I’ve always wanted to make a save that’s dedicated to exploring everywhere in France, that place (if you mean the landgraab mansion or whatever it’s called) being the end goal. But I never end up getting that far because of my short attention span lol. Maybe one day
My favorite home there is the literal castle with like a billion rooms lol. But they’re all decorated with crappy furniture so it takes a lifetime to remodel.
I think the reason why half of the houses in Champs Les Sims have empty upper floors and look like two or three different houses in the same lot is because they're mostly set dressing and are not supposed to be entered/explored by the player.
This video made me realize how much I miss playing the sims 3! World Adventures has always been my favorite expansion pack. Think I just might play some later today haha ☺️
The second floor thing happens quite often. Some buildings are meant to look pleasing only on the outside and arent meant to have a second usable floor.(Like the buildings next to China s market place for example)
I love world adventures and miss playing it so much. This was such a cool deep dive into Champs Les Sims! I'd love to see you talk about the other locations (if you weren't planning to already). Wonderful video as always!

World Adventures is so underrated. I didn't like it very much when it first came out but it really grew on me when I had to figure out how to spend the huge amounts of money sim families like the Goths, Landgraabs, and Altos had. Being able to buy huge vacation mansions for them and sending them off exploring was one of my favorite things about The Sims 3.

A lot of old house have windows that are bricked up... If you had a house with a lot of windows, you were given an additional tax per window. The more windows, the higher the tax. Since most people would spend more time downstairs in their kitchen and living area, just bricking over the upstairs windows was common. That way they could still enjoy the view and fresh air during the day and not have to pay for a crazy tax.
cant wait to send my sims to champs les sims for the first time. i was obsessed with egypt when i first got the game and kind of never explored china and france 😭
4:08 this type of house was common on early 1900 here in Rio de Janeiro. This type of house here was called cortiço. Some cortiços have the walls like this. But I don’t know if this was common in France.
By the fact that the Landgraab roots are in France, and Admiral Landgraab kind of founded the Sim Nation, it makes me think that, even though Sim Nation is inspired in USA, it may be colonized by the French

Louisiana has French / Spanish roots and some stores sell frog legs. Cajun country has French speaking residents . A lot of towns have French names one example is Baton Rouge ( Baton = stick & Rouge is Red ). When you travel to South Louisiana you run into a heavy Cajun French accents. Any trip to Louisiana can add weight because of the delicious food
Champs Les Sims. Not my favourite of the three destinations, but I do like it. Some nice collecting, more varied grub and plenty of French totty for my sims. Ok, I jest on that last part, but the Nectar making skill, and the "sampling" is the best part of the trip.
As much as I love France, it's very obvious that it's actually unfinished. They clearly struggled with keeping up with the aesthetic of having so many buildings and streets that are furnished and occupied, but I don't blame them. It looks like time constraints seem to have hit Champes Les Sims the hardest in making this expansion pack. Technology-wise, it'd be difficult to have all these buildings furnished and rendered as well, which is why I think so many upper floors are just empty or non-existent
There’s actually a mod called the traveler mod that allows you to live in any of the 3 countries and play as the premade families in them. Neat little mod, I’ve been playing as the Fouchier family in Champs Les Sims the past few days
When World Adventures first released some people were really mad because it was so puzzle driven. I personally loved it, because some of the later puzzles were actually a little challenging. You could also ignore the puzzles and quests entirely and just have three beautiful vacation worlds. Looking at sims 4 Jungle Adventure or Strangerville, even Batuu, and how shallow and repetitive those ‘adventures’ are makes me wish sims 4 had 1/10th of the depth that World Adventures had. World Adventures is probably my favorite sims 3 pack that isn’t a basic like seasons/pets/generations. I prefer it over things like University and Island Paradise.
