Their relationship is no different than the innate rivalry among siblings. The underlying love is always undermined by the persistent need to be the big brother (or sister as the case may be). We are fortunate, that in between brotherly feuds, they have produce some of the most memorable music of our time.
Marianne, Paul is just a deep thinker. He listens like an attorney. He's not big at smiling like Art. Still, it is apparent they have a deep affection for each other. not to worry.
Paul's face didn't register unison with Art spoken words, in this interview. Still, their collaboration produced some of the world's most iconic songs, and two icons the world adores. I love them both equally.
Art is a very difficult guy to deal with -- I read a book by Bill Schnee who is a very successful recording engineer and producer who has worked with some of the all time biggest and most successful musical acts of all time -- in his book he did not have a bad word to say about anybody -- except for one artist he worked with -- ART GARFUNKLE -- Paul does not have any contact with him anymore after Art said really terrible things about Paul - as we get older for our health we have to keep caustic people away from ourselves for self preservation
Caustic? Oh Art, such a harsh word for someone who helped make you millions. I wasn’t there, and maybe this word is actually appropriate? I’ll ask him about that next time I see Artie.
@@cruiser6260Garfunkel said in an interview in 2015 to The Telegraph that Paul is a jerk, an idiot and a monster with a Napoleon complex. And that he felt sorry for him because he was short. Google it, you will find it immediately. It was all over the press in 2015. If I were Paul I would definitely stay away from this so called „friend“.
Difficult to deal with, perhaps, as most artists are. But as a musician I must say, Art Garfunkle probably has (had) the most pitch perfect voice I have ever heard.
I can't believe they were absolete before I even knew them. And only seeing Garfunkel live now he is at the end of days. I saw Paul on TV in South Africa until just recently when I actively searched for the two of them as I wanted to buy their songs on Amazon. He won't ever see it but I love Garfunkel more and each time I see him. I think Garfunkel is descended at some point from an Ethiopian Jew or Ethiopian Jews and also has a degree of Albinism. At least one of his sons, I only know one, his twin born years apart, also having a degree of Albinism.
Paul: "...I don't think we'll be in an argument again. We outgrew it." Me in sarcastic voice: "Yeah really? I suppose you need two parties to be in an argument..."
I love the look. The rolled up sleeves and vest is his iconic look and gives the impression of him being totally relaxed and comfortable on stage just to entertain us.
Saw him lately and he has aged very much. They are no longer together and it not likely they will ever return...bickering and saying things in the moment can cause endless damage..The the one thing i had against them was this. They held grudges about things said and it created a cloud over them and still does. Now they crowding 80 and its probably still there. Loved them and their music but the old devil had has way and took some of their happiness.
I love these two when they are kind to each other. They are at their best when they are peaceful and singing!!
This band really is my confort band. Love 'em

even family members have friction...why not them..two geniuses working together. bound to happen
Can’t get enough 🙏❤️💐
I saw them on this tour....and they were good.
Cool
I haven't ever seen such a recent interview with the two of them together! Aww, this is wonderful.
You are both loved by many thank you for the songs and voices remarkable you both are 🦋
Just love em
Prachtige mensen, lieve jongens......Zoveel moois en schoonheid gegeven. ...
Awesome music they did

Simon and Garfunkel is both the definition and epitomy of Harmony. Musically, they're incredible yet personally, they're a wreck.
That could be a bit of an exaggeration but nice analogy. 😂

I've never heard these terrible things he's said, what are they?

Heard awful things about Simon as well,!!!

Wait around backstage or for an autograph and you can make the fantasy reality
Artie is wearing the same outfit in this interview as he wore at Central Park 30 yrs earlier. Lol
If it ain't broke why fix it lol It suits him.🤗
He always wears stuff like that

That’s his Garfunkel Brand - Same as Steve Jobs always wore a black sweater and jeans.
So much for out growing it.
haha!
Do you think Garfunkel is handsome?I think yes.Ciao.
Giovanni Tiroldi who care, the music is the important factor and vibe, not the look
Yes he was very handsome
He's a bit girlie.

Defo at least he hasn't got into the plastic face thing!!!
These were the first Jews in history to ever give a free concert. That is was their biggest achievement. A day the world will remember.
Hahahahahahaha!!!!👍😀

Art should put his wig back on. He suits it.
Little did Art know his vocal days were so numbered...yikes
quad1000 but his voice came back so beautifully. Thank God!
I would think to hear Artie tell how grateful he is to sing with the writer/guitarist/singer of the group. Artie's got the easy job.
Groups having a fall out after working together? How's that a surprise to anyone?
Simon predicts no more arguments. Didn’t work out that way, sad to say.
Last I heard, they are not speaking (again).
They hate each other. 😂
Hahaha
artie would have made a great larry.
Simon doesn't look happy
