    AWESOME VID. TY. FYI the hyperlink to the AIE MOUNTING BRACKETS and the CTS V BACKING PLATES directs to a lost page. After a quick google search it became evident that IDKWTF I’m doing. Do you mind replying with a new direct link to those 2 items? Did you installed a brake proportioning valve?
    And tested and set it, as explained in another youtube miata video
    and regain front/rear wheel lock as the stock setup the factory dialed.
    Should set to front and rear to lock at the same time,
    And then dial a little more front lock.
    And also regaining oversteer understeer stock setup
    Both of these setups can be dangerous is not addressed.
    Another youtube brembo instalation ended locking the the front tires
    At a minimum pedal presure.

    Are the CTSV 6 pistons that you are using the same at the 2013 to 2015 Camaro ZL1 six piston ones? And also the rear 4 piston callipers from both. There is a affordable set of the ZL1 front and rear for sale. They look exactly the same as the CTSV ones except black. Thanx for the reply. Cheers.

    Dude that rear bracket with 4 piston cts-v on the rear is money, props! How much better are the 6 pistons vs the 4 piston cts-v's, like the look and probably cheaper price of the 4 pistons but want the best bite. I loove my car(WS.6) but HATE the shitty brakes it has, i plan on reaching a power level that will require a new rear so ill probably just run a front cts v set up and was wondering how big of a diffence between the two really is?

    • @WarShrike
      @WarShrike  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'll be fine with the fronts. The 4 piston cts-v brakes are good, I wanted to fill out the looks of the car front and rear. It works just fine on the track and on the street.

      Thanks Dan, it was a few grand, but made some of that money back selling the stock brake system.
      I've yet to really get to push their limits but this layout will allow me to upgrade to even higher end brakes in the long run. These are oem replacement parts so if something goes wrong, I'm a NAPA parts store away from getting what I need.

    Hey there, just bought some 6 piston callipers for my CETA. 3 questions. Do the new corvette front hubs and the adapter "brackets" kick the front wheels out at all. ( do they make the front wheels stick out further ) Did the stock CTSV backing plates just bolt right on? ( in the rear ) And, is the stock master cylinder beefy enough ( push enough brake fluid ) to operate the bigger brake set up?? Thanx bud, you have bin a big help to me. Cheers.

    • @WarShrike
      @WarShrike  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1) The hubs with the adapter plate are the same track width as stock.
      2) The backing plates bolt right on, but if you have 4-channel ABS it might need modifications to accept the VSS sensor.
      3) The stock master is enough, but I did add a Strano master cylinder brace.

    Are the GM 5th Gen ZL1 Brakes the same. They look the same but since I have a Black 97 Camaro Z28, I think they will look better since the ZL1 Calipers are powder coated black. I have 2 sets of 18 inch C6 Wheels for the street and 2 sets of C5 Corvette Magnesium Wheels for track use so I can get the best rotating weight savings (With the tires I want to use also cause some tires are heavy as hell) using the rear C5 18 by 9.5 wheels on all 4 corners. (I'll be selling the four 17s in once the brake swap is done cause I'm never going back). Anyway my next question is do I have to get a rear mounting bracket custom made to mount the rear cts=v2 setup on my Moser 12 Bolt rear cause my axle tubes are 3 inches in diameter. Don't know if the stock 10 bolt is 3 inches or 2.5 -2.75 inches in diameter.

    I had a question about the rear set up, what year of ctsv backing plate did you use for e-brake set up. I have a guy parting out a 05 Ctsv I was going to grab everything front an rear calipers, rotors, and e-brake set up and wasn’t sure if the 05 e-brake backing plate set up was the same one as you used. I’m was hoping to put them on my 01 trans am. What year or ctsv did all your parts come off? Obviously your fronts were the newer 6 piston ones off the later years but what about the rear set up?

One last question if you don’t mind, you think the first gen e-brake assembly’s will work like the second gen did? I emailed bigbrakeupgrade about there rear mounting adapter it also looks like they had one that had the e-brake set up on it as well. But be nice to use the one off the 05 since I can get it with all the other stuff save some cash for those 1000$ vette hubs. Thanks again.

    How does the parking brake work on the rears. Does it still use the factory drum style or does it connect directly to the new calipers. The camera was out of focus on that part. And you said it mounts up like stock, I'm assuming you just mean the cable but I want to make sure.

    • @WarShrike

      It uses the CTS-V backing plates which has the parking brake setup just like on the f-body drum-style setup. It uses cables that adapt the f-body handbrake to those backing plates as the lengths are different, etc.
