I'm 60 and because I had prostate cancer I started walking about 6 months ago. Cancer free now and this week I waked almost 73k steps. I try to get 10k a day. I'm also back in the gym every morning as well. Walking has changed my life. Sleep better, more energy, and my legs are getting stronger. I absolutely love it❤

Another great video! I am a 64-year-old personal trainer based in Philadelphia specializing in older adults. Your content contains excellent and valuable exercises I share with my clients. It's great to have a physical therapist who is forward-thinking and exercise-focused for this demographic of the population. The over 55 market has been underserved up until recently. Thanks for all you are doing!

More professional health care workers should know what Dr. Harlow teaches. Strange but true, some of them don't know when to use ice and when to use heat. Can you imagine being injured and getting the wrong advice?

I’m in my 40’s but needed to enter cardio pulmonary therapy after an illness. The therapists emphasized the importance of healthy calves for cardiovascular health as well. The calves are sometimes called the second heart. So, there’s even more benefit to training calves for our walking routine!

Walking and cycling use different muscles. Years ago a friend went on a 10 mile fell walk. Boasted she would find it easy as she cycled and swam daily.

69 and walking last 15 years, with focus on getting at least 5 miles a day starting with a 20 minute brisk walk early morning. Also been doing about 20 partial squats and 20 toe raises a day as part of my non walking exercises. Also doing a one leg routine to preserve balance. Start slow if you have to but make sure you get up every 30 minutes to an hour and take a short walk for a few minutes. Easy to get 5 miles a day.

I'm 72 and had both hips replaced in 2022 and feel like a new man. For the past 13 months, I've been walking at least 10k steps a day and hitting gym for weight training 3-4 days a week. I've added a lot of muscle and lost weight. Three weeks ago, I upped my daily walks to at least 5 miles a day or 12k steps and still spend 1 1/2 hours at the gym three days a week. I feel 20 years younger. Weight training of your whole body is absolutely necessary and not that hard, if you start out slow and stay on it. Make up your mind to do it!

Just doing these exercises reminded me to put more 'spring' in the ankles when walking, which in turn seems to activate those hip extensors too. An immediate and noticeable benefit as well as the longer- term ones! Thanks so much for this. Will now acquire your book of course. Your thoughtful and clear demos are helping many of us 'oldies' I am sure.

I’m 68 and have found your exercises very effective for myself and my 90 y/o mother. Thank you!
What I’d love to see is a set of routines for maintaining and improving our current state. Basically a proactive set of exercises, maybe Monday = back/spine day, Tuesday = walking and balance, Wed = legs/feet, etc. A simple maintenance routine we can do almost daily where we don’t lose what we currently have.
If you recommend 15 reps, show all 15 so we can follow along without fiddling with the video or computer.
I’d be happy to purchase such a video and I believe many of your followers would do so also.
    TIA…

I can walk for miles too but my calf raises needed this info and I use squats for my glutes glutes but will add these extensions now.. I cut out all sugar during my cancer treatment. Very inspiring and well explained. In particular I appreciate that you limit yourself to just two important exercises that seems easy to perform. Thank you so much.!

Thanks for the exercise tips, it's always good to learn or re-learn these things and to stay motivated as I age. I'm 64 and walk 10,000 to 15,000 steps most days, plus 70 squats and 70 pushups in the morning. Also do Asian squats and hold them a minute or more several times a day to keep my hips strong. During my walks I do shoulder and arm exercises. Best of all, I play regularly with my grandchild, getting up and plopping down as often as she does. 75 - 150 "Zone Minutes," a day going by my Fitbit.
