bless him.
Artie, brilliant voice and brilliant mind. He is so right about that song "American Tune" What has happened to our country? By the way the ending of that song reminds me of the ending of a Robert Frost poem. I think it is called the Road.
Funny that Art explains the meaning of Paul’s song American Tune that is on his second solo album. They weren’t even on speaking terms when he wrote the song.
Good morning from Prague. This is the softest rendition of "When evening falls so hard/ I will comfort you" I have ever heard. Moreover, the particular conclusion of Bridge can surprise a lot: The mind indeed shifts from tempest to peace. Thank you very much, AGYT. Perhaps an expected question from a European: Do you think you will be able to post the latest radio interviews as well?
That was absolutely beautiful and provocative. My thoughts on the questions raised at the end of the 2 songs are: we, (America), were targeted with the destruction of the twin towers as being the blame for all of the evil in the world. Satan is the essence of evil and the blame for it. America has been a willing bright light for God and His son Jesus, (whom Art mentioned), since it's very inception. Do Paul and Art know Yeshua, I wonder? (Paul has been writing songs along spiritual lines a lot lately,)

Totally agreed.
He has the most beautiful speaking voice of a young man
No one can sing this song like Art! beautiful!
Paul wrote this song specifically for Art to sing. He knew it fit to perfection his him and his voice. As always, Paul was right.
No one can replace to you Art you are great and brillant voice i love you.
Artie's voice is still molten velvet.

Probably the most beautiful songs ever written - thank you Paul Simon.... your genius is amazing to me, and still continues on, even in 2018....
The 'Master' at work, he's still got the world's best chops
I just love Garfunkel so much he is very interesting
What a great, honest, young man..., yes, young, he has not changed in all these years in his singing voice. His name is program Art(ist)
He has the greatest voice and such a handsome man. He is a class act.
I love Art's Voice!!! It's One of Kind!!!
American Tune, one of the most beautiful Paul Simon solo songs.

@ Magic1 - Me too...
Magic1 he didn’t in his last performances in 2009,2010. I think this is because of the setting

I read somewhere that his voice began to lower in his late fifties after years of smoking, but, yes, this is still nice.
I've always felt about "Bridge Over Troubled Water", just as Art hoped it would feel and be interpreted by people, right from the start.

I love what he says at 8:29, wow.
yea, i could tell he lowered it somewhat but it is still as smooth as silk and sweet as the honeycomb

I absolutely LOVE the differing variations on BOTW !
Garfunkel is so terrific
Thanks for the accompaniment Snape!

Interesting that he covers Paul’s song from There Goes Rhythm Simon.
❤❤❤❤❤

Mary Burkhardt *sighs*
Good question. I'd like to hear what each of their spiritual beliefs are. If they want to share. Yes I find both men intriguing, especially Art.
