I use a recipe for "rice pudding" using hemp hearts, chia seeds, ground flax seed and psyllium husks mixed with1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1/4 cup yogurt and a scoop of protein powder and some almond milk. I use the immersion blender to blend the cottage cheese and mix all the other stuff together. It certainly is filling when made this way. Thanks for trying this. I love all of your videos. I tried your orange chicken recipe and loved it!. Also, your cottage cheese cookie dough was what gave me the idea for the "rice pudding". Again, thank you!

I make this often in the winter. You can mix it up and put in the fridge over night. It will thicken up and be ready to microwave in the AM. I always just cook it in the microwave for two minutes. Cooks perfectly. I’ve made it farina like by using regular coconut flour instead of the coconut flakes. Also very good!

I used to care for my elderly dad. I'd make a big batch and portion it into I think 6 coffee mugs and store in the fridge. I put blueberries in the bottom of each mug, added the "noatmeal" then about 1/3 cup almond milk. Each morning, he'd heat up a mug in the microwave for his breakfast.

I like hemp heart milk more than almond milk. I think it tastes better, and it's lower carb than almond milk.
It's super easy to make. 1 cup of hemo hearts, and 3 cups of water. I just use a regular blender. Run it on high for a few minutes. I usually run mine about 5 minutes. Pour it through a fine mesh strainer into a quart jar. It has a little bit Add sweetener and flavoring if you want, I like it plain. Chocolate hemp milk would be good.
It does have some unground bits, but you can pour it through finer strainers if you want. Layers of cheesecloth would work, but I seldom bother. I don't mind the little bits. I have some very fine mesh reusable coffee filters that I use for making Greek style yogurt, but run through a regular strainer first to get the bigger bits out first, so it doesn't take as long to drain through.
You can make almond milk (or any nut milk) the same way, using almond flour, or whatever nut meal/flour you like.

I made a side dish using 1 cup of hemp hearts, 1/2 cup of chicken broth, and a pad of butter. Brough broth to a simmer , added hearts, let simmer for a few minutes, turned off the heat and covered. Waited about 10 minutes. worked great as a side dish. Could add mushroom and onions, maybe some cream instead of broth and have a pilaf.

I make a big jar of this and keep it in my frig (uncooked- no sugar) I do not add peanut butter, but add about a tablespoon of coconut flour. I microwave my for morning and add my sweetner then. But the jar in my frig has also been used for bars and then I add some melted white chocolate, nuts I have on hand and a little choc zero mini marshmallows. So good for both 🥰

And somehow I missed your falafel video, but I'd like to try that one too. Thanks again, ladies!! I made a "Noatmeal" that is basically the same except almond meal is added, too. The consistency is more like "MaltoMeal" or "Cream of Wheat" rather than oatmeal, in my opinion. If it's too thick, add some milk to thin it out and cool it at the same time.

I make chia seed pudding with…chia seeds (😂) and I always add hemp hearts. I usually let it sit for a few hours if I’m taking it to work, but can leave it in the fridge for 4 days or so. It’s kind of like overnight oats 🤷🏼‍♀️

    • @leahrowe847
      @leahrowe847 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

I make big batches of Chia pudding, let set, portion out into baggies/containers, then freeze a months worth... it comes out beautifully. I just get 2-3 days worth out at a time & stick in the fridge to thaw. I can eat it the next day/for dinner if I take it out at breakfast (6 am LOL).
I also add banana or Almond extracts to my Chia pudding for a flavor variations... they taste really good. We had other flavored extracts too, but they've suddenly became unavailable to buy without going to specialty shops/outlets. However, if you go that route Chia pudding takes flavors very well to give amazing variety.

Hemp hearts, like chia seeds, amaranth, and quinoa, are considered superfoods because they are plant based sources for all 9 essential amino acids. If you grind your chia seeds before use, they will dissolve more easily.

I love this and have been eating this for almost 6 years now. I even did a live on it on my Facebook. It tastes just like oatmeal, but what I do is in a bowl add the serving size for each hemp, flax, and chia. Add your brown unsweetener and I also add a little bit of unsweetened vanilla almond milk and microwave for 1 to 1 1/2 mins. You can add more almond milk if too thick then add your toppings and that is it, It is So yummy!

I am not anti-dairy but I bought hemp hearts and made hemp milk which froths like crazy. I top my coffee with it and drizzle with no sugar maple syrup -- the only artificial sweetner I use, sparingly. I also made hemp cream cheese. I blended 1/4 cup lime with 1 cup hemp hearts, added salt, pepper, garlic to taste. I added the hemp milk as needed to allow the seeds to blend. SO delicious. I know the omega 6s in the seeds are controversial but the nutrients I am convinced improved my nails and I sleep better.

Time saver and dish washing saver: mix this up in the bowl you are going to eat it in before you make your coffee. (I make it in a little portable glass container so I can take it with me to eat on my way to work.) The longer you let it sit, the more the Chia seeds will bloom and make the mixture thicken (you can also make it the night before but you may want to add more water or milk to loosen it ). I add protein powder and walnuts or pecans to mine and usually eat it with a slice of bacon. If I want it hot, I put it in the microwave. But it’s equally good to eat cold, just add more milk. This way, you don’t have to clean a pot or the wooden spoon (although you will want to rinse out your little dish as soon as possible for easy cleanup).

So, years ago, my doctor wanted me to have psyllium husk added to water for fiber reasons. I just couldn’t get it down me so, I would put the psyllium in a bowl and add just enough hot water and mix it up with some Stevia and a splash of whipping cream and eat it like oatmeal, then I would follow it with a big glass of water. Reminded me a little bit of cream of wheat. I would venture to say, towards the end, right before it is bubbling, you could add some psyllium seed to it as well. I will try it both methods, thanks for the video!

I have a recipe for noatmeal that I like. It's more like cream of wheat. It uses heavy cream instead of nut milk. I like it with a nob of butter and toasted pecans. No hemp hearts in it.

Also, can put your hemp hearts, coconut, etc in the freezer and that will extend the expiration date significantly

Made this last night and saw your video this morning. lol. I love hemp hearts noatmeal. Been low carb for 3 years and have lost and kept off 200 plus pounds. My recipe is almond milk, butter, allulose, cinnamon, and Xantham gum to thicken. Taste just like maple oatmeal.

To be honest, texture depends on how the oats were “cut”, so getting used to a slightly different texture shouldn’t be a problem. Personally, I loved putting bacon and raisins in my oatmeal, which I obviously haven’t had in some time. However, it’s a fall type day today and this sounds really enticing. Tomorrow sounds just as cool, so I will probably try it then. (Too late today 🥴)

I make a version of this everyday, just omit the hemp hearts. 15 gm chia seeds, unsweetened almond and coconut milk, more is better, microwave 1 min, mix, add more almond milk if required then another 1 min microwave, stir. Then rest in the fridge 15 min or overnight. Then add teaspoon of each coconut, a variety of chopped nuts, berries and lots greek yoghurt with some spices and or sugar free maple syrup. It's the best, I can make it in advance, put it in a jar and take it with me if going out early.

(If you spray coconut oil or wipe container with solid coconut oil, the nut butter will come out easily).

I actually saw a recipe in a magazine for Keto "Oatmeal" made with cauliflower. That sounds like an act of desperation to me. Not going there. This, however sounds like its worth a try. I do miss having a warm porridge in the morning. A dash of maple flavoring would make me happy.

Making this for breakfast this week. My old oatmeal breakfast always included oats, flax seed and psyllium topped with yogurt, blueberries, walnuts and maple syrup. I think I’ll add the yogurt, walnuts and sugar free syrup for a great breakfast.

I make a noatmeal recipe very similar to this, but my recipe calls for Almond flour. This sounded good, so made it for dinner with some blueberries and pecans. Delicious, I have to do some comparisons to see if I like it better with or without almond flour. I imagine if I wasn’t planning to add toppings, the almond flour would make it more filling. I also really enjoy KetoFocus’s version of oatmeal with cauliflower, it sounds absolutely horrid, but the taste and texture are so reminiscent of oatmeal. Thanks for sharing another great recipe.
