Really LATE reply, but apparently in Volume 5 of Puyo Puyo CD Drama, she made an appearence there in an alternate version of Primp town. Even Doppelganger arle recognized arle, so she’s the real deal. So it really does make me wonder where they will go for her character. Even freaking Ecolo himself mentioned that Arle and Ringo wasn’t supposed to know this information or to be there. He knows something that they don’t of doppel’s existence.
A number of characters were planned for the game that were cut in development. You can also see the other three in this picture. Minotaurus is standing above Lagnus, Incubus is next to Schezo, and Honey Bee is floating around Incubus.
I'm not very good at Puyo, but I find myself coming back to this and the in game version of the song. Has to be hands down one of the coolest tracks I've heard in a game. I guess I'm a real big fan of ethereal synthy sounding stuff.
CreamyBoy this art style looks very RPG-like which doesn’t really fit with the new characters and settings I do really like both but it would be weird seeing Ringo, Maguro, Amitie, Raffina and ESPECIALLY the Puyo Puyo Tetris original characters in this style
Ya, maybe the lore would be more interesting, but SEGA is trying to market Puyo as child-friendly game with easy-going story and not as complex RPG, that would be counter-productive, but extremely interesting.
I want this game released for modern consoles in the west. Don’t change anything about it, maybe add English translation. No dub, no style change, no Americanization. I want the original thing as it was intended to be.

Rainbow Hero Even Doppel (I call her Silvana) deserves love. For how screwed up her plan was, she had a reasonable motive. She was lost and alone for a very, very long time and she had to sit there and watch as the other half of her soul enjoyed friends, adventure, and being regarded as a hero, while she herself couldn’t do anything. No wonder she wanted to take Arly’s place. She was tired of being alone. She was tired of being lost in a dimension where all she could do was sit there and watch as her other half enjoyed glory. THAT SAID, I don’t exactly agree with her methods. I’m a little pissed off that she chose to possess me and turn me into her puppet, while simultaneously turning me against the Arly I loved, but I understand why she did all that, and I kinda feel bad for sealing her away. Sure, the Arly that takes residence in my world may be happy, but if I loved Arly, I should have loved all of her, and not just part of her.

OK, I had an interesting idea: what if Doppelganger Arle turned good? It sounds crazy, I know. But there are tons of possibilities with this: we can make her Sig’s brother, - which will also make Sig more involved in the story - we can have her help Arle & Schezo when Rulue goes cuckoo in Puyo Puyo Tetris, etcetera.

So, it is definitely possible.
